Nothing is as satisfying as getting a kill on a fleeing enemy with Power Shot, or landing a Shackle followed by a Force Fire kill.

I'm starting to get the hang of this game, although the secret shop still annoys me since I try to buy items without enough empty slots and I end up having to run back to base to combine stuff together. Baby steps though.

I just drop something or sell something in my inv if I dont have room :3

Learn to use the courier to buy from the secret shop, it's quite an essential skill.

Just in case you are not aware, you can only purchase a small amount of items at the secret shop. So if you tried to buy a Eul's there, it will only give you the Void Stone. The other items will go to your stash. As above, if you get the courier to deliver all the base items they will combine in your inventory even if you don't have enough slots to fit them all individually.

this. as long as you're careful not to run him into enemy heroes it's much, much better than walking to the shop yourself.

Queueing commands is very good for this. To queue, hold shift while giving commands like move, deliver, return to base, and it'll do all of them in order. So once it's at the secret shop, you can use the minimap to direct it to a base tower, then have it deliver it to you along your lane to reduce the chance of interception.

Adding to this, just get your fingers used to the hotkeys for courier stuff. I have F2 as my courier select, then the standard QWERDF for it's abilities. I when I want to send it to secret shop, I just know from muscle memory to hit F2, W, R (for speed burst), F1 (select my hero again) and I don't have to look at my hero. Also if you have quickbuy on, you can just select the courier when it's at the Secret Shop and hit the quickbuy key, then just send it back to base or send it to you, or whatever you're doing with it from there. If it's going across hostile territory, then shift queue some moves in there using the minimap. If you have it go along the edge, the other team won't be able to touch it.

People were (probably jokingly) commenting on my bottle crowing when I was at mid earlier if I couldn't get to the runes first. I was just hitting F2, right clicking myself, F1, and as soon as the courier got to me, drag the bottle onto it, then hit F2, Q, hold shift and hit Q, D (if there was other stuff to grab out of stash), and F. I learned this the hard way in the past, but just hitting D then F WILL NOT refill your bottle. It actually has to go into the fountain to refill it, whereas to grab items it just has to touch the edge of the fountain.

Also always give the thing a haste! If you see that little boot in the lower right corner of the screen, that's your queue to hit F2, R, F1. You can do all of this stuff without even looking at the courier.

Riddle me this Dota2GAF: Wisp + Sand King, has no one tried this? I could see people that were sitting right next to each other (i.e. pro teams) actually being able to coordinate this and it be amazing. Even if SK misses one Epicenter pulse, still just being able to TP in with Epicenter already going off would be incredible!

Because blink dagger.

Relocate doesn't interrupt channeling spells, so you wouldn't even have to miss any pulses.

Are you sure? I swear I've tried other channeled things and it did. Maybe I'm think of actually being Wisp though.
It was one of the subjects of a Dota Mythbusters episode, Witch Doctor ult started channeling and wasn't cancelled after the Relocate pulled him away.

Because:

Blink Dagger
You don't want the wisp ganker to be ulti dependent
Tether needs to be used on carries in team fights
If they just walk away from the relocate you've wasted two ultimates

So a quick question to the guys who are using WASD for camera control like I am.
What do you do when playing guys like Chen, Meep etc. Which keys do you use for control groups?

I use my 1 - 5 button for my skills and I am having issues finding a setup that fits with control groups.
Any input is much appreciated :)

ZXCV, Space Bar is "Select Hero"

just played a game where 2 people on my team abandoned mid match, because they decided they had to go shopping instead.
still won though, troll too stronk.

I said you would just bottle crow before 6 and you bought up that "QoP has blink, Puck has orb and Batrider slows you and burn you if try to follow him to the rune." even though I said you would want to bottle crow before you hit 6. So you just wouldn't.

I don't know you brought it up.

What i meant was that those other heroes have the possibility of getting runes which obviously favour them in the matchup, if you get something like an haste on Bat/TA and you already harassed the storm a little you can just straight up kill him.

Did you guys see the Puppey scumbag pause shown by Merlini? That's like Virtus.pro level.

You know a Dota update sucks when Cyborgmatt actually posts on time.

I really wonder what the bonus gift is. I always assumed Valve would give some item to those with 0 abandons, but recently I got one after my internet lagged horribly. If they still do that idea, they should make it to where it's under 10 abandons or so.

Wow, I did not know any of this. Guess I've got a lot of practicing to do. Thanks for the tips guys.

A couple friends did Nature's Prophet, Wisp, Sandking, Spectre and Spirit Breaker. Spirit Breaker initiated by charging a target, Wisp teleported Sandking in with his ulti active and Spectre and Prophet ported in as well. If you time Sandking and Wisp right you don't even loose a pulse.

Rule of cool buffs: Dragon Form extends the range of all spells, not just Dragon Tail. Would also result in some lulzy Rubick plays.

Eh, 0 abandons is a bit strict. Everyone will end up with an abandon eventually, whether they're actually at fault or not. Internet issues at the wrong time, Dota 2 issues (there was a stretch with one patch where it was extremely prone to crashing, and if you didn't have the fastest computer to load it all up again…)

And speaking of shift-queuing:

Why can't you shift queue the courier to buy items at the secret shop? Really annoying when I'm trying to be efficient.

Yeah :( It's like the one time I actually want to queue commands up for the courier. Most of the time I'll just wait until I know I'm in a safe area and hit the button in the bottom right. You know, where the minimap should be.

I was gonna play League cause I wanted to try that blob dude that divides into little ones when he dies and then I updated my client and logged in and realized I fucking can't because I don't have IP or whatever to get it (if you can even buy him with those I dunno)
You can, but also new champs will get a free week a couple weeks after they come out.

I'm hoping we get some mod tools later this year, so people can make their own heroes. I want to see if the community can port LoL and improve on it, and how far they can take it. Porting the Hero to work in Dota, making the hero work like it does in LoL with the built in Passive and only 18 levels, porting over Summoners Rift, bringing in the item shop. Keeping one version up to date with the real LoL, having anther that attempts its own balance.

Dr. Kirborkian going to make people kill themselves over here with that craziness.

I would buy a Smash Bros. game with Dota characters.

I just played a game where our Medusa farmed the ancients from level one. I thought it was ridiculous but apparently it's a common strat. She got quite a bit of farm, but in terms of leveling she was fairly slow (I was solo top as Undying and was still on par with her, and that's with dying/creep pulling from the enemy). Is this really effective over laning? She bought treads as her first item with her farm, I'm going to assume that's not what you rush when doing that.
