Or you get it... and THEN proceed to lose.

Won, it was an epic game but I dont think it counted

I didn't "have" to spend any money on League, I chose to. Skins are optional; everything else can be bought with Influence Points, which you earn through playing matches. I have quite a few champions, most of which I bought with IP. I have no experience with DOTA 2 and each game seems to have aspects that people love. I will more than likely just stick with LoL but don't go around spreading half-truths or omitting facts.

DOTA 2 has to have business model for revenue; what is it?

Played a game as Lone Druid. My microing wasnt as good as they shouldve been so Alchemist ended up carrying us more than I could. The bear was always blocking me >_>

I did do stuff like push with Radiance bear and use phase boots on him to catch enemies though.

Something I have problems with is what late game items should be on the bear and what should be on Druid. I know if the bear dies that you lose access to the items so keeeping everything on the bear is not good.

So what do I put on druid and on the bear? In the match I had basher and radiance on the bear, and Mjolnir on Druid

Played Nyx twice in a row. First time sucked but the second time went better. So fun ganking KotL and nuking fools with Dagon. He's a bit difficult to play though, since your wombo combo eats up all your mana and you can't be wreckless with your invisibility. I guess you need a lot of farm consistently to stay relevant because you can fall off so easily without enough mana.

Interested in learning Rubick - his spell steal seems amazing, if used correctly. I'm just a bit conscious of his fragility...
The movement speed nerf hurts his game a lot. You are mainly fodder if you don't position your self perfectly.

Yeah, I've read to stay back a bit, and only get involved when you know you can. Also read a force staff/blink dagger is good on him. Should I rush a force staff first?

Just watched a few quick matches. I think you analogy is a little off. Maybe LoL is Forza and Dota is Gran Turismo. Both have some differences in execution but are pretty much the same in concept. I might still give it a shot but it really does seem that LoL has the things I like and DOTA 2 doesn't.

Kawaii girls with pander cleavage?

Get an early bottle for mana regen and mana boots. Or do what tenck does battlefurry

Or convince friends that league's system isn't that great.

But I guess someone who only posts in other gaming comm forums to troll wouldn't know anything about friends, right?

I like to get drums as my first medium item, helps with both his fragility and movement speed issues. But no matter what you buy, positioning is crucial as with every low HP hero.

Compared to Dota 2? I agree, League is miles behind.

Then again Valve has a lot more freedom on adjusting their business model than Riot does. But I suppose that's irrelevant from a consumer- standpoint.

Nah, I regularly visit (and maintain) other threads, but I sometimes am bemused by the lengths that people go to justify how their choice of leisure time is superior to others.

I mean, isn't your enjoyment/preference alone reason enough?

I've started to practice with lone druid lately so maybe I can help you a little.

Starting items lane: Yourself: 3x branch, 1x tango, 1x salve / Bear: stout shield
Starting items woods: Yourself: 1x salve / Bear: stout shield, quelling blade

If you are going woods, I'd suggest to rush midas since LD isn't the fastest jungle hero and it's good to have to get some levels faster. Remember to always put the midas on yourself before using it. If you use it while it's on the bear, you will not get the xp-bonus from it.

Orb of venom is a core item on your bear that you should get very early on (especially if you lane) since it will help you a lot with slowing down your enemy until you get your root on him. Remember to use your phase boots on the bear to run through yourself, creeps and stuff to catch up faster. You should get tranquil boots on yourself since it gives a lot of movement speed for chasing too. Remember to change out of true form when you heal yourself with tranquil boots, tangos and salve to get more hp.

After getting those core early game items there is a lot of different ways you can go with your build. In your game you went for radiance, which is good if you get good farm early game and when the team doesn't need you that early. When going basher like you did, you want to make sure that the bear has a high attack speed. In your case, you could have just put the mjollnir on the bear. But I don't really like mjollnir on the bear unless you need it against illusion heroes, because the root can't proc on the same attack as the mjollnir lightning. You shouldn't really bother putting any carry items on yourself until very late game when your bear's item build is done, but getting some defensive items on yourself is fine if you need it.

The build I like the most when I'm not having a great start (or when I don't feel like getting a radiance because I want to help my team early) is armlet, vlad/hood, AC, basher and then whatever I feel like. Armlet is really nice on the bear since it will give him 40dmg, 25 attack speed, 8hp/sec and 5 armor when turned on. And the best thing is that it can be turned on all the time since it doesn't drain hp from the bear. Armor is great on the bear since it will make it much more harder to kill and you can't stack str on him since he doesn't benefit from str and agi. Vlad is really good if the other team has a lot of physical dps (armor aura) or if your team has a lot of melee heroes (damage aura and life steal). If the other team has a lot of magic damage that burst you down in team fights, I'd suggest to get a hood of defiance on yourself. Then get an AC for the bear for more armor and attack speed so you can get a basher. After that you can get more dps items on your bear if you need that or maybe a heart on yourself if you need more hp. Getting a ghost scepter on youself is also good if the enemy team has a really strong carry that kills you before the bear has time to lock him down.

This post became a little longer than I expected, but I hope it helps you :p

Dagon is only worth it at 1 or 5, and the latter is highly, highly situational.

Dagon 5 is an incredibly cost-efficient nuke in terms of mana and CD to damage ratio. Of course a Dagon 5 is also the single most expensive item in the game. I guess you'd get it if you're a nuker/assassin type hero who has cash to spare in a game that is dragging on incredibly long.

For most, the extra burst from Dagon 1 complements their inherent arsenal well enough. Dagon 2-4 is not worth it. Go big or go home.

Personally I usually go Radiance and basher on bear, AC and heart on my druid. Usually go for a midas too.
