Also this is completely wrong. If you consider Lycan a hard carry, he's one of the weakest hard carries in the game. Pretty much any other carry will beat him out late game. If you haven't won the game by 40 minutes as a Lycan, you've pretty much failed. His power comes from quickly farming up a cheap core (vlads/medallion), taking an early rosh, and then pushing like crazy. He works really well as a 2 or secondary carry because of howl and his split push, he can complement a harder carry like n'aix or PL and give them the time they need to farm by forcing the enemy team to constantly TP back to defend towers. His usefulness peaks in the mid game and drops off the later the game gets, especially because he's so reliant on his ulti like alchemist (though alch's ulti is a longer duration and shorter CD), and in the late game, supports have the necessary items to kite you (ghost scepter, force staff) and carries have the HP/armor/evasion/dps to survive your ulti, or burst you down inside it.
PA has a similar problem as lycan in the sense that the later the game gets, the more easily she is countered compared to most carries. Most successful PA's I see now build her as a midgame ganker with a quick basher or Deso.
