Do women prefer buff guys?

Alright:

Bro, lookin freakin GREAT.

I have strong facial bone structure? :O

Yes. You have a prominent brow, visible cheekbones, and a reasonably strong jawline. Deepset eyes like you have can seem intimidating. Your lips are well shaped, while slightly smaller than average for your face width. Add a "hawk-like" nose shape, and you have a set of extremely masculine features. Suck in your cheeks slightly and look at yourself in the mirror; a very minor adjustment to your bf% or just becoming dehydrated, and you'll be really chiseled.

Wife says that face counts more for a lot of women. However, face is also affected by weight quite a bit.

I should probably tone up. I'm not skinny or fat, just right in the middle at a flabby 6'11 185 or so.

Another example of the same phenomenon might be "biker dudes," by which I mean the stereotypical Harley rider with chaps, a beard, and a particularly macho persona. I have never personally known any woman who was in to "biker dudes," but fairly clearly "biker dudes" can do very well with women.

This is the same basic process of supply and demand. If even 2% of women have a strong preference for bearded men who ride Harley Davidsons, but only 1% of men really fit that description, then you're going to have 2x women for every "biker dude" man, and it will result in those biker dudes doing very well when looking for a partner.

Similarly, only 5% of women in America are Asian. I don't believe Asian fetishism is as common as some might believe, but it doesn't need to be: if only 10% of men are particularly attracted to Asian women, then you're going to have 1 Asian woman for every 2 men who prefer them, leading to intense competition for the Asian women's interest.

You can see how this plays out in a variety of scenarios, hopefully. It's possible for an uncommon look to be very successful, even if that look is only preferred by 10% or 5% of the population. It's a factor of supply and demand.

Thanks guys!

Dayum, son!

Your physique is along the lines of what I'd like to look like when I'm done. Height/weight info, pls.

I'm not exactly a tall guy.
1,72 ( 5'8")
72 kg ( 158 lb)
at 7,5% body fat in that pic.

People usually guess I'm heavier, but well.
Currently trying to get to 80 kg (176 lb) just to see if i can.

On a related note: in the late 90's at least you would get some females interested in you if you customized your otherwise inexpensive car. Like keep your Accord nice and waxed and throw some custom fog lights and maybe some nicely tinted windows, etc. Usually went along with a certain style of dress as well.. often similarly "clean" but not expensive clothes.

There are people really attracted to a sense of "identity" based on what seem to be very shallow things; and they base who they are attracted to often from these identities.

WTF, anar. How are you 5'8 and weigh under 160 and look like that when I'm 6'1 and weigh 170? You must have good genes.

No idea tbh!
Low bf is one factor ofc, but still.
And yes, my legs are fine too :P
So I have no idea where the weight is missing

Back pic.
That was 1 year earlier though, and the lighting is pretty advantegeous

Thanks guys!

You're only 158? Shiiiiiiit we're the same height. Maybe there's hope for me after all.

Man, if I was working out five times a week id be pretty damn jacked. With two days a week, I just switched from isolation to full body. I got tired cramming everything in, and I was bored. Mondays I do deadlifts, flat bench, weighted pullups and dips. Today I did squats, incline bench, standing push presses, and weighted chin ups. I'll see if that transforms my body any different.

Huh, I did not know that. Good to know!

Yes, being fit likely plays a role in sexual attraction for most women......

You're kind of incorrect though. Huge huge muscles aren't universally seen as attractive. There are cultures that value more lithe/slim builds.

It's straightforward knowledge that both sexes prefer people that take care of themselves and look good.

What a useless statement considering that what "looks good" varies between cultures and time periods.

You have to define what is "good". Somebody's good is overweight. Half the people in the United States are considered overweight due to their BMI's. If you get down to the point that is.

If you went by health statistics and personal opinions we'd end up nowhere. Only a handful of selected people would be considered acceptable.

I definitely like guys with muscles, it's incredibly attractive, once it starts turning into bodybuilder territory it just becomes unattractive to me.

But I personally like face>body oh and personality too as cliche as that sounds.

pls share workout/nutrition regimen

I usually work out 5 times a week.
Push/Pull/Legs+Abs Split
Three days of working out followed by 1 day off, giving 3 days of rest for each muscle group.
I work in a 8-10 rep range, although I recently tried 5x5 and really enjoy that, too.

Nutritionwise, I don't count calories.
I try to eat every 2-3 hours with 25-30 grams of protein per meal.
Carbs only until 6 pm.
And well, haven't used butter or sugar in years, I don't eat sweets and drink 5-6 liters of water a day, no soda or stuff like that.

i see i see awesome thanks, i'm setting a regimen for next week and definitely appreciate any advice or strategies of other people + their experience. I was thinking of super-set upper, lower, back/core on individual days 30 minute sessions for first 2 months just to get back on grind (shoulder/bicep injury made me stop for a while, and a while turned into months from gym)

All girls I know go after skinny, chubby, or average guys. None of them like buff guys for some reason.

Same. I've heard the dislike of muscly guys quite a bit. I believe it's a combination of stereotypes, not liking the feel, and not wanting to feel pressured to "keep up".

Nice work Anarion and I'm glad you pointed out you started in 2009.

It takes time, guys. Don't start now and expect to look like that this summer.

Yep, most guys can achieve similar results, if they just have patience and stick to their training (which is why they should train in a way that won't result in injuries or overtraining :P)

your back and arms look good. Do you workout your chest?--

Thanks and yes i do... Twice a week sometimes for it even to budge :(

2 years ago u'd laugh.

I do various lifts, heavy to body weight, eat and sleep rite. They just dont wanna grow much. It'll be a focus area for me + legs this fall.

whatever you do men, do not skip leg day. if you and your woman hit the beach and your legs aren't bursting at the seams of your generously sized boardshorts she will dump you on the spot.

you could always be bigger

I SO hate leg day. Especially squats. They're straight from the pits of hell. And, in the past, I would - at best - give legs a half hearted effort. This time, I'm actually doing legs (squats and all), begrudgingly. And it does make a difference.

Oblivion, you know I love you, and I know I've quoted this before, and if it's in any way offensive or bothersome just let me know and I'll remove it, but...
I just have to quote this:

Oblivion
Fetishing muscular manly men in skintight hosery
