I don't like that other Photoshop. Found this one on Twitter, and like it a lot more. Until I saw this, I didn't think a white skinned version (as in color white, not race white) would work.

Aesthetically, I like it a lot. I don't know if I like it more than the other, but both would work out well, IMO. Both give out different feels.

I don't think they would actually ever do it, and for good reason, too. Context behind painting a POC's skin white, is too much. It can't really be ignored.

This looks terrible. I get that people want her to look exactly like the comic iteration, but come on. This ain't even Apocalypse levels of bad. That redesign looked more like Ivan Ooze.

Jeez when I step out of GAF I'm reminded how racist the general population is, and how people will take up pitchforks for a character they no nothing about. Domino isn't ethnically white, in Canon she isn't ethnically anything.

I just don't see the problem with a racebent character that balances visual elements of the comic book character and design sensibilities of the film universe it's being adapted to. It's simply a slightly different take on the character.

That's how you and others feel, and that's fine. I'm just in the camp of people that wants characters in superhero movies to be as faithful as possible to their comic book version.

In this case with Domino, I get the thought process behind making her an inverted version of the comic book version, it's a pretty good twist on the design, right? It does make some sense. I could totally see this version of Domino appear as an alternate reality version in the comics. Would I still prefer her to look like the comic book version instead? Absolutely.

Looks nothing like the character so I can see how some are upset about it but I dont mind it. I just wish the contrast was stronger on her eye since Ive always really liked that approach to her design.

If accuracy is integral to the enjoyment, then doesn't that mean the viewer just wants slavish adaptations where looks matter than substance? Venom in the movies wasn't accurate to the comics. For obvious reasons.

Characterisation should matter more. There's no critic worth their salt still thinking criticising Xmen movies for having black leather suits is a worthy battle to die on.

Venom sucked in the movie... so not the best example to use...

I'm quite sure posts like these "hot woman - time to jerk off", even when made in jest, have been the reason for bans before. No idea if that's still the case. Just a word of advice - in case you wanna edit your post.

I personally dig the look very much, though i'm not at all familiar with the Domino source material. I find the vitiligo thing rather cool.

I like it but I feel that if they were going to do the whole inverted color scheme thing then zazie should be a little darker. I feel like there's not enough contrast between her light skin and the white spot around her eye.

Is this really the same as whitewashing? People just want to see if the comic look had been possible. Something that happens tons of times a live action version is revealed.
