Do you judge people by their avatars?

I don't judge people but I have this weird thing we're I assume people are the same gender that their avatar is. So it always those me off when someone says "he" to a person with a female avatar.

This is exactly what I do, I can't help it. Turns out there are far less women on here than I'd first assumed.

I don't think I do, but if I read a post and the avatar somehow reinforces what ever impression I got of the poster then I guess their avatar ends up influencing what I make of that poster. It's pretty rare though, but it happens. Perhaps someone makes an exceptionally stupid post and has an avatar to match. The times that has happened though those people have been banned in short order, heh. Anime avatars don't bother me, the only thing I don't like is babies, crying babies in particular. They get my blood boiling.

I suspect my avatar might make some people think I'm more annoyed than I am about something because it is kinda cranky looking, but that's how it goes.

I wish I knew what sort of values or qualities my avatar seems to imply...
You like old PC games... I guess?

It really is all about synergy for me and some avatars/posts are just better for it. Like when you see a guy with a Steven Armstrong avatar make a topic about why people discriminate against sweat pants.

I judge people by the content of their posts, not whatever image they decide to choose to represent themselves.

Despite what some might have you believe, the internet is not always as progressive as you think. Lots of people are still very turned off by perceived gender identity issues, and some immediately jump to conclusions about someone's sexuality.

In my case, I think it reflects my personality. I'm flirty, obsessed with the idea of infatuation, romance, and intimacy.

It's playful and cute. I fucking love it. I don't think gender has much to do with it at all.

I don't need your pity!

It's okay, lawd. I still love you. <3

I take your posts 100% seriously.

Where is your avatar from?

Sometimes I do, but then again I have a Tracy Mcgrady avatar so I shouldn't be talking...

T-Mac was a god though, 5 seconds away from having the same number of rings as LeBron James, smh Ray Allen

but seriously, i had t-mac II and III shoes back in middle school/ wore a t-mac jersey my first day in high school haha, no regrets B^)

Looked through this entire thread for the guy with the Red Sox avatar, with no luck.

So with that said, nope, I don't judge anyone based on their avatar. lol

Yes, but mostly by the expression. If the expression is appears angry or whatever, I've noticed I read their posts in a different tone than I would if there were no avatar.

Understandable.

I picture you as the world's demise psychopath due to your avatar D:

I have nothing but appraise for naoki urasawa (both in art and story) manga. Are you reading billy bat?

I like a shorter avatar so that my stupid comments will take up less space on desktop lol. Whoevers tag is "GAF's Parliamentarian" inspired me (not the stupid comments, just the brevity of a shorter avatar)

No. That's ridiculous to me. They're way off by the side of each post, anyway. I have more reason to look at the posts than to glance at and judge what dumb photo or cartoon people picked for their online alias.

The key is to pick out an obscure avatar, one that few people will recognize. Then you're safe, and those who do recognize it feel connected to you, as you're both in a small fraternal niche.

I just usually look at the avatar and wonder from where it's from. Now that I now people are bothered by anime avatar I'll probably use more of those then!

Only the people who seem to rotate between one celeb, typically a young attractive female. Someone having a folder of [insert_name] full of avatars is a bit strange for me.

I never really judge people by their avatar. I sort of just assume they have a general interest in something, and leave it at that. I've seen tons of smart people on GAF with furry avatars, Sony avatars, Nintendo avatars, pony avatars, and sexy girl avatars.

I'm not into making fun of people for there interest. I'm sure there are a few people who think I'm a furry because of my avatar. The fox girl in my avi comes from a character design art piece I made, and I chose her face because I thought she looked fabulous and adorable. I'm a big fan of girly aesthetics.

I had I huge "problem" with Stortroopers avatars. I kinda associate them with how she would look and that makes here some kind of shape-shifter lol. But right now I just think that it's an amazing one. I really love that illustration of Mary Jane by J. Scott Campbell.
