Disaster day of crises (Wii) new screens

Is it really so hard to reserve judgement on a game until after you get proper media on it? Does having an opinion on the game now as opposed to after you have gotten proper reviews, screens, vids, and impressions get you any kind of prize? I don't think any of you are going out to buy the game tomorrow, are you? It won't kill any of you to just take a "wait and see" approach.

Like wait until...like Monday perhaps when the embargo lifts on the NoA media summit where I bet this game is shown?

Fair enough.

Also, considering that we have seen maybe 10seconds of an old build in motion. People are way to quick to judge things.

Would like to say it looks nice, but I still feel the complete lack of anything substantial. Nintendo, why do you hate the companies you buy so much? Just tell us what the fuck this game is, please.

They're so damn shit at advertising anything without "Wii" in the title :(

I just saw the screens, and i don't get the hate. Considering the power of the wii, that the game is open-ended and that most GTA games and clones on the xbx and PS2 looked worse than that, I don't understand where the hate is coming from.

Heh. The game still looks like a mess, and I still can't fathom why Monolith is even making it.

They are obviously using most of their resources to work on the secret Matsuno game.

The graphics look adequate. It's not like anybody bought the Wii for graphics anyway. I'm much more interested in how it plays, and we still have nothing as far as that is concerned.

Agreed. These screens are really too bad to understand something.

I love the premise and I've always wanted to play those disaster games on PS2 so I looking forward to this more than a lot of other titles. Yay for Monolith for not making just more RPGs.

Uh, we don't really know that yet, do we? I thought that was simply an assumption made based on the smattering of info that's been released to date.

Best plot ever:

In Disaster: Day of Crisis you play as Ray, who a year ago lost his friend and co-worker, Steve. The story centers on Ray's attempts to rescue Steve's sister, Lisa, from kidnappers. His efforts are challenged by a series of natural disasters such as volcanoes, tsunamis, and hurricanes. On top of that, Ray has to foil a terrorist plot to set of a nuclear bomb.

Best gameplay ever:

Gameplay will work by moving around with the analog stick on the Nunchuk. The Wii Remote pointer aims whatever weapon or item Ray has equipped, which can be used with the B Trigger. Ray can also stop to help the wounded. One level shows Ray trying to escape a tsunami in a car, which is controlled by the player holding the Wii Remote in a horizontal position.

GOTY confirmed. :lol

That part you didn't bold is also great stuff.

Kidnappers, volcanoes, tsunamis, hurricanes and terrorists....Day of Crisis indeed, I'd rather stay in bed if I were you Ray!

Yeah but we already knew about the bombs and the terrorists. The fact that it's now PERSONAL is even funnier!

Edit: I hope in true Monolithsoft fashion the kidnappers and the terrorists are actually DIFFERENT factions, each with their own silly acronym and agenda.... but in the end the twist is that they're all being controlled by the SAME person using different aliases! :D

This has to be a joke. I hope at least you can unlock Jack Bauer as a playable character :lol

that would be something. my money goes to the terrorists being the real evil guys and the kidnappers just pawns in their game, until they realize they've been used and team up with Ray. :lol

I think we already know the kidnapper...

I bet Steve isn't really dead either, and he's really the one behind it all. He wasn't kidnapping Lisa, but trying to get her to safety before he unleashes the APOCALYPSE PROPHECY upon mankind to cleanse the Earth of the evil mankind has done. The nuke that the terrorists stole is merely a decoy to lure Ray out, because he is the chosen one who will be sacrificed at "that moment" for -that purpose- so that [what was prophecized] would come to be.

Been really looking forward to this game - it's like everything SOS: The Final Escape (or Disaster Report) was, but MORE! :D

I would love it if there was some sorta Double Dragon/Metal Gear double cross.

Ray: "Oh, I found Lisa! Thank heavens! We can go now, Steve."
Steve: "Not so fast."
Ray: "Whaaa?"
Steve: "It was I WHO KIDNAPPED LISA ALL ALONG!"
Ray: *GASP*
Steve: "Now I will fight you, for ownership of Lisa!"

*Wiimote boxing mode triggers*

:lol if Monolithsoft haven't finished yet, I hope they're taking notes

I'm confused.

If the nunchuck is used in the game, how can we hold the wiimote sideways to control the car?

You'll probably get prompted to unclip the nunchuck when you do driving sections, and then prompted to attach it again to the Wiimote when you're done...like in a certain section of NMH.

Ah, yeah you're probably right.

You take it out. Its obviously a scripted event as is. Its unlikely you can just get in and out of the car as you please so you wont need to put the nunchuck back in until the events completed and using the car is done.

So it's 24 + a tiny bit of Eternal Darkness?

First off: objectivists aren't allowed in this thread.

Secondly, why can't we get some real screens and actual footage??
