Hmmm ...a thread about pizza and the subjectiveness of taste and quality. Seems like 4 pages to me.
I just saw this thread and said out loud "How the fuck does this have 4 pages of replies?".
:lol

Also the Cali Chicken Bacon Ranch is tremendous and I worked there all through high school so if anyone hates their pizza it's me.

This thread forced me into the kitchen to make a pizza. Home-made sauce and dough, fried & roasted peppers & onions, pepperoni. I like to cook it for a few minutes with just the sauce, before I put the cheese on, as I hate an underdone crust. I make it on a cookie sheet, and yes, cut it in squares. It's delicious!

Jesus Christ. Those Australian pizzas are disgusting and I actually live in Australia. Those pictures were probably the stupidest examples anybody could have given. Pizza does NOT look like that here, at least, not the standard. Next time I order pizza I am taking pictures :lol

But Domino's in Australia is actually really good, and so was Pizza Hut for a time. They're good when you're in a rush, but you can't go past the local stuff in Australia.

It's true though - who cares what it looks like. All that matters is the taste.

Some of that American stuff looks nasty, though.

I only glanced at the first page of posts but I vote we should turn this topic into one where people from all over the world post pictures of their pizzas.

Wut?!
The Korean Pizza Hut I ate was vastly superiour to any Pizza Hut in the states I have ever been to.

Like I said, Korean Pizza Hut is mediocre.

Seconded.

I laugh when NON Italian Australians try to tell other countries whats the best pizza in OZ.
Real pizza enthusiasts goto family owned and not franchises.

Australia has better pizzas because we still have first generation Italians passing down recipes to their kids.

Also why is American cheese always orange?
Canada has blood on their hands too http://www.oetker.ca/en/

That's the thing, I posted what is available from chain stores not a local pizzeria.

Even so, call them trash or make fun of the lemon wedges, they both had some semblance of toppings on them.

FYI lemon squeezed on a seafood + prawn pizza just works.

As for the "trash pizza" it was: Grass raised Tasmanian Lamb, marinated in basil & cashew pesto, served on pizza sauce with fire roasted bell peppers, feta cheese, cherry tomatoes, olives, garlic & herbs, garnished with minted yoghurt sauce & fresh snow pea sprouts.

it's not. that's just a particular pizza variation. go to http://slice.seriouseats.com and read some of the entries there. you'll see plenty of neopolitan style pies, plenty of places who will use nothing but mozzarella di bufala, and so on. the use of low-moisture mozarella, provolone mixes, etc. is just regional variation. i made a sicilian style pizza tonight, for example, that used a provolone cheese, and it was really fantastic. but to say that all american pizzas use orange cheese is pretty reductive. research and learn old boy.

Before I leave Korea I'm going to have to try their Dominos and see how it compares to the UK stuff (which is shit.) Korean Pizza Hut is mediocre - but that's not saying much either.

Wait, where are you in Korea? I'm in Korea too. We should eat shit pizza together.

That sounded really bad, but fuck it.

I take it you're talking about the chocolate pizzas right? :lol

I'm in Ansan.

:lol @ the Aussie pizzas
Nobody eats those, I don't even know where you'd find such things

You don't lose your pizza license for admitting you like chicago casseroles. They're delicious.
It's not that I don't like good pizza, but that thing was so disgusting, seriously.

Now this pizza is what I'd actually call a pizza:

Domino's pizza is just wrong. Now this is a pizza...New York Giant Pizza (in San Diego). This is the large..

(Btw, I don't care what the pizza style is called, and I'm not from US or anything, all I know what good pizza tastes and looks like. But of course that's just my opinion, and others are free to disagree)

:lol

You're right because there are no first generation Italians anywhere in America, they're like an extinct species.

New York Pizza and Chicago Pizza are rated as some of the best pizza in the world for your information. We have a little something called the VPN(Associazione della Vera Pizza Napoletana) they basically insure "true quality" pizza is being made and have trained Pizzaiolis that go out to various restaurants to give them the VPN approval.

For anyone to discredit "American pizza" based off something as atrocious as Pizza Hut or Domino's is pretty damned retarded.

GAF Pizza threads, God they're amazing. Regarding OP, I never knew the cut in squares unless you asked for it. I've been so attached to eating a pizza slice with the crust that if I didn't I'd feel weird. It's why I always take the outer edges of Sicilian pizza first.

And I don't find Dominos that bad. It's good to eat when you craving for pizza and you can't get pizzeria food due to whatever reason. The best pizza place around my way is Gaby's in New York and they don't deliver to my house. :(

Because Domino's Australia has been poorly represented (or misrepresented) in this thread, this is the non-basics menu. Usually people order a basic like Meatlovers then splash out on a gourmet/chicken pizza:

Everyone should eat the spinach and feta! Best vegetarian pizza I've eaten, better than most individual pizzerias.

I had some of that 5.99 large one topping they're doing at Domino's today. It was quite good, lots of cheese and all. I didn't like the crust though, it was too buttery and salty-sweet.

i like CPK, just like i enjoy any creative pizza toppings. but i think ignoring or slamming traditional pizza in favor of a lot of crazy toppings sort of misses the beauty of pizza: something great made from very simple, cheap ingredients.

Yes that is the point. When you start throwing so many toppings on a pizza, it's not really pizza anymore.

For that matter deep dish isn't really pizza either, just call it lasagna pie.

Thin crust sucks. It's fucking toast.
Deep dish sucks. It's fucking lasagna.

Chicago style sucks. New York style sucks. <Your Local Pizza Chain> sucks. Your favorite toppings suck.

Only pizza I make myself, from scratch, will ever be delicious enough for my refined tastes.

Oh GAF.

I'm in Ansan.

I'm willing to try just about any pizza once. We have a place here that serves spaghetti pizza... I have yet to try it, but one of these days...

And I'm down here at Kunsan. I love how all Korean cities sound virtually the same :lol
