It never caused me any pain, truthfully. Just an incredible annoyance for me.even one night sleeping on the floor, carpet or not, is hell for me. you must have a high tolerance for pain OP.
The bed my wife and I have (actually given as a wedding gift), was really nice..Except for the cheap particle wood they used to support the mattress. It was only used on the sides, as the boards running across the bottom of the bed were solid wood. Took about 2 and a half years before they started to break. Not sure why the company used such a cheap shortcut like that, because the entire rest of the bed is rock solid. The best beds are those who only consist of a big mattress. Fuck bed frames.
So jelly. I miss my old mattress on mattress on floor set up.I'm on the floor right now.
Well actually my mattress is on the floor and I'm on top of the mattress.
So comfy!
I have slept on the floor plenty of times, OP. You aren't the only one. I also have slept in a closet in a hotel room, underneath a table (hit my head when I woke up), and underneath a bed. So, nope, not a terrible thing to sleep on the floor... I do it often. I also clap when I wake up.
Actually, really, I don't advise anyone to sleep under anything they can wake up and bang their head against.. like a table. I've slept under plenty of tables in my life and I can tell you it almost always ends up with me banging.

Nah.. well, hopefully when my wife gets pregnant.Get a crib OP.
Tape a pillow to the bottom of the table?
Why are firm surfaces better for your back than soft ones?
sometimes

i had a friend in college that did this. He went through some trauma growing up, that I'm not sure even he recognized, so I didn't give him that much of a hard time about it. He would try to argue sometimes that it was better for one's back, which is just nonsense.
I did the same, until my mum & sisters forced me to get a "traditional" bed. I'm planning on getting a futon, once I get my own place.I sort of do. I have a Japanese style futon. It's pretty comfy.
