Dota 2 Beta Thread 4: Even Mike Ross Plays [Elder Titan]

When I see KOTL and/or Gyro get picked up in a pro match, I instantly want that team to lose, even it's a team I normally like. Sick to death of seeing those heroes.

When I solo queue, there's a 100% chance of either Huskar, Ursa, Riki, Sniper, Drow, Zeus or/and Bloodseeker being on my team.

In 250h Dota 2 I have yet so comprehend why people pick fuckin' Sniper when virtually every other carry outcarries him hard at almost any stage of the game.

Edit: And Spirit Breaker as well. Utterly useless hero in late game and probably one of the bottom 3 heroes in Dota 2.

because if Sniper has a couple of guys on the team that can tank for him, he's gonna destroy the other team. he needs people to block fists with their faces on the team like axe, tide, kunkka, etc...but if he has them...look out.

Because you can easily pub-stomp with him because of those F^&$#% mini-stuns..
Get a shadow blade up on him and go all out damage items and it's pretty much gg in a lot of pub games..

more like 100% chance of drow, plus a 95% chance of one or more of those other heroes showing up.

Which is sad, because he's a ridiculously fun hero to play, and one of my favorites from dota 1years ago.

Anuxi, just make a Drow set already. She doesn't have any great sets, and it should sell really well.

yes.

as long as Sniper's teammates aren't bitch-made, yea he's gonna put a lot of work in team fights. give him an Axe/Tide/Mag/Engima on his team and watch the blood splatter.

I recall that happening on occasion when I was new to the game but 250h in and being lvl 17 now, Snipers on my team (or on the opposing team for that matter) get wrecked and fade into irrelevance very quickly. Also, Sniper players appear to have a distinct habit to kill steal for no reason with their ulti. It's a good ulti early game to not let low HP heroes run off but stealing a good carry's farm shouldn't happen at all.

Yep, whenever I first started I was always worried about Sniper because of his ulti, seemed like there was nothing I could do to stop him. Now, I'm only level 5, but I get kinda happy if someone's stupid enough to pick him up during a Team CM.

There are no shortage of kill-stealing heroes in Dota2. I'd say it's a bit harder for Sniper, since there's the long aiming phase of the ult. If someone is that low, whoever is attacking him is probably going to drop him.

As for the "good" carry...Sniper IS a good carry provided the team compliments him with a couple of tanks as mentioned earlier. He won't outcarry Void or something (dat natural backtrack), but with the right team comp and items, he sure as hell can outcarry many of the others.

Last month there was a really bad patch where every single game it seemed like the enemy team had a Sniper and a few tanks, and Sniper would go mid, and ganking him would be difficult to impossible in a pub match, and he'd have a Desolater by like 20 minutes and from there just kill everyone in three shots. It was so maddening.

The fuck you smoking? Barathrums problem is you require balls to play him.

Tell your allies to man the fuck up.

Yeah, SB has a crazy win % on dotabuff. Thing is, I don't see why. Hell, I don't even see pub stomping potential in him. Whenever I play or lane with him, we get easily outlaned and his global stun becomes quickly irrelevant when the opposition gets so farmed, that jumping in gets us killed 9 out of 10 times. In my humble opinion, he's genuinely a shit hero or I'm simply entirely incompatible to his play style and fail to capitalize on what he's supposed to excel at.

In my experience he's great for two reasons:
-He can join a teamfight from across the map. Turning 3v3 into 4v3 suddenly is often huge
-You can't run from him. If you retreat with quarter health because the fight has gotten too dangerous, suddenly charge-ult-dead

Early levels it takes him ages to run across the map, and his Q has a pretty big cooldown. Most of the time you can only use it once in a fight and throw out 1 ult. If you survive that you can maybe charge again but it depends.

I really like him but you have to be lucky really. He's a good combo with Natures Prophet or invis heroes.

My most recent match on Sniper, I don't pick him often, but you just gotta believe. Really the only thing he gets absolutely dumped on by carry-wise are blinkers, namely am, pa, riki, and ck. Forgive me if I forgot someone. The key is standing where they won't hit you, because if they hit you, you lose.

I neeeeeeeeed it.

That hair is clearly not aerodynamic. Also everyone in your sets looks like they are about to arrive at a formal ball. I demand this be the next event game mode.

I love Lich man.
I play him so much it's not even funny. Very good all around hero, I've even semi-carried the team on occasions. His Frost Blast is a great early nuke that forces players for lane to give carries needed farm, life steal is a god send in both controlling creep waves and regaining mana (which is a lot when maxed) and his ult is freakin' deadly.
He doesn't scale too well, but if you do enough stomping early game and buy the right items, you can be formidable late game.

Played a match yesterday where we were about to finish, and got a triple kill on 3 carries inside their fountain with Chain Frost.

The first time I played against Lich I was completely ignorant of his Ult and he proceeded to kill me all the times. That thing is so rough in Teamfights.

I found a new way to relax: Bot matches! Everyone is super polite, it's easy to carry and items drop like candy. Just saw a bloody courier drop on my first game. :|

<3 Wes for the idea.

Bot matches are awful, only worth playing to test something out.

My experience with the Slardar/Sniper combo is that Sniper always has kills equal to Slardar's assists.

I still get people who run away together. Ain't gonna work, people.
It's also particularly deadly with chromosphere/black hole.

Lich casts Ult. It comes after me.

I run away from the rest of the pack, alone. I'll eat the nuke, but it ends there.

Allied Anti Mage Blinks right beside me.

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY
