I was honestly surprised they were considering Tron 3 in the first place since they have Marvel and Star Wars movies now.

Fucking bullshit.

Tron and Legacy aren't great but their worlds are fun enough to get visually lost in it. Too bad. Hope Daft Punk at least put out an inspired-by album or something.

Just bring back Tron: Uprising and give it one more season to allow season one get some resolution (damn cliffhanger!!!). I'd much rather get that than Tron 3, but it seems more Tron animated or live action isn't too likely :-\
You will get an unsatisfying cameo in Kingdom Hearts 3 and like it!

To be fair it wasn't like they were a blameless victim. Their marketing for John Carter and Tomorrowland was shit, Lone Ranger in general was shit, and Tron as a movie wasn't awful but it was kinda "meh". For many people the only reason to watch it was the pretty colors and Daft Punk soundtrack.
TBH, I was (am) one of those people. Flawed plot notwithstanding, it was breathtaking to watch.

Man, Aladdin seems tempting, but can you imagine how IMPOSSIBLE it would be to recast Genie now?

Yunno what'd be fun? Lilo & Stitch. Do that live-action.

And go all in on a huge 3D CGI animated DuckTales revival.

Just keep Genie as Robin Williams, they have the tech!

Oh you want to take Tron away, and you want to take Hawaii away from me too?! NUH-UH

Yes, some people love Tron Legacy. Amazing how different people like different things.

Calm yoself, I wasn't speaking ill about Tron Legacy. I don't personally like it, but there are a lot of cult movies that people generally want sequels to that come up a lot, and Tron Legacy doesn't seem to be one that gets mentioned. So I was surprised when I come in here to see a bunch of angry reactions to a sequel cancellation for a movie that didn't seem to have a lot of groundswell anyway

This absolutely kills me. I really loved Tron Legacy. I'm talking it's one of my top ten favorite films. Especially with how the sequel teasing was, to just leave the story open like that makes me pretty sad. Really hope they can turn around and change their minds.

I was always surprised when got those couple updates on it. At this point, the Marvel stuff would make this borderline redundant.

John Carter was kinda shit too. I mean, the best thing I can say about it is that I don't remember it well enough to say much bad about it. Haven't seen Tomorrowland yet.

I think the movie is serviceable enough. Certainly better than it had any right to be. But it really is just a stunning movie to look at, and is still one of the greatest 3D movies ever made.

They had everything set up for a sequel, the characters, the plot, even Bruce Boxleitner's model for Tron and that Flynn Lives Epilogue and they are not going ahead with this ? come on !

Of all the shit Disney has pulled out in recent years Tron: Legacy was actually the most decent one, had a fantastic setting and even had good acting in it.The movie made $400 million and while that isn't close to billion that Disney might have expected, they could have with some changes. Legacy is one of my favourite movies in recent years, there are very very very few movies that nail the look, feel, sound and theme as well as it did.

I'm going to the grid and not coming back.

Sums it all up the sequel tease along with everything else makes this so sound.

Tron Legacy was fun. It wasn't that good, but it was fun. I would have liked to see a third movie, so I'm a little bummed by this news.

I watched both Tron, and Tron Legacy for the first time last month.

... thought they were both okay. Nothing great. Legacy of course had the amazing soundtrack and looked pretty... I will say Olivia Wilde was <3

Aside from that... was pretty meh on the whole thing.

The only real crime here is we were potentially robbed of more Daft Punk kick-assery, though who's to say if Disney could have gotten Daft Punk to come back anyway.

I've said this before.

Glitch Mob would've been a much better choice.

If anything too Legacy is definitely is one of my favorite movies to chill out to on Blu-ray.

No sarcasm, but that was my favorite part of the soundtrack. The arcade lights and the music coming on with the 80's rock. I was momentarily transported back to my childhood, and it was amazing.

Me too man great scene. Big fan of the Tron world though. Even binged watched the series on Netflix!
