Absolutely. I point at him constantly and fervently whenever we're out together in public. Sometimes I ask him to speak African so that onlookers will believe I am one with his people, but then he gets angry and points out that he was born in Kansas City and that African is not a language. I respond by pointing at him with even more fervor and gusto.

I'm from NYC so I have had friends of all races, creeds, and sexual orientations. I am not comfortable with the idea that I might be somebodies token black friend.
