Dota 2 Beta Thread 4: Even Mike Ross Plays [Elder Titan]

Speaking of roaming supports, I played Windrunner for the first time yesterday and it felt sooo good. I may start using her as my suicide solo pick by default.

I just read this post, sorry but if you have no appreciation for what good support play entails I would ask you not to pass judgement on it, or even discuss it.

I don't know how you managed to leap to this conclusion so quickly, but you failed to grasp what I was joking about.

Btw when watching some of the pro matches I see the support getting sentry wards but there's no invis heroes...is it for dewarding?

Warding/counterwarding is essential in every game.

I'd strongly, STRONGLY recommend you pick up the Spring Raidcall ticket. The event is almost over, but the VoD's will be there forever and the commentary provided by Ayesee and Draskyl has been exceptional.
Ayesee. . . . eurghh that guy is defnitely and acquired taste.
I'd watch a youtube and see if you can stomach his brand of dialogue

After browsing the DotA 2 market for the first time, all i have to say is Valve, where the actual fuck is the GLaDOS announcer that will make you over one billion $?

I would pay quite a bit of money for that I think.

I used to not like Ayesee very much but lately, he's really grown on me. He is defintely fairly different from most other casters, he has a pretty distinct style.

Sheeeeeit, EG with the confidence. Just drafted Bloodseeker against Mouz.

Remember the last time someone drafted BS? Redefining Madness disbanded. Mouz now do or dieee

I'm kidding, my good man. Mostly. Still an outside chance losing to this could drive a core member mad and work to their downfall.

Oh sorry, let me explain how I managed to make the astounding leap:

It does, and then you find out that creep stacking is kinda boring. No one likes playing support for a reason.

Although I guess that was a joke post too.

I think Maelk said a lot of times that he thinks Bloodseeker is very underrated. I'm not watching the game so i don't know how it's going but yeah-

Yeah Im curious about that too, especially since they did do a Doctor Kleiner one a long time ago.

Im still hoping for an eventual Cave Johnson announcer, but thats less likely since J.K. Simmons is an actual actor who does other things. And State Farm commercials.

Edit:
Well, it's always been a crossbow.

Dota2 confession: I prefer playing supports, but never stack/pull unless asked and in those cases I hold the person who asked in contempt. I fucking hate it.

I get that it denies the other team a little farm, can give your carry a little extra (although this doesn't seem to happen in pub game when I do it...), and can make things harder for them if they've got a stack coming at them...but fuck it regardless.

Why? You get solo xp and a little jungle farm out of it, provided your lanemate can survive your brief absence.

It's all about making it safe for your carry to farm and controlling that creep line. If you can maintain control over the safe lane all through the first 7-9 minutes of the game then hopefully your hard carry is in a better position than theirs.

I love when the enemy team doesn't stack the safe lane (I usually make this impossible for them with wards) because then I can more easily Gank them with Venge because they're probably not fighting safely under their tower.

Creep stacking itself is pretty fucking boring. I don't think anyone is denying that. But I guess you have to savor it like a fine wine to 'appreciate' that support is obviously a deep role (who thinks otherwise, your imaginary concoction?), or maybe not.

I hope we never meet in the field of battle, as i will not yield an inch to an inferior combatant.

I'm denying that.

Like a severely wounded creep.

I deny you.

I like how you kept editing in additions to your post digging further and further down needlessly sarcastic territory with each revision, as if what you were saying wasn't completely subjective and needed to be underlined by snark.

No one likes playing support for a reason.

You said that no one likes playing support, later posted a "joke" calling it a bitch role, and implied that the role is boring and stagnant.

This isn't even about your joke, it's about your implication and having no idea what you're talking about. Some people are support specialists, some people really enjoy playing a game changing support. It's a hugely important role that controls the early portion of the game.

When I say "no one likes playing support for a reason", I clearly don't mean 100% of people. I know, it's difficult. I played support pretty often in DotA 1, not so far in DotA 2. It can be rewarding but it's incredibly easy for it to devolve into frustration in solo queue games. (or the TDA equivalent in dota 1)

I think he did call you out, in fact, if this were happening in the 1930's and we were musical street gangs... let's just say there may be a bunch of people snapping their fingers in rhythm right now. IF YOU GET MY DRIFT.

Isn't that the plot to You Got Served?
