I'm kingwingin on everything since 2004 but I burned that reddit account when I first started dating my girlfriend because I was worried of her finding it. Nothing bad just a lot of depression posts.

I regret using my dumb 1337 name for a lot of things on the Internet. Only things that still have it are my Xbox Live account, because screw paying ten bucks to change it, and my GAF account, which I did request to be changed when I was still a junior, and as such was rejected, and eventually I decided it's just meant to be I guess. Elsewhere nowadays on the web I use "Casey For Homecoming," because it's what people called me in HS when I was nominated prince. The nickname stuck, and I sort of adopted it. It's a good Internet name to use since it gets me to be referred to by my real first name without my last name there to get creeped on.

I personally thinks it's stupid using the one name every where. I used to do that when I was younger but the idea of someone being able to follow my online bread crumbs stopped me.

Generally I use different usernames on different sites, and I often use different anonymous e-mails as well. With all the hacks and database leaks today (even of larger services...) I don't feel comfortable using the same username/e-mail on multiple places.

One pen name for serious writing, and one pen name for erotica writing.

Yes op, I have different names for different places online, some are the same or just similar but as was mentioned sometimes what you would pick is already taken. I do not act like different people while posting on different names though.

I've been using this username since back in the late 90's when I was an active user of #StarWars on Undernet (I really miss mIRC sometimes). I've typically used it whenever and wherever I've gone but a while back I started using other names because somehow this was taken.

So now I have about 4 different ones that I use on a fairly regular basis. It's weird at times because when people address me as one of the others, I don't really feel like they're talking to me.

Online identity crisis? Maybe.

I know someone who does just to cheat on his gf

I sometimes take new names when registering somewhere new thus I have different names through sites that I registered at different times. Only thing where I use something completely different are pornsites. I can't have my porn pals see what I write on NeoGAF, it would be so embarrasing.

That was mainly because my first application to GAF was rejected and I wasn't sure why as nothing appeared to violate terms, but used a different username the second time just in case.

I have a few identities - I tend to use similar usernames across sites and hobbies/interests that overlap. This username is common for gaming sites, a different one for movie-specific sites, etc.
