Does the PS4 Pro Play UHD Blurays?

As a primarily PC gamer I'm struggling to find a reason to buy this thing. 4k blu-ray support would have at least given me some reason to pick one up beyond making a handful of exclusive games look a bit better. Blu-ray playback software on the PC kind of sucks and I occasionally use my consoles for playback.

Makes me want to go with a Xbox One S instead and that's coming from someone who definitely prefers to use the PS4 over my Xbox One. This sort of thing is important to me.

Good point. BR playback has been awful on PC. And I'm not even sure UHD players will even release .

I skipped the One S assuming the Neo would have 4k Blu-ray support. Guess I'll be skipping the Neo, er, Pro, in the long run.

Oofta, that sucks. I was strongly considering getting a PS4 Pro for that very reason. Well, mostly a dedicated Persona 5 device that also played 4K blurays. This makes that decision a lot more difficult.

I mean, either way, I don't have a damn 4K TV anyway, but it still would have been nice.

Same. Not that I'll use it much but I expected it in the Pro. I'll wait till Scorpio and by either that, or if it's lame pick up a pro after the inevitable Scorpio launch price cut.

Agreed. I had an entire list of new PS4 games to purchase once the Pro was released. I'm now on the fence to buy a Xbox S. I have a 400MB down internet connection and a collection of UHD4K movies in digital online format. However online still doesn't hold a candle to UHD playback from disc.
