Do women prefer buff guys?

Chris Hnnnngsworth in Thor has what I think is objectively the sexiest body I have ever seen.

If I had to say the best body I've ever seen it would probably be Lou Ferrigno back in the day (had to get a full-body shot since legs are my weakness).

I actually preferred his body over Arnold's since I like a slightly thicker waist. He brushed by me in a hallway this last Dragon*Con but I feel weird about bothering celebrities so I didn't talk to him.

Please tell me he's not a total jerk so I can keep lusting after him with my morals intact.

He came into the restaurant where I used to work. I waited on his table. Super nice and SUPER charming. We'd get celebrities in the place from time to time and you were strictly not allowed to ask for photos or autographs. I might have kept a copy of his receipt though. >.>

i like muscles or ...'skinny' i guess. either is fine as everyone seems to have a different physique. im more of a hair girl anyway. a guy with nice hair is always a plus.

the one thing i cant stand is chubby. to me, it just shows the person doesnt have any motivation or ambition. when chubby guys would message me online for online dating id almost never read their stuff.

Overall build nothing wrong with that, but nothing will EVER compete with Arnold's pecks. God damn that bro was born with the chest of a god.

Apparently science has also proven that the shoulder to waist ratio on men is just as attractive to women as hip to waist ratio on women is to men. So even though we're currently marginalized, the people behind Hindu gods and anime protagonists got it right?? (Go for the wide back, ignore everything else that doesn't exercise the brain)

That probably made sense to none of you, but I don't give a shit. There's my contribution for the year.

EDIT:
Girls like clavicles.
I have sick clavicles and *am known to drum on them completely spontaneously..

*Known by myself... also a couple Korean chicks that made me realize what the eff I was even doing

Not having a whole lot to do with body types but has anyone here ever seen End of Watch? I was driven to distraction whilst watching that movie. Up until... you know. :(

But the bromance in that movie was adorable.

Makes sense..... Back day has now been upped to two times a week.

Guh. More with the jealousy.

Well, he has them, but he's not my body type at all. He's a buff guy. No one would ever call him 'slender' lol.

Oh, then I misremembered.

Oh my God, I've been laughing at something non-existent for two years. Every time cheekbones are brought up.

Shit.

Big traps hnnggh.

Fucking traps dammit..........

I have a pretty huge fucking chest and arms but traps are something genetically that aren't easy for me. I'm trying but its tough yo.

Thinking about finally doing some gear for it but.........idk been natural up until now.

Yeah, Arnold definitely had the better chest. He also oozed charisma, which is why I'm actually more attracted to him. Ferrigno just happens to be more my style aesthetically.

Haven't seen it, but Michael Peña is a cutie patootie.

Social issues. Yes. That's what "do women prefer buff guys, because I saw these pictures of Justin Beiber" thread is *really* about. A social issue, much like the harassment of women or the marginalization of men's emotions or the institutionalized racism minorities face.

I may have mispoke when using the term "social issues" as broadly as I did, considering the context of the forum that I am posting on. If I offended you, then I apologize. However, by definition, sexual selection from the female perspective speaking in general, societal terms is indeed sociological by definition. I probably should have used the term "social discussions" in order to avoid confusion.
Did you see a single GirlGAFFER saying "all women like x"? If someone actually DID say that, then I'm sorry I missed it, but I don't recall ANY girl here saying "all men like x."

I am not sure where exactly this is coming from. Mind elaborating on what you mean, specifically, here?

You're painting a false narrative, and then accusing the thread, inexplicably, of not being intellectual enough for you... in what is essentially a subjective "what do you find attractive" thread.

Of what am I painting a false narrative of, exactly? The thread was created by the TC in the hopes of ascertaining, on a broad scale, if women tend to prefer more muscle bound men. It was immediately met with complete dismissal, and contrary to what you are stating, turned into a "what you find attractive" thread after the fact. In fact, I was even casually accused of (at least) being passively misogynist by Devo for voicing my displeasure at how TCs query was met.

If you don't think GAF is enough to form a representative majority opinion, then criticize the person asking the question to a not-representative sample.

This really isn't logically sound at all. Just because the forum does not represent a representative majority does not exclusively indicate that they are ignorant on the subject being discussed, and can not post insightful and informed opinions on the subject.
All I see is you criticizing someone sharing their opinion, and trying to paint it from a superior position of "WELL ACADEMICALLY THIS FAILS."

Elaborate, please, because I'm not sure how pointing out that the logic employed by posters early in this thread to dismiss the TC's question was faulty is indicative of me trying to disregard their opinion.

Perfect guy body IMO. I'm swole but I wish I had the genetics to get that shape. Dem ape arms.
Did his pecs just tell him a joke?

Erm....I am seeing no 'demonizing and degrading' in this thread. In this thread, I am seeing a bunch of different women talk about what kind of guys they find hot, with varied results. I don't find the same kind of guys hot that Devo does. She doesn't find the guys I find hot very attractive.

Where is the demonizing?
In general, the trend is overwhelmingly favorable to tall, thin men with a bit (but not an excessive amount) of muscle. There's a lot of variation on that theme but the body builder types don't have mainstream appeal to women. Men sort of gender projected that.

Saw this a year ago but I think it'd be a good read for people here

Tinder also conducted studies to try to glean more insight into user’s behaviors. In one survey, women were asked to swipe through a series of photos of handsome male models. In almost every instance, the women swiped to the left, dismissing the men with chiseled faces. When asked why, the women said that the men looked too full of themselves or unkind. “Men with softer jaw lines indicate that they have more compassion,” Ms. Carbino said.

Yeah I agree Ferrigno had a more balance build. Arnold really REALLY focused on chest / arms in which to this day I feel he is unmatched. His proportions for those are seriously Greek God like.

But Ferrigno was in the same ballpark while having a much better lower half. Arnold from the waist down really wasn't as impressive.

Fuck you guys / gals are making me WANT TO GET THAT SWOLL ON!!!!!!!!!! Not tonight though been drinking but this thread has motivated me to go hard as hell tomorrow.

I am very sweet and soft spoken and not at all dominate...

But I sure like the thought of it.

I could never ever pull it off.

But that doesn't mean I don't get a special kinda HNNNGG when I see Sherlock dominated :p

Same here, the idea is hot as fuuuuuuuu but I just don't have the confidence/personality to pull it off. Still, I much prefer to be dominated than have it be the other way around. That .gif is hot a/f but is it odd I imagine myself being the one on the floor and Sherlock the one doing the twisty horse whip thing? >.>

If we're posting wrestlers I gotta give it up to Ravishing Rick Rude.

Not completely my ideal body (little long in the torso for me), but that man just oozes sex appeal.

And I don't think I have to tell anyone about my love for the Rock.

Edit: beaten by just a few minutes.

Women prefer all kinds of things. It depends on the women OP. Take it this way, it's kind of like your dick. Sometimes, it's semi, flaccid, too hard, hard, meet me halfway, harder than you imagined you would be.etc so too you will find women who have different preferences and are at different playing fields, you get it now, OP? If everyone moved only in one direction, life would be boring as shit.

Terrible analogy.
