Do you have one of those "illuminati controls everything" friends?

My friend's mom is a truther. She links all kinds of bullshit conspiracy theories on her Facebook page.

I really don't get the Illuminati stuff. Historically, they were just a group of scientists and free thinkers in the 18th century who apparently had secret meetings to avoid being labeled as heretics by the church. Now they're an elite group of ultra-rich people who control the world and want to fuck everyone over?

And then the 9/11 conspiracy theory about the towers being hit by missiles and not planes. I watched that live on TV. It was clearly a fucking plane....

I had to talk with my grandmother before she would comfortably use her microwave. Probably the same thing. Just a stiff nut to crack, but get his rational thinking going and he'll be on, watching what he says, in a few weeks time.

Its weird to witness so many people roll their eyes at the concept that a % of people run the world.
Then at the same time, you factually know the largest amount of wealth is held by, what it is, 13 families...? They all go to the Private Bildeberg meeting. Their candidates win. Their wars are always fought, people are always displaced for their oil/industries. Are they ex-lizards? Aliens? No. Just greedy fucks that, literally, control the world. The civilian population has no control over its own government anymore. We all are aware of this. This isn't news. This isn't some Alex Jones shit, this is the reality today.

From banking to governments, the wealth goes up to a small % of people. "Illuminati" stuff, ya, sneer at that, sure, at face value.. But, the idea of people controlling the world, a small population, isn't asinine. Its happening in the USA. What is it? 5% control the wealth here, then that number narrows as you go up. These people don't have the common persons interest in mind, or even value us besides people to buy their products or support their lifestyles.

The NSA is spying on everyone. Its remarkable to note we all know this, yet, make fun because of reasons? Not to jump to any conclusions. But, its a thing. Why not respect the opinion to not want to be spied on..? Its not a stretch of the imagination that the NSA can tap into our phones, or any webcam. Since, oh yeah, they are spying on all of us.

Black budget projects are real. Its what the f117 stealth fighter was. Its how the military works. People have been seeing the new-replacement as well, just as with the f117. So, some time soon, we will all see our new stealth fighter, which was an off the books black project. These concepts aren't fake.

People should care about where their taxes are going, but hell, they'd rather reprimand poor people for eating shellfish. Its just the term, a better discussion could be had without the trigger of Illuminati imo. But if you were to ask do a handful of wealthy people control governments, banking, and military? Yes. Thats a certified yes. Do they do shit we can't even know about? Yep. Will they kill us for breaching their privacy or trespass? Yep. Can they remove all of our rights? Yep. Hold us indefinitely? Yep. Torture us? Yep.

Occupy wallstreet was a great example of how the banks control our system. They robbed our nation blind, yet had private security in the form of the NYPD to protect them from protests as they laughed with champagne. Its like, its true, the concerns have been true and coming to fruition. But we can't call it what it is because of reasons. Does a small % of people conspire to change the outcome of x-y-z? Yep.

These people are doing whatever they want with our world. I guess its easier to pretend its not the case. As, well, there isn't much we can do about it.
 
I had a friend who was off the rails with conspiracies like the illuminati and the lizard men making the government use their gandalf machine to summon tsunamis or some shit and promptly lost his number and removed him from Facebook.
 
I have a friend on facebook who's a completely normal girl but then believes in 9/11 and Sandy Hook conspiracies

Obama doesn't matter, its just the office to have control of. The war continued. Obama killed more people on his watch, than Bush. As well as continued what the Patriot act started, with the NDAA. Torture is A.OK, on Obamas watch. Same with NSA and spying. All A.Ok.

Yes. My observation has been that there is a common underlying theme: they do not want to believe or refuse to accept that the world is not orderly. That it is not run by some higher authority, be it a secret government or the real government or aliens or Jews or what have you.

The idea that the world is essentially without order, that no one is at the wheel, and that the whole of society is just a bunch of guys all putting one pant leg on at a time seems foreign to them.
 
It's always what leads them to their conclusion that gets me. Yeah sure, the CEO of Nestle said dumb shit about privatizing water, and it is true that corporations have a lot of lobbying power, but that doesn't mean a secret group is conspiring to control the worlds' water.

This is a false belief that has been explain many times.

No occultic cabal or group like the illuminati wants total control at this time. As various conspiracy videos outright state it's about having the right people in the right spot which would require far less than having everyone in every spot possible. The illuminati wants to control everything but before they do they and other groups as alledged will depopulate the planet and then rebuild things as they please.

Considering Jade Helm 15 and how it's quite obvious the right peddles to these types I figured more at poligaf would see how this situation works.

Both sides hate conspiracy theories yet one side is literally in bed with commercial shills like jones or beck polarizing the country with this shit.

Speaking of which, if illuminati are having all these meetings to decide everything for us, where are these meetings held, if they are deciding everything they must happen pretty often and be pretty fucking long, cause thats a lot of things to decide, you know?

Lets take it back a bit though, given what you know about rich and powerful people, world politics, and human nature in general, what on earth makes you think they would all get together and hold hands to do this for a hundred+ years? If the illuminati were real, the end game would be world domination by a single entity, because the whole point of the illuminati is control and profit right?

Why would that stop at other members of the illuminati? Even if there was a rule that they dont fuck each other, think about how the world economy works. If one small group controls everything why would there be any sort of competiton amongst large global entities? Maybe there are many rival illuminati groups and they are constantly at war. If that were true, surely wed be hearing about dead rich men mysteriously being found every so often.

But maybe they promised each other to keep it noble and to not murder each other mafia style. Oh right thats why this all sounds so familiar.

I dont think the problem is knowing that a few people have the worlds wealth and that they control the govt to a certian degree. However I think that the thought that a few people are basically pulling the strings on every recent major event (Colorado theater shootings all the way to 9/11) was some sort of plot by "the illuminati" to get citizens to behave a certain way, usually in a way that will subconsciously(or through mind control) have the people give the illuminati more power.

People are just not that smart to to make such plans and everything working out in their way

I don't believe in the Illuminati at all.
But somehow I can still answer your questions if you're interested in the rich and powerful and their secret meetings. I'll Use the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement (TPP) as an example. If you don't know what it is:

I don't have such friends, but I always believed those people share some kind of persecution complex and these stories help them feed the beast.

I have a couple of friends that are into conspiricies, but I haven't heard anyone who really believes it. (The illuminati)

In reality, a very basic level of material science knowledge will tell you that heat can drastically reduce the strength of steel without melting it.
 
There was a girl in one of my classes that stonefacedly started talking about how Kanye West killed his mother to get into the Illuminati. I mean, we were talking about music award shows, so Kanye wasn't too much of a surprise, but the rest of that came out of nowhere (I know his mother passed away, but I'm pretty sure that's not how it happened).

I felt really bad for bursting out laughing, but I did. I don't think she noticed due to the stares she was getting, though.

Avery's response never changed no matter what argument the Popular Mechanics reporters made.

"Look at the pictures!"

It's clear the only research they did to make Loose Change was to find the spookiest royalty free music. They never contacted any experts, and never spoke to eye-witnesses. A conclusion was made and the filmmakers created a narrative around shallow research and news clips.

It's pretty amazing that a film made by a bunch of college film students became the most influential movie within the conspiracy theory community given how uncompelling the arguments are.
 
Everyone believes something. People who genuinely accept a chaotic and pointless universe are few and far inbetween. That's why it's kind of a superpower
 
I do think there is some shit going on behind the scenes, and yes some videos makes zero sense, but some do and I really don't think that putting a hand over your eye with three finger raised is something a million of artists did on accident, and that video of the late Amy Winehouse when she says that she was asked to do the triangle hand sign and she refused, I could talk all day about these things but illumnati or not there is something going on.

That does seem to be a major theme. I read somewhere a long time ago that a lot of the 9/11 truthers aren't that way because they hate the government, but rather because they'd rather believe that its all a massive conspiracy involving the CIA and whatnot rather than that a group of lunatics managed to get the better of the worlds greatest intelligence agencies and all the safeguards in place. Not everyone falls under that, but I've noticed that that seems to be true for a lot of people.
 
I believe Evilore is a lizardman, and his minions use threads like this to identify the sheep and exterminate those who know the truth.
 
The biggest problem I have with the Illuminati conspiracy and others like it is that it implies a level of collective, unified competence no organization in history has ever possessed.
 
Oh god yes. I'm just a sheeple because I refuse to watch the Zeiltgeist movie. He believes in the entire spectrum of conspiracies, NWO, 9/11 being an inside job, JFK having two shooters, GMO=government conspiracy, Jews running the world, news media all being government controlled, anti vaxx.

Edit: Oh yeah, he actually believes in Chemtrails. I'm sure there's some more I'm overlooking.
