Do you kill insects?

Only mosquitos are kill on sight.
Every other insect is caught and put outside.
When summer approaches I usually leave a spider in the hallway, and chase any mosquitos in the spiders web. I find it easier than trying to squash them under a newspaper.

I didn't have any issue with insects but one summer...

hoppy joes came into the house. They sting like wasps and they are hyper aggressive and hop everywhere. Found the nest and poured petrol all over it PROBLEM SOLVED.

No joke though, these suckers sting HARD and the swelling and pain can last for a week, I had to genocide them.

Where are you from? That's a curious ant.

If they fuck with my shit, yeah. If not I leave them be. I'll leave spiderwebs up outside my house so they can kill those mosquito assholes.

I usually don't kill insects, but I will toss ants into the turtle tank if they are crawling around near it because it's fun to watch them get gobbled up.

I never kill spiders because they are a net good to have in the house, but when I go into a bathroom and see one of the bigger Dark fishing spiders in there, I nope.jpg right out of there and go to a different bathroom.

Outside, nope.

Inside, I let my Spiderbrehs take care of business, if Spiderbrehs are lazy, I do it myself, mosquitoes are instantly being crushed.

If a huntsman spider gets inside, I try to catch it and take it outside.

My phobia of bugs compels me to squash them in my home. I'm a more hesitant to do so if i'm outside. Ironically I don't kill spiders in my house because they kill the bugs for me. I hate spiders also.

I used to kill spiders, but SpiderGAF showed me of the error of my ways. Now I put 'em outside if I find one in the house.

Flies still get what's coming to them though.

If an insect is in my house, I will catch it and release it outside. If it is too fast to catch, I will kill it. I will always kill mosquitoes though.

Outside, I kill mosquitoes but otherwise try to avoid killing anything. Sometimes I kill bugs on accident when I'm gardening. :( I guess my general philosophy is to avoid killing them if possible.

Also, I admire those of you that purposely leave spiders in your home. I mean, I don't like killing them and will take them outside when possible, but no way in hell do I let bugs take up residence.

Mosquitos, flies, cockroaches and a very specific kind of yellow jacket wasp are on my shit list because they spread disease, or are antagonistic, attack, etc. I usually set homemade traps to lure yellow jackets in particular if they make a nest close to where I'm living.

Considering I have some old books here spiders / house centipedes will kill silverfish. Most of the spiders I have are the small jumping spiders.

I just remembered, when I was kid we had a few potted cacti by a big window, and I would catch flies and impale them on a cactus while they were still alive. I don't think that counts as psychopath indicated behavior though because insects don't count.

The wife is pretty sqeamish when it comes to bugs indoors, so I'm usually required to kill any unwelcome intruders, especially of the arachnid or stinkbug variety. We do tend to get a lot of ladybugs that somehow make their way inside, so them, along with moths tend to get captured and released unharmed.

I try to prevent it but sometimes there is no other choice. What about you?

Just curious OP - do you realize you created this exact same thread, with the exact same opening post about 2 years ago?

Typically I leave spiders alone since they're cool, but I will use wasp spray on anything that flies and sting. Those don't deserve life.

I have a shower spider that chills by my window, I say hi to him every morning. I think my junk intimidates him because he doesn't move much.

Then I have one spider behind my bed side table near a second window, where ants occasionally come in because my apartment complex won't fucking seal the windows.

Finally there is a daddy long legs that chills in my closet, I assume he takes care of the silverfish. He's the coolest, one time I twitched his web and instead of running away he reared up on his hind legs and did a little dance with his front legs.

Please elaborate on this. I am intrigued. I don't normally kill spiders anyway but I do kill me some roaches. Only spiders I kill are dangerous ones(which I havent exactly come across in my home) and wolf spiders. Wolf spiders only because they are very intimidating.

I try to avoid killing anything. I leave alone the common house tiny brown spiders. I haven't seen any bugs or any type of other insects so they must be doing their job and its rare that I see those spiders anyways. I also grab the lizards/geckos with a tissue and put them out in the grass too. All except for cockroaches. They die. I'm absolutely fucking terrified of them. I ran out of roach spray and had an hour long battle with one with stare-downs and waiting for it to come out after missing hits with any kind of long object I find in my house. Damn them.

Found some ant's on the kitchen side the other day, and started making little traps out of things, and blocking them reaching from one another.

Did this for however long it takes to make a tea and smoke a cig'

I felt pretty mean whilst doing it, and ever since then have a strange feeling like I'm going to hell.

When I was a kid I did but I haven't for years, willingly anyway. Why kill something when you can pick it up and put it outside. Why don't you have a choice?

Good luck picking up an entire ant line or blood sucking mosquitoes and "putting them outside".

Anyway, if it's not harmful or annoying I just let it be.

Bloodsucky things and flies. Other than that only what is actively trying to annoy me and only when not succeeding in evicting the nuisance.

Spiderbro and Beebro 4lyfe

Not intentionally. I always feel that it's not my right to kill any animal especially if it's only 'crime' was being an irritant. If I see a spider in the room I realise that the last thing that spider is interested in is me, it's got it's own shit to be getting on with and just because I'm feeling a bit 'creeped out' doesn't mean I should stamp on the poor cunt. Just let him get on with whatever it is he's getting on with. Live and let live.

Ditto. My mindset just randomly changed one day and I just stopped.

I mean, it's pretty terrible to think "oh that's gross and creepy, I should end it's life.".

Any and all mosquitoes will die. Others I don't kill, even spiders.

edit: Oh yeah, ticks. Ticks will die. But then they're not really insects, and neither are spiders, but whatever

Mosquitoes will die whenever the opportunity arises.
Horse flies are basically giant mosquitoes.
Would rather not have earwigs in my home. Smushable. They're slithericky, and those pincers aren't just for show. One hid in my pants and pinched my leg, the bastard.
I'll whack a fly if it's buzzing around during sleep time or being particularly annoying and won't leave.
I'll try to catch and dump spiders, only growing potentially murderous if one is being a disrespectful asshole and dropping down right in my face or some such.
Wasps and bees aren't aggressive here, so unless they're too interested in my general vicinity, I'll leave them be. Indoors I'll always try to get them to fly out the window. They actively want to leave, so just let them.

Ticks I take vindictive glee in murdering the fuck out of. Gross, disease-spreading, worthless parasites. Other bloodsucking pieces of shit just do their thing and then go away. Ticks burrow their head into your skin and stick around for days. The idea of having a bug on/inside of you grosses me out. And then you have to pull it out. If I spot one before it attaches on me or my cat, I will squash its head, flush it down the toilet and let its corpse drown in shit.

Was gonna say they're the grossest bug, but remembered that fly that puts larva on you that burrow under your skin and eat your flesh and you feel as they grow and writhe around in there.
I would genocide those.
