Disney Buys Marvel - Your Crazy Game Ideas?

Hay guys remember how ESPN got bought by Disney and it's now all Wizards of Waverly Place reruns?

Oh, what? That never happened?

Get over your goddamn selves, Disney owns plenty of companies that don't shoehorn some tween agenda in, there's no indication whatsoever that Marvel is going to be ruined. And it's not like the House of Ideas has been some bastion of non-embarassing crossmarket pandering as of late anyway.

I doubt Marvel characters are going to show up in Kingdom Hearts. After all, we haven't seen the Muppets yet, have we?

Are you saying....that Marvel Characters are below the Muppets?

In terms of GAMES the majority of Marvel games are made by Activision. In the larger picture it may mean Disney Interactive Studios may have more control over their game properties. It might also mean more games for THQ (who do the majority of Disney licensed games, are are doing Marvel Superhero Squad) or more for Activision.

Or to go on a nutty, incomprehensible tangent:

Marvel Vs. Capcom
Marvel = Disney
:.
Disney + Capcom

And I just realised

Iron Man video game, made by Sega
Marvel own Iron Man
Disney own Marvel

People are confusing the Disney brand with Disney the company. Disney the company is much bigger than just the Disney brand, which focuses on tweens and children.

Aw crap, I just realized this is probably the final nail in the coffin for Howard the Duck.

That nail was put in years ago.

I came in here and thought Disney bought Capcom for some reason. I wonder what this will mean for the Marvel vs Capcom 3 game (if it happens). I'd love to see the Incredibles in it at least.

I imagine the Marvel license will be kept seperate from other Disney properties. So it'd depend on whether Capcom wanted to shell out more for other licenses.

Marvel was on their way to becoming a huge powerhouse too. This is kinda sad, I hope they remain a separate entity from Disney at least like Pixar did.

When does Activision's Marvel license expire? I would think that the Marvel games would be sent over to Disney's internal studios if they get the game rights back.

I hope not, Ultimate Alliance and X-Men Legends games are awesome. :(

I want to see Cinderella battle Mary Jane for Peter Parker's heart. I want to see Snow White and Sleeping Beauty wrestle to see who gets Logan(Wolverine). In other words, a Disney Princess Marvel Super Heroes Love Battle Simulator. :lol

So does that mean that Spiderman, Ironman, Hulk, etc movies will now be done by Disney instead of Sony, Paramount, Universal?

This is gonna suck.

Pixar created Spider-Man movie?!?!?! Nah, that would suck.

How about Winnie the Pooh and The Sinister 666. Third person action game!

Well, they probably can't squeeze out of existing contracts. Spider-Man is booked with Sony for four more movies. X-Men and the Fantastic Four are tied to Fox, no idea for how many more flicks. Iron Man and Hulk were both Marvel Studios pictures distributed by Paramount, so Paramount actually had nothing to do with either creatively. I believe Marvel Studios' plan was to keep all the licenses in-house as they expired.

If Disney leaves Marvel Studios more or less alone (and I can't see why they won't, they're not a meddling company unless money is being lost), the movies should continue as they have been, just probably distributed by Touchstone instead of Paramount.

Disney has been very successful with these big-budget action movies through in-house production of co-production.

This seems like a very good match but I'm curious to how the current Marvel videogame properties will be handled. They are very valuable, especially the movie licensed games.

you just reminded me that Fox has been slowly butchering the Marvel movies one by one.

All game deals done before the buyout will remain in tact. You better pray Capcom finalized a MVC sequel deal before today!

Really I thought that Marvel had either hit their peak or was near their peak. It seems to me that once Iron Man is done they only have solid B tier franchises left.

I'm not a big comic book fan but have Marvel created any new franchises in these last few years that folks are excited about? It seems like they've just been working on stuff they've had since the 70s.

edit: 60s!

Disney's High School Musical and Marvel Working Girls Sing It Starring the cast of High School Musical, Hannah Montana, Millie, Chili, Nellie, Sherry, Patsy, Tessie, Hedy :lol :lol

You can already watch every Marvel Animated series on toon disney. So it was inevitable. Hopefully the video game universes dont mix.

Dead seriousness, this could end up being integrated into KH3. Since I don't think its even past concept art, if its even at that point yet.
