Do you still use cash with regularity?

I dont use free email anymore (years) and i leave my phone at home alot, especially when shopping.

I also try not to shop online. If i do i usually get my gf to do it.

I know im being tracked but why should i make it easy.

Mate. You are a terrible person. Putting your girlfriend in danger like that.

I try to carry at least $50 on me at all times. I usually only use cash for food. I buy pretty much everything outside of that online.

I pay with card whenever I can and I almost never carry cash. It's safer and more precise... and easier to keep track of your spending.
Even on vacation I pay most of the stuff with card. Last month I went on a 1 week trip to Sweeden (really nice, BTW) and I don't even know how their money looks

One thing I've noticed since moving to Switzerland is that people still love cash for some reason here.
Everytime I go out with people they want to stop at an ATM to get some cash, in many restaurants/pubs when you ask to pay they expect cash and give an annoyed look when asking to pay with card (they never have the mobile card reader with them), I've heard plenty of customers at stores say stuff like "I'm sorry but I have to pay with card", specially if it's anything under like $20.

I don't really get it. Specially for big purchases, Card is easier, safer, and you just pay what you need to. Like if you are going to buy, say, a TV for $600... why go to an ATM to get the cash and walk around with that much money (I mean yeah it's pretty safe here but you never know) when you can just pay with a debit card?

No, and it pisses me off when I go somewhere in the UK that requires specifically cash. Right pain in the arse to be left completely helpless if you don't have change/notes.

You want to check out TransferWise. Amazing service from the people behind Skype.

The problem is usually with our clients. Some of them insist on paying with checks. Getting money wired to an IBAN is a pain in the ass and takes days.

No. I only keep singles to give them to homeless people.

Oh some gas stations also has cheaper price when you pay cash, so I carry some 20s too.

I go out to group lunches with coworkers on an almost daily basis so yea a decent amount. Sometimes it's more convenient to just throw down a 10 or 20 instead of worrying about splitting the bill over 6 credit cards. Altho stuff like Venmo may bring a change to that soon.

Oh and my medical marijuana dispensary only accepts cash so that too lol.

Yeah I still carry cash more so from when I used pick up drugs regularly for my self or work purposes. Not as much anymore though.

Nope. Apple Pay when I can, if not possible then tap and pay, if not then chip and pin, then swipe, then debit, then cash. I hate cash.

I prefer cash in a lot of cases. I withdraw about $100 a week and use that to avoid spending too much. I know tap and all that is pretty quick now, but it's also really quick to pay with cash. Especially now in Canada, we don't have pennies anymore.

I also live near a bunch of cash-only Asian restaurants, so if my SO or a friend wants some pho or bubble tea I'm ready.

Usually kepp $100 on me for emergencies. My barber and one of the chinese places i eat at dont take Cards.

I carry cash. I usually get out 200-300 every month. It helps me budget my spending a bit better than debt and credit. I use my cash for eating out, drinks, shows, etc. It is my fun money. Plus, when I am going some place that requires tips I prefer using cash. I use cards for bills, groceries, and the general necessities.

I do, yes. Lessens the odds that my card information will be stolen.

If a card reader doesn't have a chip scanner (that is, if I have to swipe), I'd rather use cash. Too easy to get your info stolen. Especially at grocery stores, fast food restaurants and gas stations.

Keep about $100(?) on me..first time I used any was last week when a driver pointed out my rear tire was pretty flat. Can't even remember when I used cash prior..

Also I mean I don't know your spending habits but due to job my spending wildly swing on a day to day keeping track of my account really is mystery. I can spend a 100 on my debit card and it not show until like next Monday, drives me insane

I live in Japan so yea.
In Canada I always used my debit card, never ever had cash on me.
In Japan it's like the opposite. I always have like the equivalent of 200 dollars in cash on me.

Yep. In Australia I would probably have like a dollar on me. Used PayWave/PayPass contactless payments whenever possible. Now I'm in Japan even some restaurants don't take card. Most convenient stores do take the ICOCA/SUICA transport cards though, which I use occasionally but then you have to load them up again - at least the prepaid cards like I have.
