Do you need a $700 high-tech juicer?

If you want juice, just buy it.

I bought a juicer once, thinking it was what I wanted. You had to clean the hell out of it every time you used it. It also produced a lot of waste.

It's shit. Get a fucking blender and enjoy your drinks with more nitrition, like a man would, with pulp.

Because if you try to sell a turd for 1$ people will laugh in your face, but when the turd is priced at 10.000$ it starts to look desirable to someone.

well maybe the person who made the turd ate gold, ever think about that?

I would buy one if the unit and packets are cheaper.

Kuerug proved there is a market for convenience but the price has to be right.

I'm confused. The thing just empties prepackaged juice into your glass? Or does it do something else? Who is paying 700 bucks for this? I mean I own a Nespresso machine, those things are already overpriced and they're still no where near as ludicrous as this.

This is like that weird Keurig soda machine that served no purpose expect producing additional waste and being more expensive than just buying soda bottles.

It says "cold press," so maybe it gets cold and then squeezes? I have no idea. Maybe you can get dual use out of it and use it to get that last bit out of the toothpaste tube.

This very expensive juicer can connect to Wi-Fi but canÂ’t actually juice your produce

-
"The founder of Organic Avenue, a now-bankrupt restaurant chain that sold stale wraps and overpriced juices, is launching a $699 Wi-Fi connected juicer that can't actually juice produce you've brought home from the store. Instead, the company, called Juicero, wants you to buy its prepackaged, pre-chopped produce, have it delivered to your home, and then insert its proprietary produce-packs into the juicer to create juice. This is supposed to be more convenient.

Juicero juice packs cost between $4 and $10, so it's not like you're saving money on your juice habit here. You're also locked in to buying Juicero's packs, and only Juicero's packs because no one else sells these things and it's (theoretically) not possible to make your own. That means you'd better like the juice varieties Juicero is offering, because you can't create a juice blend exactly to your liking, as you might be able to with literally any other juicer.

Somehow, Silicon Valley's two most famous designers were involved, to some degree, in creating this product. Business Insider reports that Jony Ive and Yves Béhar were both brought in to help. During its testing, Juicero also consulted with noted health experts Dr. Oz and Gwyneth Paltrow, who are reported to have "been blown away" by its juice."

Noted health expert Gwyneth Paltrow.
Why don't they just deliver finished juice?

You know, I just bought headphones for 1400€ so im totally wasting my money on overpriced stuff and i guess I'm the target audience for this "thing", but this is going to far.
I would spend 700$ on a juicer if it was made out of titanium, easily cleaned uber-powerfull while being inaudible.

A lot of these SV start-ups come across as money laundering schemes. There's simply far money on tap than sense. Crazy industry.

Self cleaning is the keyword

Am I reading this right? The machine itself is 700 bucks which seems absurd for something that appears to just squeeze something out of a packet for you. But each packet is $7, and makes one glass of juice? Can't I just go buy a bottle of juice at whole foods for that price? Are they insane?
Even a bottle of Naked juice is cheaper than that. What a phenomenal waste of money.

So this is just an obscenely priced kurieg that smashes shit in pouches?

Apparently A-Trak has been gushing about this thing (without being paid to promote it) forever.

Not for my tax bracket, unfortunately.

Saw the title and thought 'Yeah, I could use a nice juicer, $700 would probably get me something that could juice a non-prepared pineapple.'

This thing though. Don't know who is going to buy this.

there's a sucker born every minute.
Sweet, peeled bananas! Hate having to try to take the peels off.

I got a Vitamix from Costco a few years ago and its a beast. Never overheats, handles anything and fears nothing

also very easy to clean
Yup i have a blendtec. Same class of blender. Worth every cent. They also have long ass warranties on them. A great blender is a good investment.

Or you can buy a blender for 10-20 bucks and get more nutrients, fiber and save yourself a shitton of money (or just eat it).

Why throw anything away..? Juicing has to be the most expensive single product fad in a while.
