Do you miss the first car you ever owned?

The first car I ever had was a Ford Sierra and that was 17 years ago and I still miss it to this day. So GAF do you miss the first car you ever owned (or parents owned)

When I was 22 and just out of college in 2004 I got my first car - a red 98 Honda Prelude. I had it for six years until I had to sell it for money and get a hand-me-down 2001 Chevy Cavalier from my dad. Not only did I love the car but it reminded me of good times- moving into my first apartment, new freedom, new social life....I just associate it with the beginning of a good part of my life that I miss.

I miss the first car I ever owned in Japan. Chassis code is half of my screen name here.

First car I had in America was only for a few months before I totaled it so never had a chance to really bond.
 
I still own my first but I don't really care about my car.
I see people treating them like they're people almost but I just want them to be easily drivable and not excessively bad looking.
I have a couple of bumps I will never repair and I always wait too much to clean it so I don't think I care enough to miss it once it's gone (in at least five years anyway).
 
I wrecked the first car I ever owned in an intersection. Was my fault, too.

Didn't miss it, though. Didn't have powered windows...
 
Not really. It was falling apart by the time I got rid of it.

In ten years I'll buy one of the newer 5.0 Mustangs out of nostalgia and enjoy that instead of finding an SN-95.
 
Absolutely. First car ever was an '84 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. I adored that car. Terrible gas mileage, terrible handling, hard to park, but damn was it comfortable. Not to mention it was built like a tank so nothing I ever did to it put anymore than a little ding in the car.
 
Mid 80s Chevy Citation. V6, 5 speed. Was a blast driving around in that thing, a shame the tranny took a shit one day and we decided to scrap it and find another cheap car.

Edit: Actually, my first was a 77 Chevy scottsdale, but that thing ended up with a hole under the foot pedals. Decided it wasn't safe enough to drive, what with being able to see the road and all.
 
Hell no. It was a G-reg 1.2 litre Austin Metro in an exclusive "rust white" colour. My second car was a Vauxhall Corsa and I do miss it a bit. I gave it to my Mum, which she still drives now, so I still go in it occasionally. Almost 15 years old and still going strong.
 
I had a little hotwheel, once I stepped on it and smacked my face on the wood floor.

I Don't miss that thing at all.
 
Fuck yeah. The amount of hotboxed blunts and tupac sessions that happened in that old 2 door honda. You will be forever missed.
 
Still the car I'm driving, as I'm not old enough to have burned through cars. '91 Corolla. Got a few quirks, but mostly works great and gets phenomenal mileage, so I'm not planning on getting rid of it soon unless it just plain dies horribly on me.

I'm going to have to do something about the headliner though, around a month ago it began to carry out its escape plan. The way it blows about when the windows are down is making me nervous, not good for summertime.

I'm probably going to miss it when it's finished, though. Been in my family since it was new.
 
My first car was a shitty Toyota pickup that was older than I was. Let's see...

-Parking brake didn't work, so I carried a brick with it to put behind the tire when I parked.
-No heater or air conditioning. I used to drive to calculus class at 7Am in Jan. freezing.
-Gas petal was sticky, when you pressed down, it wouldn't come back up, I would have to stick my foot behind it to bring it back up.
-Gas pump didn't work beyond half a tank, half a tank was basically no gas, I ran out of gas on the side of the road numerous times in the years before cell phones.
-Gear shift once came out in my hand when I was on the freeway. I was holding the gear stick in my hand wondering what the hell to do next while looking at the road wizzing through a hole in the car where the gear stick used to be.

I do not miss that car at all.

Edit: Oh I forgot, it wouldn't start in the morning usually, I would sometimes get it to start by popping the clutch on the hill by our house.

Yes. It was a red Fiat Cinquecento and I loved it. No matter how bad my day was, when I saw it, I couldn't help but smile.
My father eventually forced me to get rid of it, because he thought the car was getting too old and started to fall apart.
Eventually I yielded, and traded it in for the car he recommended. Which was the worst rust bucket that ever saw the light of day.

Kind of. I had a '99 Kia Sephia in purple. It was a fun and zippy little thing, but unfortunately, things would always go wrong with it. It was in the shop at least three times a year, and had terrible reliability. It does remind me of some good times I had with friends, though, and my first year of university.

Edit: Not mine, but this is what it looked like.

2000 Toyota Corolla. I miss it because I use it to pass my driving test. Now my uncle has it, and the car is filled up with cheap-ass car fresheners.
 
HELL no. It was a piece of shit. And I got in a wreck with it (other driver's fault) and it was essentially totaled.
 
I still own it as my only car(2004 VW Polo). However I did just recently purchased a motorbike and didn't really want to get rid of my old one (2004 CBF250)
 
Yeah. I mean, strictly for sentimentality's sake. It was a 96 Toyota Camry I got in 1999. At one point I had all these mods (chip, intake, lights, strut bar, colored hoses). I thought I was pretty cool back then.

2 years later, I was sleep deprived after coming back from a vacation and pulled out in front of a chick going like 40mph and she T-boned it and totaled it.\
 
My first car was 1969 Dodge Coronet. Looked pretty cool and it was only 9 years old at the time, but it handled horribly and the engine was shot and burned oil. It was one mechanical failure after another so it was basically a financial nightmare for a young guy back then.

Be happy with modern cars because reliability, technology and safety is vastly improved compared to previous decades.
 
First car was a hand-me-down '91 Chevy Cavalier that I nicknamed the Shitbox. Don't miss it and will never own a Chevy again.

First car I purchased was a '97 Civic and even though it was totalled less than 2 years after buying it, I still love that car. Tried Mitsubishi and Volvo after that, and neither seemed to be as perfect as my Honda. Now I've gone back to Honda and don't see myself changing any time soon.
 
Right here boys. The 1986 Chevy Suburban...Mine was midnight blue...but had the all-terrain tires.

Damn thing was a tank. And it was awesome. Really, a kid shouldn't have that big of a car as I would always be the driver with way too many buddies back there. Hell, towards the end of high school, we would have 10 people keg parties in the back.
 
My first car as a 2001 Chevy Malibu LS with 55k miles at the time.

Compared to what i have now, no.

I did have the tranny fluid changed, my father uses it for a work car. Its never had a mechanical breakdown (knock on wood). She smells like gas under the hood from time to time. The recycled air switch failed, and recently the tail lamp wont function but will illuminate when the headlights are on.
 
Yes, very much so. I had a 1966 Ford Mustang in excellent condition. It was lost due to the engine catching on fire. I miss that car so much.
 
I do,

Had a 1987 Ford Escort RS Turbo, it was a total dog but I loved it, had to sell it after some fairly terminal rot set in though. :(

Own a much better car now but god I miss it!

I'm still driving my first car. It's a white '98 Oldsmobile Intrigue. I bought it in 2007 for $2100 and it has held up very well.
 
I definitely do.

I had a 1979 Toyota Corona wagon that remained in pretty damn near pristine condition the entire time I had it - it was previously my dad's car and was originally purchased by his dad back when it was first put on the lot, so there was some sentimental value to it as well.

That and it had power nothing (and, admittedly, very little engine power) and was rear wheel drive so you very much felt the car as you drove, which I haven't experienced the same way in anything since. It was a ton of fun to throw around corners in the winter.
 
I still drive the first car I ever owned, 15 years old now. Still good (not looking too hot though, but as long as it takes me from A to be B that's all I need from it)
