Is it suggested to get all the expansions for Ascension? Looks like I'm about 3-4 behind.
If anyone wants to play Twilight Struggle, I'm more than down for a game. Don't mind walking newbies through learning games either.
What's your name on there? I'm Slacker feel free to add.
CzarTim I hope you're bad at this game otherwise I'm about to bore you.![]()

Twilight Struggle is async too which is great as I don't get to spend long at the PC nowadays.
And it'll be cross-platform once the iOS and Android versions are out. Start a game on your PC at home, continue it on the road on your tablet (I don't imagine this would be great to work with on a smaller phone though).
I keep forgetting that defcon going to 1 on your turn causes you to lose the game even if your opponent does the action that causes it to lower. Lost like 4 games to the ai like that followed by a massive facepalm each time.
Dang -- caveat that I'll probably only be able to take turns at night (pacific time) during weekdays so will probably time out in some of these games if people take turns in morningWill be much easier to avoid that when this hits mobile. Currently rereading rules -- forgot all the little nuances but it's coming back now.
The tutorial's decent for beginners, so it should help give you a quick refresher on the rules. Strategy is a different matter of course.
There's a card reference as well if you want to skim through the card text.
Sorry for the triple post, but Xia what is the best setting in terms of balance? Is it just leave everything as is and play with the optional cards? (That I heard balance things a little bit better for US.)
AFAIK Optional cards enabled is considered a bit more balanced. Some feel that's enough to balance things out between experienced players, others feel the US should also get +1 influence (added anywhere they already have influence).
I prefer Optional w/ no modifiers, but I'm far from an expert player still.

Heads up that the iPad version of Suburbia is currently on sale for 99 cents: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/suburbia-city-building-board/id681966300?mt=8
So...is Twilight Struggle out worldwide on ios or just in the US? I can't find it here in my Dutch/EU store.
Sorry, I haven't been following its development and release closely but as soon as I saw the thread come up again I had to check and ask. I've always wanted to try this highly rated game and maybe with the help of the tutorial I can at least understand the basics before actually having to compete with someone.
I actually haven't tried it yet since I don't have an iPad, but it's rated 4 stars so I think it must be decent. Here's the Android link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.suburbiagame.suburbiaOn sale on Android too. Is it worth getting?

Haha yeah both our games were super fun. Makes me want to pull out my Deluxe but if I keep playing on here I'll probably wind up too good for playing new players.Whew, good game there Astrolad. I was close to hitting 20 with Asia towards the end there but you kept eating away at my lead. Once you discarded Wargames, I was hoping to draw Star Wars and not worry about Final Scoring.

Oh yeesh haha...I've only been playing with gaffers.Pick on new players with no mercy! Then your rating will be high enough that the other high ranked players will actually bother to play with you, heh...I've seen some of them state they'd only play with players at a certain rating floor given their current rating.

Ah, I thought you meant new players as in the general populace.
Just Steam right now, iOS/Android is going to take a bit longer to come out.
Guessing the console ports are sometime after that.
App might be the only good way to play the Pathfinder ACG. I didn't really care to hold onto the physical version, but I'd take another look at this one.
Le Havre iOS is currently 99 cents https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/le-havre-the-harbor/id517685886?mt=8
A few of the developer's other games are also on sale for 99 cents.
I had no idea Pathfinder was coming this soon. Looking forward to it.
Pathfinder is out right now in the AppStore.
