Nah, maybe a bit higher res but it will use the same FSR solution. MS never truly cared about this console to port or develop ML upscaling for it.

Mind you, in motion FSR3.1.5 is a huge improvement over FSR2.2. Especially for vegetation, where FSR3.2 looks like it has motion blur dialed up to 11.
But of course, still very far away from PSSR2

Yep, but even with those improvements upscaling from 720p is a stretch for it. Is the target resolution 4K or lower?

I don't think this is a fair statement. MS has shown that they really do care alot.
 
lol virtually every next gen games drops to 720p on consoles if they use next gen tech and dont want to drop below 60 fps.

Some games do hover around 864p but only because they are ok with dropping frames to 50 fps.

Some games like AC shadows skip RTGI in performance modes altogether.

This isnt new.
 
This game is not graphically impressive on any platform lol I've played uncharted 4 on base ps5 at 4k 60 and its 10 years old looking better lol

SWITCH 2 Edition is gonna be interesting 360p-540p internal, DLSS sauce to 720p-1080p? 20-30fps.

So the game on base consoles looks visually much worse than Uncharted 4, at the same resolution and framerate that game had ten years ago. And at 60fps it has literal PS3 IQ instead.

Around 2021. They tried their best. It's not like they are where they are because they didn't care. Things just didn't work out.

I can't agree with that. This gen from them was an absolute shit show, even worse than X1.

They should look at what made 360 successful and try to repeat that.
 
That's called optimization too. If your engine struggles on 90% of hardware, you shouldn't use 500 NPCs.

The optimization is already very good. It's not the developers' fault that they have to program on weak (CPU in this case) hardware.

It's not my fault. It's the developers fault who wants my money. They could simply release the game on PC only. Also, the game is struggling in the most PC CPUs there, maybe not 20fps, but 30 or 40fps in stronger CPUs. Neogaf and PCMR is not the real life

Sure, let's have a pseudo "large-scale" war with half a dozen NPCs, just like in Valhalla, in the name of "optimization," even though 90% of the time the game will be running at 60 FPS.
 
Overall, the game looks very dirty.

Its of course due to the very poor IQ, but not only.
It's only the occlusion artefacts, the shimmering galore, the low quality of RT lighting and so on and so on
 
Strange, game seems very optimized on PC. Not having any problems with a 30 FPS locking on my mobile 3060, everything pretty much maxed.

RE Requiem was way havier. Dunno why optimization on consoles seems so bad.

He's a weird guy tbf. I've heard him apologise for fucking shit upscalers like FSR 2 because they look good "at rest". Sorry, at rest?! Like, when you're not playing? Like photo mode? Who gives a fucking shit what games look like "at rest"??

It was his bleating about the much more minor issues the original PSSR produced that got it removed from games like Silent Hill 2. Idiot.

DW Origins is rendering + 1000 enemies on screen and performing much much better. Maybe they didn't optimize enough if the game was designed for those combats
 
Hmm that looks rough. I wasn't keen on the game, but the positive reviews have me interested a bit. This is definitely one to play on PC.

This makes me think, just imagine GTA 6's tech breakdown... I think it'll be similar 720p or lower base, but probably <30fps.
 
We are below infamous 792p res of launchwindow xbone exclusive aka first og titanfal here, next gen aka ps6 cant come soon enough, to any1 betting current gen with this outdated base ps5 gonna last much longer is gambling addict, come holidays 2027 we will be hugging our brand new shiny ps6's :messenger_beaming:

The 2nd trailer for GTA6 was running on base PS5 at native 1440P upscaled to 4K.

They managed GTA5 to run at native 720P on PS3, also RDR2 to run at native 1080P on PS4.

98% screenshot from PS4 Pro during gameplay (FPS ones while aiming with no HUD with scope rifles).

The game was inconsistent in it's large open levels (that featured some impressive tech like PCSS).. but it also came out 10 years ago on last gen hardware, after a super-rushed development in just about two years.

not the same thing. its being reconstructed from 720p to 1440p using FSR. Whereas titanfall ran natively at 792p which looks much worse on a 4k screen.

Debatable.
Games reconstructed from 720p, at least with the tech available on base console, look like shit in motion.
Native 792 will look blurrier, but it's not going to be full of smearing and artifacting as soon as you start moving.

People will post screenshots that look decent and and be like "native resolution doesn't matter bro, it gets upscaled now"
Then you get the game and as soon as you get into the action it looks like this:

Obviously, but still kinda pathethic, i bet u on ps6 we would get 1080p native with ai upscaling to 4k similar to dlss4 quality, making the resolution bit below native 4k, but still above native 1440p, so once again ps6 cant come soon enough xD
 
The delta between the best and worst performing games this gen is really, really stark. Games like Ratchet and Clank, Horizon FW, Death Stranding 2, Indiana Jones etc all look better than this and run at like 4x the resolution. It's weird.
