Looks amazing. 60fps at that fidelity? Fuck yeah. Incredible. I can't wait to have power and internet restored so I can play this on my PC.
Strange, unless he just changed it, it didn't make me do that. It looks like it was hosted from xbox.com. and lots of people here use that.
Now if only the Microsoft Store would actually finish my download!
Yeah, I was surprised how well it ran on my old computer (2500k w 970). I started on Xbox One because I didn't really have any faith, but switched over thanks to the save file carrying over easily after I found out it ran so well.Looks amazing. 60fps at that fidelity? This game maybe the cleanest game on consoles with U4. Maybe better IQ than U4.

Easily the best looking linear game on consoles.

Did you try opening it in a new tab (right click, middle click on "View image" or drag-dropping to bar)? It's doing it for me, too. I dunno, just seems weird to me to link images from xbox.
you easily forget the Order and Uncharted 4.
Nah. Looking great yes, but Uncharted 4, and The Order are on a different level.
BF1 looks to have a more impressive SP graphically as well, especially at nearly double (or maybe exactly double?) the framerate.
Game is ready to go on my PC! 2300 can't come soon enough! I'm debating whether M/KB will be better than my XO controller. I'm so used to playing all the other gears game with controllers.
Perhaps you should recheck UC4 if you think these textures are "not that great".??? Maybe I'm blind but those textures don't look that great to me....
How can you compare this to Uncharted 4?
I'm not the one that started the derail, just trying to find out why one bland TPS is considered a game while another bland TPS isnt

I'm going to take a wild guess here on why some people are saying they think that Gears looks better than Uncharted.
Mind you, I haven't played either of them yet (waiting for gears to unlock) but I have seen plenty of screenshots and videos of both.
What it may be is overall visual consistency. Every time I see a gears shot there isn't anything there that pulls me out of my immersion. The visual detail and fidelity seems to be consistent throughout or grows slowly over the coarse of the game in an non jarring manner where it starts at good and gets great. While Uncharted on the other hand will look absolutely amazing at times and then I see a picture or scene that has rocks or terrain and my immersion is shattered so hard I feel like the game should apologize to me. When you have some of your game that reaches incredible graphical fidelity and then something is introduced along side it that is almost just as far on the opposite side of the scale... It's jarring to say the least.
I think that some people are probably able to enjoy the world in gears more since it seems to be more realized in gears due to being more consistent visually for them. Maybe those visuals never reach as high as the highest notes of UC4 but it would seem that they hit high enough and stay there.
See my comment here.

I get that people love to praise UC4 but it isn't untouchable, this game is technically brilliant and if one thinks it's the best looking game out there then that's a very valid opinion...just as valid as someone thinking UC4 looks the best.
The best part about Gears is that it does not half ass anything...something that even UC4 is guilty of (low quality motion blur, TAA dithering, shadows)

I'm sorry, but these screenshots aren't that amazing looking, like at all. ..
I know this game can look better than this too.
So it bothered you when it was done to U4, but this didn't bother you? How convenient.
I am more impressed with how much they manage to squeeze out of a 1.2 TF box than anything else tbh. Does campaigns use dynamic resolution or just MP.
You're watching videos, not playing the game. It's visually astounding at pointsMaybe I'm watching the wrong videos but this game in no way comes close to being among the best games visually out right now. But it does look good overall.
but I would say gow 4 is more impressive only because it stands on a equal footing running on a less powerful console
What you forgot in your analysis is that Uncharted has much more open areas, and is definitely not as confined as Gears. I believe that the former is still more impressive while managing to do more on-screen, but I concede that the weather effects are quite stunning in the latter.
Have you played it to come to the conclusion that it doesn't have open areas? What you forgot in your analysis is that Uncharted has much more open areas, and is definitely not as confined as Gears. Gears 4 has many open areas.
I agree with the first two paragraphs and that Uncharted 4 cuts corners to look that good, but you also have to keep in mind that GeOW4 doesn't half ass anything because there are several modern techniques it completely lacks. For instance, I recall reading from the Nvidia guide that the game (below Insane settings, that is) doesn't even use Bokeh DoF. Now, mind you, Uncharted 4's implementation isn't very good, but I think even low quality Bokeh trumps Gaussian. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the guide also mentioned GeOW4 lacking subsurface scattering on characters in gameplay, used in cutscenes, though. In addition, as others have mentioned, the areas are generally much smaller and the vegetation density is much lower in GeOW4. Again, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think particles in GeOW4 receive shadows as well.Perhaps you should recheck UC4 if you think these textures are "not that great".

If you think that question was "defensive", you're too sensitive.I watched the walkthrough -yeah, I succumbed...sorry!-...Does that count? Uncharted 4, I have finished. So I have an idea as to which one provides the bigger areas. You should relax when it comes to Xbox One games, as you have been on the defensive lately.
The PC port seems so good that I pretty much have to buy it as a show of support. 980ti should destroy it.
It does. The game at Ultra at 1440p and 60FPS is god damn amazing.
Does the game support DSR or have some kind of in-game supersampling?
I'm using a 1080p G-sync set, so I'm keen to supersample a bit.

In game scaling is there and works great
It does. I've been meaning to mess around with supersampling from 4K to 1080p with the 2 Insane options turned on just to see how it looks.
