Dota 2 Beta Thread 4: Even Mike Ross Plays [Elder Titan]

I really like the fact that the Tranquel Boots Nerf was pushed out mostly on its own, will likely unmuddy the waters a bit and make it easier to balance a lot of the hard carries and junglers.

I just uploaded like 11 items today. I'm hoping if they are good enough to get them in a chest :D

Since kotl has a set in this week, I'll make a drow set next. Then something fancy for storm :D

Love em, please make more Storm items!

Also newbies, my tip to you: Don't even bother putting a point into your ultimate if you're playing Naga. Don't even THINK ABOUT IT. It's like chronosphere on crack in terms of screwing over your teammates if you're not sure how to use it.

Crackbaby I hope you're reading this.

Just played my first match against humans.

Yeah that wasn't very fun. Our Spirit Breaker kept calling us all noobs.

Looks like you didn't do to bad. And don't worry, to someone out there somewhere, we're all noobs.

You had a TP on you, you're no noob. ;P

I said before that creep damage not dispelling the heal was what made tranquils so powerful on carries, so that nerf makes sense.

Unfortunately it screws borderline viable heroes like Axe who relied on that fact to function, but you can buff Axe separately without having tranquils help the hardest of the hard carries so much in the early game.

Looks like you weren't really the weak link in your team. You had one hard carry and his farm was garbage and his item build wasn't very good. And you were up against some heroes that bot games don't really prepare you for like BH and AM.

You need to deny more creeps. Windrunner is awesome at denying so do it a bunch.

Watching G-League.

QOP steals aegis, doesn't blink far enough afterwards to make it out of the pit but the opposing KotL blinding lights him out to safety.

Hilairious.

You don't get any of the stat bonuses, but you get the rest, and no HP drain. Very cost-effective in terms of damage, I understand.

The only stat bonus being the +25 or something strength that you get if you have it enabled, meaning no HP bonus either. It's pretty good as far as single-target damage goes, but imo, LD needs either a Maelstrom, Midas or Radiance to accelerate his farming speed, unless you have a plan to push in the first 15 minutes or so. After one of those, an armlet is still good. I haven't tried it myself yet though.

Wow, that heal dispel from neutrals is fucked up. I still thought it would be ok to have them because you can just heal while farming, but now that that's gone I doubt I'll even make them anymore.

How are you supposed to stop your team from diving once it gets to the stage where you're one rax down?

http://dotabuff.com/matches/154629890

We could have won this game easily at one point, but they started to get desperate or some shit the moment we lost a rax. Diving at their base as just as an ursa and a LD (both of them underfarmed because druid couldn't jungle for shit and ursa is just not that great) when our base needed defending, just because their supports were dead. Surely they must have known that the other team's carries would just destroy them? I don't get why people do these things sometimes, I asked them not to but they kept doing stupid shit like that.

I've never seen a lone druid with such bad map awareness either, he died twice early game just because he wasn't paying attention or noticing my pings and that set a precedent for the other team that they could just waltz into the jungle and gank him easily.

I probably should have started solo pushing lanes now that I think about it, that would have helped a lot.

I keep being surprised every time I check dotabuff matches, so many people don't have it turned on. Usually one or 2 but most of the time it's just me and my friends who have it turned on.

Denying is something I'm still trying to wrap my head around, but I'll try to focus on it more next time.

That's pretty good actually. SB must be one of those who keep charging ahead and expect ppl to support, dun mind him.

Now that you mention it, he was charging in a lot for the stun, but we were nowhere close to help him out.

Bought some Centaur, Keeper, and Lich items. I then tried to autopick them.

Centaur: Crushed fools left and right
KotL: Godawful game and I am ashamed.
Lich: Actually the enemy picked KotL+PL so I certainly didn't want to pick Lich so I went Pugna. I did alright until "the spiral."
