Does the witcher 3 music really annoy anyone else?

Maybe mine is glitched then because it just seems to be the same music in the main world and this cave I'm
In with the witch, driving me up the wall it's like a guitar string whine

Turn The Music Off, At Least Sometimes

The soundtrack in Wild Hunt is often cloying and overwhelming. At times—usually in cutscenes—it can be just right, but when I explored the open world I sometimes wanted the damned cello solos and wailing combat-vocals-lady to chill the hell out. Try going into the menu and turning down the music entirely. The game feels different; there’s more space as you explore. Every time I do it, I almost immediately stop noticing that there’s no music. I usually turn it back on for main story missions. The problem isn’t really the game’s score but its implementation. Hopefully, someone will come up with a small mod that makes exploration music trigger much less frequently.

It's really good.

*BUT*, if you're in the mood for it, turning the music off is definitely a very cool experience for enhanced immersion. Particularly when paddling around in a boat.

EDIT: Ha, Kotaku totally gets it.

Soundtrack is freaking great. Sure as hell beats the shit out of Dragon Age's Inquisitions quiet ambient soundtrack which I don't even recall hearing.

I love the music. The battle theme with the screaming lady gets my blood pumping.

I wonder however, is it easy to change the music in this game like it is with Bethesda games? You just pop new .mp3s in the battle or town folder and they randomly play. That would be fucking cool, I'm all for diversifying.

God no, the soundtrack is beautiful.

Sometimes I purposefully elongate fights just to hear Steel for Humans and Widow-maker.

And the music in the Isles... =O

The one battle theme with the girl singing ruins every fight im in. Sounds way too over the top. Can't find it on youtube though.

You're not alone, Knock.

The music on its own is great, but I turned the music volume way down after a few hours. Think it was just the lack of variety and how some of it was too over the top to be played over and over again (like some of the tracks with vocals). It was kinda grating after a while, especially the one combat theme that seemingly played every damn fight.

The music has been great! The stuff the NPC's say does get annoying since they just recycle the same phrases.
Except the "pamperan pan pan pamperan" guys lol. Those guys alway make me laugh.

I'm bored of it at this point. I'm also sick of the quest completed/experience gained sounds. "WEYYYYYYYYYY" "HYEH!"

No. Please shut up.

No not really it's one of the best parts of the game. I have felt zero need to supplement it with outside music. That doesn't happen often.

After completing it once, I started to find it very grating and portentous so I just shut it off. Made the game ten times more atmospheric. I do like it, but the flavor gets to be too strong after a certain point.

it annoys the hell out of me during conversations. does not match the tone of anything being said, and completely undercuts whatever nuance the dialogue was going for.

The music is awesome, have it playing on itunes all the time. Its a travesty
Pricillas song
isn't included

I'm in love with the soundtrack. Hasn't bothered me at all during the 50 or so hours I've put into the game at the moment.
I can understand how it could annoy some people though since if you spend a lot of time in one area you will hear the looped soundtrack all the time.

That song with the wailing woman that repeats for combat is my personal hell.
Yes lmao.

Pretty spot on. "The problem isn’t really the game’s score but its implementation. Hopefully, someone will come up with a small mod that makes exploration music trigger much less frequently." is how I feel.

I think more open-world games could look to how Red Dead Redemption implemented its score. It was almost all contextual stems of music based on what was happening on screen, rather than set tracks that just repeated over and over again.

don't really like the songs with vocals. everything else is good.

really glad walking around has music playing unlike that other mess I played last year
