DMC3:SE crazy gameplay videos!!!

Yep, it's the most ass-kicking game on the planet. Capcom is starting to feel invincible again lately.

Holy damn those were sweet.

Please don't fuck up DMC4 Capcom, I'll take that personally.

Same team+, more time and support/faith from Capcom. Fucking up is not a possibility.

When's the PC version coming out

Not a clue yet, but just imagine the possibilty. lots of mods from DMC die-hards. Possiblity to combine Vergil with most of Dante's moves. I can't wait!!

Where's my fucking European PS2 version, Capcom?! Don't make me buy a Swap Magic disc and import the US version...

I'm pretty good at Ninja Gaiden, and I love DMC3, but I suck so much at DMC! Can't make decent combos worth shit!

Fat chance. They probably wont even change the button symbols like in the Oni 3 port.

"PRESS R1 TO BLOCK"

Check the end of the HellSloth combo vid. The guy Royal Guard impacts against that crazy fast combo attack in the final fight against Vergil! That's up there with that infamos SF3 video where Ken parries Chun-Li's super.

Why do you guys think the PC version will be moddable? It's probably going to be a very straight console-to-PC port.

u can mod every pc game to an extent without the need for an sdk to be released

Yeah, I just picked this up.
Some one tell me how it isn't the same as the first two. Cause I'm not getting it.

This looks even more crazy than Ninja Gaiden.
I'm getting this. Wow.

edit: HOLY CRAP @ m1 nelo vid

Yes, this is just the thing I need after an RPG.

C-Warrior, do you hang out in other game forums as well? like IGN or GameFaq?

Nope.

Yeah, with more replay value and better story to boot, what do you know? Welcome to the club.

Seriously, you guys are joking, right? This is some big joke? Because so far this story borders on retarded. Also I am seriously not seeing how this isn't DMC1&2 again with a few new action commands.

What's the problem? The fact that you can switch guns/melee weapons on the fly alone is a pretty big jump in gameplay from the first two.

Yup correct, and just like DMC1 which introduced 3d action genre, DMC3 re-invented the genre by having different fighting styles and on the fly weapon switch.

Yeah....I dont know about you but I didnt play DMC (or Ninja Gaiden) for the story. I came for the ass kicking and I left with my ass kicked :)

If you're just using one weapon at a time, then yeah, you probably won't see much of a difference. However, the minute you start mixing up all the moves among the four weapons at your disposal, you'll start to see where this game differs from DMC1 and 2.

I just watched the first vid and saw Dante performing Strider like sword attacks and G-Rugal style leg upper-cuts. He was doing a lot of those.............

Eh for 20 bucks I'll give it a go but I hate how flashy the moves look now. Instead of seeing weapons and body parts actually connect you just see strider style flash effects. I don't know if I like that.

Does it really make much of a difference? I'm just not noticing it. I guess I'll keep up with it 'cause it's not bad but it hasn't been overly engaging quite yet.

I hope you're not referencing the visual qualities of DMC3, cause uh, yeah. Not really it's strong point.

I realize the DMC stories are whacky-stupid, I was just caught off-guard by someone calling it "good".

The story ends up becoming the highlight as the game goes on. I take it you're relatively early on, so the only story bits you're witnessing is Dante's stupid whoo-ooos. Though that'll change.

And as to DMC3 being like DMC1, uh -- it's the game's sequal. Did you want DMC3 to be a first person shooter or something? The expansions made to DMC3 are combat system, length, story, cinematics and replay value.

Not through control scheme. And, have you watched those videos? The hell are you talking about "I don't see it" THERE ARE 5 FUCKIN VIDEOS THERE for you to do just that -see- my god dude, those aren't "faked" vids.

Dahbomb, you know when handvseye.com will be back up?

They had a shit load of DMC3 combo videos that put MVC2 to shame...but I don't know if they were uploaded anywhere else.

Fair enough.

No, no no. I just mean, people are going on about DMC3 being an excellent game, and so far it's just a bit of a improvement on DMC, which was a mediocre game at best.

Not through control scheme. And, have you watched those videos? The hell are you talking about "I don't see it" THERE ARE 5 FUCKIN VIDEOS THERE for you to do just that -see- my god dude, those aren't "faked" vids.

I was referring to my own playtime. As far as those videos go, I guess I'm not "getting" it, but no, they weren't particularly exciting.

What the?? You can play as Nelo Angelo???

yup, if you beat DMD mode with Vergil, you unlock Super Nelo. He has his own moves from DMC1 (4 cross-slash attack, fireball attack, hand-to-hand combat, powerful dash-slash attack, high-time, plus phantom swords) This guy is M-1 Abrams Tank literally. He is tremendously strong. He has infinite DT. He regenerates his health fast, if only the enemies can hurt him, because he has tremendous resistance to any attacks. He is hard to knock down. Basically you can tear DMD mode apart with him.

That's Vergil... >.>...yeah.

Um, 'THAT'S not flash, that's actually Vergil's katana. The Japan - anime trend/cliche as you know, is that Vergil is so fast you see his blades cut through the air but there is no animation for it because he does it so fast.

So, those white streaks and cuts you see isn't a special effect, those are Vergil's swords wrapping around him as he does his foward+/\ attack.

Now, if what you mean is flash as in "too damaging or intimidating" than Dante is A LOT more modest. Not in his movelist (since it's extensive as ever, see the menu - file listings for those). Somebody post up a Dante combo vide.

When previewers/reviewers/fans said Vergil plays A LOT different from Dante, the whole flash versus stacatto set-up is one of the differences.

People who never play or don't know how to play DMC3, just don't realize how hard to pull off combos likes that, especially the jump-cancel technique. I guess you're one of those people

I guess? Still doesn't make me enjoy the game more, haha. I guess action games just aren't my thing.

I'd keep in mind DMC3 has a lot of RPG elements. The game's combat is always on a steady climb, and I'll admit the first few missions Dante's pretty limited. Even after you've incorperated the crazy combo's (/\ (pause) -mash /\) with rebellion chains. But once you start getting and leveling up styles, buying moves, mixing up your attacks instantly with 4 weapons, you'll get addicted, like nearly everyone else who touches the game.

If not, then I think DMC3:SE's significantly easier difficulty settings probably affected you. Another big difference DMC3 has from the previous DMC games is that DMC3 is a real action game where you need perfection to beat the bosses. You're playing diet-DMC3 right now, maybe that's why you aren't reaching the excitement level, you might be too good for it. Maybe you want to consider trading the SE back and buying the original version with it's harder difficulty?

Oh, didn't notice that. If you typically don't like action games then hopefully DMC3 and it's heavy RPG-like level up system will be your thing. In anycase, I take back the DMC3:SE might be too easy for you comment then if you don't play action titles that much.

I'd like it a lot more if there were separate settings for BGM and Sound Effects. Seriously, this music is pain.

So far you've mentioned the story, the graphics, and now the music...none of which are the real attraction to the game.. I think you might be right, action games like this probably aren't for you.
