Did anyone have this conversation or intention to have a Wii U party at launch?

The people that come over to these parties...will most likely be wanting their own at some point.

Sadly I have class on launch day... but that means that a lot of my friends will already be together! Probably going to play a lot of 1-2 Switch and then show a bit of BotW off, maybe some Snipperclips. I actually can't wait to play it right now and all these threads aren't helping at all.

I got some preorder stuff for friends that I need to deliver, as well as a group of friends that we will have 5 Switches between all of us, so naturally Bomberman and 1-2-Switch will be played. Should be good times.

We do this for every major Nintendo console, since I'm usually the only one who ever buys PS or MS consoles at their respective launches. Hell, I still have a video up on Youtube from 2006 when we played Wii Boxing, and it's called Crazy Wii Boxing lol.

Nah, I'll spent my time watching other people play Zelda and wishing I'd have a Switch as well. Just don't have the money to splurge €395 for a Switch and Zelda atm. At least there's Mass Effect on the 23rd. I don't have anything to play until the 23rd really so March is going to be hard to get through. At least gameshops are demoing Switch units starting on the 4th so at least I can play on the Switch. Hopefully they have Zelda playable as well. Looking forward to that.

...yes? If anything, Nintendoland made this even easier, since the pack-in game was built for multiplayer, and as a Wii owner I had four existing controllers read to go to playtest Mario Chase and the like.

I just realized those joycons have the strap on them! Did nobody pick that up from the trailer?

We did, though we weren't sure what it was exactly. I was glad to know it was packed in as I expected it to be a separate accessory.

We also found out about the IR sensor from that same scene thanks to a brief reflection.

Would be fun if there were more multiplayer games. No one beyond my young cousins would be interested in getting together just to play 1 2 Switch, and I'm not paying $50 for Bomberman. Looking forward to playing Snipperclips with my wife but that's the only multiplayer game I'll have until ARMS. And I'm pretty sure that's only two-player, so not very conducive to a "party."

Once Switch has MK8, Jackbox, Bomberman's price drops, and gets some other stuff I'm definitely planning on taking it to family get-togethers and parties though.
