yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. I will also probably have to sneak a pledge in from work. D:OS was one of the greatest games last year, so I can't wait to see what they do for a sequel.

Well, I haven't played the Original yet (was going to when the Enhanced Edition was announced and decided to wait), but I will still back this as I'm a fan of Larian, their work, and their philosophies.

... and backed!

I hope this means the Enhanced Edition isn't too far away, I suspect they'll want to release it while the KS is going to generate more interest.

Bit of a preview write-up on RPS:

Excerpt
For their sequel to the extraordinarily inventive Divinity: Original Sin, Larian are seeking to elevate reverse-pickpocketing and other chicanery to an artform. The stand-out fresh feature in Divinity: Original Sin 2 is inter-party competitive questing, which should not only allow for diversity in narrative and objectives, but also allows the studio to build on the systemic simulation of the world. I spent a couple of hours playing an early build set in a single town last week, and while the new origin stories and cleverly branching subplots are the big news, the changes to crafting and combat are just as smart and exciting. For crafting, the big addition is the ability to combine skills, allowing for the creation of a stealth spider (stealth + spider summon) or a rain of blood (rain + blood; heals characters with a vampirism skill). That, in itself, is exciting. There’s a whole lot more to come.

Never backed the first one, just found out about it when I was searching for a game to play.

Bought it after seeing reviews on a hunch and it was one of the best games I've ever played. One of the best magic/battle systems I have experienced. Getting pummeled then learning I can just create a barrier to save myself in the Lighthouse battle was awesome.
Seeing how magic mixed and matched like no other game I have ever played was awesome. It is the sole reason it made a game like Dragon Age:I feel like garbage to me, a button masher by comparison.

I'm backing them this time!

Edit: and backed. I am still on the fence if I want that hoodie, got to read more about it because that's expensive.

Backed the first one and backed this. They delivered everything they promised and game was great. I am a fan of studios games since Divine Divinity.

Shame about the death of the composer. That was always one of the best aspects of the games these guys worked on. I hope the next composer can stand up to the task.

I like their new approach to "questing" or what they calling: situations. Stand-in relays for multiple objectives and potential conflicts. This is the kind of stuff you see in emergent playthroughs of games like eve online only applied to NPC's. Very progressive way of engaging characters and systems far ahead than the rest of this industry. It's about time I put Original Sin to my list of must-plays if it encourages game designs like this.

Backed for 25$. Passed on the first one, not gonna make that same mistake.

I am curious though, is the first game going to be essential to play through to understand the second one?

Doubtful. Knowledge of the Divinity Universe hasn't been required for any of the games in the series thus far.

Holy shit.
In multiplayer, up to 4 players can play together, either cooperatively or competitively.

During competitive questing, you’ll pursue different plot-lines from other players, often because your personal motivations are in conflict with those of the party.
I wish there was a way to back this and get Original Sin I + Original Sin II for PS4.

I opened the Kickstarter tab like 30 minutes ago and it was at 98k, now it is at 150k. :)
