Does ANYONE make 2.5mm headphones that don't break eventually? (or last a long time)

have you guys seen the new xbox 360s? the composite cables are just 3.5mm on one end. why isn't 3.5mm just every cord?

What are you even talking about?! Why would MS but 3 consoles or each 3.5mm cord. It be like buying 3 hotdogs for 1 bun and then fixing it by buying 2 more buns but now you have 6 more hotdogs. Just eat a hotdog with a bun and give the other 2 hotdogs to charity.

Hit up a Dollar Tree and stock up on their earbuds, that's what I do. I think you could make a durable pair but it wouldn't be economical I don't think. I've looked for this for a while, and have yet to find one, it would need to have a woven steel wire inside, attached to the buds with a swivel connection. Would also make a great murder weapon...

I wonder if there is a dollar store near me. *looks* Yes, there is. I'll probably buy a shitload of them.

no i meant why isnt every cord 3.5mm at every end

Oh, that makes more sense. Sorry, I was confused. It would be pretty cool. I had a cheep 500W (20W RMS) computer entertainment speaker system that was 4+1 surround sound system I bought at an LA swapmeet back in 2002 that a 3n1 3.5mm jack composite cable would have been perfect for since the front channel would use one and the back channel would use one and then the last one would go to the subwoofer. It would have helped with the cable management when I wasn't playing video over it. I wish had it when I got my 360. This is still a good idea though.

No a headphone per say, more ear buds, but I use these for my daily activities for like three years -
Sennheiser CX 680

They are pretty good, sound good and don't fall out of ears.

I'll second this. I love sennheiser's sports line. They take a beating and I've loved the sound for the size for a few years now.

I have/like the pmx 680. Haven't tried the 685's (on the right) yet.

Basically a cross post from the last headphone thread..

M50x (good quality, and sound)

Monoprice 8323 (terrible quality, and decent sound.)

If you're looking for some toss around headphones, get the Monoprice. They have terrible build quality, but you can replace the cables with any 3.5mm removable cable.

You sound very confused also.

I should've waited a year before getting the M50s since the M50x came out. Sucks having to walk around with a giant coiled cord in my pocket.

OP, you sound like you want something small and easily portable on top of being sturdy. I don't really see that being possible.

I just buy shitty headphones every couple of months and use them while running instead of the good ones. After I started running no headphones, no matter their price, lasted more than a couple of months.
