"Don't bother with the whole game, just play this one part!"

The opening hour of MGS5 is the only part that I liked. It actually felt like a MGS game.
MGS, as much flak as it's always gotten for its overreliance on cutscenes and codec sections, was never a walking sim where you only get to press forward and see stuff happen.

Avion (5th Colossus) - Shadow of the Colossus

The game is a masterpiece, but if you have to play one part, is the 5th boss battle.

Damn right! Funnily enough, my contribution to this thread is very similar to this one. It's what's hands down my favorite moment of Twilight Princess, that dragon boss battle. Chills every time.

Splatoon's single player campaign: The final boss battle.

Ace Attorney: And Justice For All: The fourth case.

Elite Beat Agents: The Christmas episode.

I'm 50/50 on this.

I felt it was the closest to MGS we got in the entire game, which was a PLUS.

But then when they made me replay it at the end, I was pissed.

God of War: Chains of Olympus - Kratos in the fields of Elysium after making a deal with Persephone to be with Calliope.

:(

I would argue about the microwave part in MGS4, but at best that last 10 mins. Either way, I will give MGS5 another try now that it's on PSPlus and see if the I can like the rest of the game this time

Destiny 1: Vault of Glass

second this. It should have been offered for 4.99 standalone and I would have skipped the rest.

AWWWWW! I just started this got it on sale last month.... not looking forward to that. way too linear, not enough weapons, options.

Route C - Nier: Automata, the thread

I absolutely loved Route C but to me wouldn't be as good if it wasn't for Route A and B.

I go with this.

That was shitty of me, especially with it being on PSN for free so prob a ton of people will just be jumping in. Sorry about that. Edited.

lol - edited your quote.

Final Fantasy VII, the initial first few hours in Midgard until you leave it. It's one of the most memorable experiences of the PlayStation and the FF series, and while the rest of the game is still good that part is a must play.

A Crack in The Slab -Dishonored 2

It's a phenomenonally designed level done in two parts, a more traditional open sandbox first half that you solve how you see fit to get to the second part which has a great gimmick:
Time travelling between two eras of the mansion you're skulking through.

It's my favorite level in the game for how cool its gimmick is as well as all the ways you can complete each section of it.

super mario sunshine the thread, am i really the first to bring this one up?

the blue coins, the shines you could get on a level after beating shadow mario, all the shines hiden in delphino plaza.

Just learn the movement mechanics, beat all the mandatory shines (the shines on each level until you beat shadow mario), and be done with it.

There's nothing great waiting to be discovered ouside of "the main campain".

Going for 120 starts on other mario games is such a treat, but with sunshine? yikes.

This was mine as well. When the game came out I was living with roommates that do not really play games. I sat one down and said, you have got to play this part. He loved It, but never played anymore of the game.

Sanctuary Fortress in Metroid Prime 2. Experience the pinnacle of 3D level design.
Exactly what I was thinking when I saw this thread.

Though since you have backtracking to Torvus breaking up the main progression there, I'd pick specifically the part after you return with Power Bombs.

Dishonored 2: The Clockwork Mansion

Or

Dishonored 2: A Crack in the Slab

Assuming you can figure out the controls/mechanics, or you just have a tutorial on them, those are two of the best levels of any game...... ever.

The Citadel DLC in Mass Effect 3. This is the part of the game that redeemed a lot of things I didn't like, and it's too bad that it's a DLC you have to buy separately.
