My carry Omni build:

Phase Boots, Radiance (rush it if you are owning otherwise go Shadow Blade if you are getting owned), Eye of Skadi, Armlet (as required for every strength carry in the game), Assault Cuirass or Heart, Mjolnir. If you are balling out of control get BoTs and LVL3 Necrobooks.

Midas optional.

your not navi puppey

My 430gpm Omni disagrees!

Rad seems like it would just take forever to farm on him. Much less Rad AND Skadi. Hmmmm.

I've never played full carry omni, but my semicarry omni build was basi ring plus soul ring (because i thought i was going support and had the ring of protection already for tranq boots, and I needed the early mana regen after I was forced mid) arc boots, mek, and SnY. I was building a heart when the game ended, but I was pretty much unkillable already. The burst damage from omni's heal is so great early and the manacost so high that I feel he really needs some early mana regen, though if I was building that way from the start, I'd probably keep with the soul ring early, then get an urn and either phase or treads.

I like going aghs on him first because it accelerates his leveling/farming ability and also gives considerable survivability. The build up is also really easy as well.

Use Heal to farm creeps man. Build Midas first, once you get your Radiance you can farm anything. Probably should get an early Soul Ring as well to spam those Heals for farm.

Goddamn lose a game to a Russian Drow who stomps our asses in, next game get paired up with him in All Random as Beastmaster and he has no clue what to do, just kind of throws his axes and shouts. Can't talk to him of course. Heaven forbid he play on a Euro server where anyone else could communicate with him

Meteorain + Freakinchair confirmed for worst carry combo.

it's ok, milkman rage abandoned a game when he lost to a russian drow from 4chan that ended the game with the line "i am drow carrey."

Is there some way people search by item to see who has it? I've noticed I get a lot of random adds on Steam lately, the latest was by some Russian guy who all of the comments on his Steam profile said he was a good trader. I think they want my Pudge hook.

Dota 2 network seems to be down for me....

Anyway, what do you guys think of this idea I had for modifying Drow? Instead of Frost Arrows functioning as they do now, when activated they'll do little or no damage, and very little or no slow, but there's a buildup effect where if you can hit an enemy X amount of times in a row, they'll be frozen, with effects similar to Fiend's Grip while they're in that state.

I think, in general a reworking like that would suit that character. Details like what happens when frozen, what exactly it takes to get frozen, etc probably aren't the best in my example.

What's this trend to put Mordigan on Druid's bear? I thought the bear has no stats? So you only give him some armor, some extra damage and some minor speed for 2600 gold. I know he doesnt lose health, but hyperstone sounds way more sexy to me. What am I missing?

It's a surprisingly cost effective DPS item on the Bear. +40 damage and 25 attack speed is nothing to scoff at.

It gives you damage and attack speed, which is what the bear wants. Hyperstone just gives attack speed but no other stats.

It is better to build up a Maelstorm before going Hyperstone if you are going Mjollnir.

Naked Hyperstone is fine if you are going AC, but you still want some damage on the bear.

Armlet also doesn't degen the bear when turned on.

Give me me an Alchemist build, including skills. I'd appreciate it. Side note: Enchantress is a kick ass support.

Depends on what you want to do.

Early/midgame monster? Phase->Shadowblade->Maelstrom, max Unstable Concoction and Greevil's Greed before even getting a point in Acid Spray.
Late game farm beast? Tread->AC->Mjolnir->Abyssal, max Greevil's Greed and Acid Spray. Solo mid, stack the ancients at :53.
Support Alch? Tranquils->Soul Ring->Mek/Blink Dagger, max Unstable and Acid Spray. Very powerful roamer and you can stack jungle camps inbetween ganks to catch up on farm in the midgame.

Two games in a row we play against Drow, and two games in a row they DC halfway through the game because we're killing them all.

On a 10 game win streak fueled by Leshrac and Windrunner. Feels good man. Soon the DOTER gods will take it away from me.

I'm damn terrible at this (either that or horribly unlucky with my SD MM draws), but I can't stop playing. It just feels damn good when you're winning.

Just had a game where 2 on my team DC'ed before creep waves started. We absolutely crushed the competition regardless 3v5.

A stark contrast to the previous game, where we had to be extra careful to avoid getting ganked:

I'm wondering why armlet isn't affecting the bear. Is it the same in wc3?

Can you use armlet on the courier, and does it degen the courier's health? I'm assuming it checks to see if the inventory is a hero's inventory before it starts doing damage. Spiritbear must be flagged as something similar to the courier.

edit: Hoping we get parity and troll in cm at the very least this week. I'm skeptical of any heroes because their portraits are still really crude and they just started redoing skywrath according to purge.

Anyone have any advice for mouse movement? I'm kinda struggling with the default controls. Mouse camera movement feels so clunky.

Some people control the map with arrows or keys, but tbh I'd say just keep playing on and you'll get used to it. It feels weird at first but after a hundred or so games anything else will feel foreign.

You had 1550 gold and bought nothing but mass Sentry Wards? What a boring quitter you are.

sometimes u gotta hit that concede button chet,

I did a little dotabuff sleuthing of my own and I found that our very own Dr. Kirby fed over 121.257 kills in a single match:

Looking at that game I played earlier that felt like a good win where I had 30 kills on Viper and saw this. How the hell is this build possible?! Three points in Waveform without points in anything else in levels 1-3? Is this a Dotabuff bug or something? I'm at work and can't check the actual replay right now. Here's the game in question.

It's quite possible he didn't skill any abilities until Level 11.

EDIT: Actually, never mind, it's probably a bug.

Wow, I am hilariously bad at this game.

I thought coming from LoL would mean I wouldn't suck super hard in my first few games, but boy was I wrong. Is there an equivalent to the shift-click in LoL? I tried shift clicking my abilities but it doesn't seem to work.

Just finished playing a game and winning as anti mage. I have to concur with dr kirbs, I think am has lost a lot of his punch now that pushing/ganking is the deal. I don't think reversing his BAT nerf will change anything. If I wasn't able to get an early battlefury I doubt I could have won that game. My problem with AM is that his game revolves around getting manta, and before that point he's arguably the worst hard carry besides medusa or maybe spectre in their ability to participate in early fights. Ontop of that, his farming ability is dependent on battlefury. So you're looking to spend over 9k gold before you can participate in team fights. Throwing in the recent halberd buff and AM's game just got worse.

I guess to drill in my point is that AM isn't an especially hard carry. I mean that he's not any better than Phantom Lancer, Faceless Void, or even Alchemist in late game (and probably other carries), but unlike those heroes he can't contribute early on.

There is shift click. But it's not a skill you should try to master starting out and a lot of heroes don't require it. Best to practice it off of channeling spells/abilities.

TP to Tower, hold shift and cast a spell. As soon as you TP in you will immediately cast it. For you case you can shift command Blink into Scream as you were using Queen of Pain. In LoL terms she is an AP hero meaning you have to take her mid and gank often with powerful spells. That involves getting runes with a bottle and keeping your eye on the clock.

I don't think that's the shift click he was talking about. There's a thing in LoL called "smartcasting", something where you just already hold your mouse over a target and hold shift and hit the spell key. They claim it's "faster" but not really. Just learn to do it the normal way. Shift clicking is for queueing up actions.

Oh so there's no smartcasting in Dota 2? Damn, that's going to take some getting used to.

Got it, I was definitely playing her all wrong then.
