I read that whole translated article and it mentioned AMD and Nvidia as being possibilities. What if the dock box has a apu, and the "host" hand held part has one as well. WHen they are connected the performance is split for one part doing the actual image display the other doing the other brunt?

Like a hybrid sli. Both can be gpu's but depending on what mode its in act differently one is used as a cpu, the other as a descrete gpu.

If it's at least in the ball park of XBox one or close like at least 1tf or 1.2tf I think it can be a something I would be interested in if the software was stellar and games were renderd when in base mode at native 1080p.

That's the deal breaker for me, dedicated controller and native 1080p when docked. Not 720p upscaled.

I guess that's the dock then?

Some extra info would be welcome ;l

Kind of looks like I imagined it thanks to all the mockups, excluding the shape of the dock. Hoping it looks sleek and not like a toy though

Looks like that box of the left communicates wirelessly with the controller and is connected to your TV. The thing at the bottom looks like a charging/docking station?

The bottom thing looks a lot like the dock on the left side just at a different angle. It's pretty common in schematic drawings/sketches.

From what I understand, dock and performance booster and separate devices. You plug booster to dock and place screen on the dock. Weird that they chose this design, wonder if it's impossible to implement the booster inside the dock?

God I cannot read sloppy handwriting.

I can ask my mom to translate when she gets off work if nobody posts translations by then. (lmao I never thought I'd be typing that on GAF)

edit: oh thank god someone else did it.

Maybe this means there will be two retail choices for the NX. One with the booster and the other without?

The translations for the post are quite confusing in their current state, but it'll do.
Not sure if it is saying that the dock has some extra power to it as well, but I would be quite interested in how they make that work if that's the case.

Nvidia and AMD? Oh man, SuperMetalDave and HappyNintendoFan are going to have a FIELD DAY with this.

Also, if real (which I doubt) that may confirm power in the dock upgrading the power of the system.

SuperMetalDave and HappyNintendoFan have been claiming that NX's handheld will use DMP instead of Nvidia.

They also claimed that NX was more powerful than PS4.

True, but they have been 100% confident about the AMD stuff for months.

The very first picture shown on screen of the Gamecube at Space World on Aug 24th, 2000 -- did not remind me of a lunchbox, but rather, a washing machine front loader.

Even though I wasn't really convinced by that rumor (read too much like a rumor/patent mashup, like those old controller fakes) I'm actually really fond of that portable SCD idea.

Like, it's totally an insane complication from a UX standpoint, but I'd love to just pop $50 or so on one of those every couple years instead of a brand-new system.

The Chinese drawing was basically a Wii U made smaller with a battery added to the base unit. I mean, you had the box that powered everything and had the hard drive and storage, you had the handheld unit with screen that the box streamed to (that required the box to do anything), and you had the dock for recharging.

In that concept, the handheld didn't require the box. It just benefited from it.

The separate box just to connect to the TV thing was dumb - I'm already confused by the rumour of both a dock and the handheld having TV out - but I like the idea of having performance module be the charger. I'm not sure how practical it would be and how cheap it would be to replacement, but that would be a nice way to have decent power and portability.

I mean basically we all already thought of

-NX tablet
-dock/SCD
-SCD

The problem with that rumor was "oh you need to take the SCD thing with the NX tablet just to play games on the road". It made no sense.
