Dota 2 Beta Thread 4: Even Mike Ross Plays [Elder Titan]

Dota matchmaking just trolled me. We had this Drow going mid againt a Huskar. By minute 15 she was dead 7 times, only a wraith band and boots in her inventory. She ended up dying 13 times, lvl 14 in a 40 mins game.

It turns out the guy playing her is just lvl 1, 8 victories in his pocket, The second player with less level was 18 on the other team, most players around level 40.

WTF?!

From my experience (which isn't much), Huskar absolutely destroys Drow in mid. The first 6 levels are difficult because Drow has longer range but when Huskar gets his ult it's gg.

Yeah, and that's not something all Drow players will realize if they haven't faced Huskar one-on-one before. Against most mid heroes, Drow gains the upper hand when they reach six and she gains that massive DPS boost. Against Huskar, if Drow steps away from the tower and Huskar isn't silenced, he can kill her at will.

I have no idea what that means :lol

I'm guessing bounty hunters shouldn't buy treads?

Generally no, a big part of bh's gameplay is stacking attack damage to get those big jinada crits.

Treads is inferior to phase boots in that it has 16 less damage. In addition phase helps BH gank and escape with it's speed boost.

Battlefury is usually frowned upon because it is a farming item and BH is best utilized by ganking 24/7 using track and getting team mates gold.

Desolator is usually the prime damage item to get on BH. MKB and Abyssal blade are both good as well. Black King Bar should be high on the list due to BH's squishiness.

The point is not that she did bad against Huskar, but the MM joke.

Anyway, an experienced player can die once or twice, from then on, it's time to find a safer place to farm, ask for help or whatever. Nothing you can expect from a noob. Not blaming him seeing the difference in experience.

Just had a game my team was clearly winning go over the 35 minute mark. Enemies had a cancer lancer, who pushed us back to our base and won the game for them, That asshole is so OP right now. I with he had a 10 illusion limit or something

Haha, I've been messing with Lion recently and I almost always get someone as soon as I hit 6. Q -> R -> DEAD.

they need to remove BF on the default suggested item build

He has a limit of 8

Phantom Lancer is the new old Lycan. He gets any farm at all, he's going to be able to 1v5 your team soon.

You have to have something like an Earthshaker + QoP for him, or an Undying against him in lane, or it might as well be gg.

Who is people's favorite caster if not Tobi? Definitely not this Blaze guy for TPL cause he is a pretty boring caster that repeats certain phrases way too much in that regard.

Is it Purge?

I'd rather watch Merlini, if he's not doing serious practice, than any caster. I find his casual commentary way more useful than anything from the major casters.

But for pro matches I mean. I liked listening to h4nn1 talk dota during a match the other day but he's not going to be full time caster any time soon.

LD, Godz, Winter, Luminous, Purge and Draskyl are all fantastic. Ayesee is good too, but I don't like his style as much, just personal preference.

You never played corky?

LD maybe the best caster? He really needs someone to back him up though, and while Winter is good I'm not particularly smitten with him. Someone else dropping the knowledge bombs would be nice.

I like Synderen as a caster a lot.

And for casual stream watching, the people dropping the most info are Merlini and Aui. Not necessarily the most entertaining mind you, but they both explain what they're doing well.
