I thought rumor had its final form would be Fire/Dark. Think it was Fire/Dark at this point. Either way, if not true and goes Fire/Fighting then I'll have to change my starter. So tired of that combo.

I don't understand how someone can like 3 more than 2. Totodile and his evos are great, fucking fire badger is big pimpin. Chikorita is, well, chikorita.
Blaziken? please. gen 3 fire is the worst starter of them all, bar none.

I actually enjoy kens cleaner art more actually but i think both are preety damn awesome
As for startersni didnt really like gen 1s trio i enjoyed gen 2 a bit more feraligator and thyphlosion are awesome.
Gen 3 had blaziken and that was also awesome as well also shows ts badass cuz ts the first one to jump in ubers (suck it everyone else jk)
If i had to go with favorites though it would have to be empoleon that 14 type resistance or was it 15? Anyway empoleon is my favorite

Blaziken is just awful.
There are weak starters in every gen. Gen 1 has the advantage that the designs are very basic and universal. A tortoise, a dragon and a dinosaur. Hard to go wrong with them.
It suffers from the sphere head syndrome. It doesn't look like a functional creature.

It looks cool, but the idea that if its tail-flame goes out, it dies is really so stupid. Metapod's more useful.
The pokedex entries are always ridiculous and shouldn't be taken too seriously.
Torchic wasn't so bad. Blaziken would've been cooler without arms :b

But seriously, I prefer Blastoise, but have no real preference when it comes to the Gen 1 starters. Now, you talk about Gen 2 and mess with my Feraligatr then we got a problem.

Pretty hard to beat
The first game had some really nice watercolour artwork. Dunno why they changed the art style in the later games. They nailed it the first time.
Because "artsy" doesn't sell as much :/

When I watched the cartoon, I always despised Ash Catchum. I hated him so much that when I played the game, I did my best to catch the same pokemon that his rival Gary had in the cartoon. My favourite of these was the mighty Gyarados.
I also had Nidoking & Arcanine.

Honestly, I personally hate entry hazards and hated having to have a Rapid Spinner on-deck in my team for a while. But my friend is a huge Charizard fan and gets riled up when SR is brought up so I know how Charizard folks feel.

Charizard 4 Life - Charmander was my first Pokémon. Still have the same save file since release on my Red cassete and still play it now and then.

Charizard represents, to me, the best era of Pokemon. He's also a fairly decent Poke as a whole. He'll always be one of my favorites and will always have a place on my team, assuming he is available.

As you can see, that pic doesn't even include the V starters. Have you even played anything past the first two?
III and IV are the only gens with a cool grass starter. IV also gets the best water starter, who happens to be the BEST starter of all. lll and IV also get two of the three best fire starters. V gets the third best grass and water starter.
Meanwhile, Gen l and ll have two of three worst grass starters, including the single WORST starter in Chikorita. They at least get cool water starters.

Gen 1 gave us a dinosaur, a dragon, and a mecha-turtle.

They did make a better trio. Twice actually. X/Y will probably make it three times.
