Dota 2 Beta Thread 4: Even Mike Ross Plays [Elder Titan]

I actually think its a cool concept and I'll probably play it just because I love dc cartoons as a kid. Steampunk batman/London batman looks pretty bad ass.

I doubt it'll occupy the position I hold dota 2 in but it will be a fun diversion like league.

I didn't see any creeps to farm in the trailer so not interested.

Didn't look too hard did you?

You can see the little neon robot creeps many times in the trailer (3 or 4). This is the best shot of them though.

It's always been interesting that the alpha had an Asian motif to it. Just look at the original Storm Spirit, Pudge, and others.I also remember an overhead view of an old version of the map that had all Asian style buildings.

Edit: Is that Earthshaker in a Jugg-style mask?

Old Kunkka looks so fucking badass

Urgh. Just had an Ursa, Juggernaut, Faceless Void and Axe all on one team, me as Windrunner desperately trying to support.

Ursa: 2 kills, 9 deaths
Juggernaut: 4 kills, 12 deaths
Axe: 8 kills, 9 deaths
Void: 1 kill, 5 deaths

Bearing in mind, I was a higher level than Ursa and Juggernaut throughout.

I wasn't amazing, but it was difficult seeing as we had no initiation and crap scaling. Bounty, Riki and Luna got out of hand on the other team, so we were screwed 15 minutes in pretty much.

true way to play dota, pick team fights hero, never get the chance to team fight
dignitas not doing to well without #defwin

and L-God once again proving that he's the best player in the world, in the objectively second best team in the world (check gg.net rankings scrubs)

Who is a good carry that has flexible lane setups? I'm undefeated as PA but I just know her days are numbered once I reach a real MMR

Sylla is probably the only carry that can be effective on any lane (and even jungle kinda well... at least for pubs)

The whole clip is here

Okay, so I get that it went backwards to join the creep fight, and then went all the way forwards to catch up to where its wave was supposed to be, but why did it go through the jungle? Just a weird pathing thing?

Also Reaves has become a really really funny guy over the course of FotW, I want to listen to him like...cast or something.

Troll. 100% win quote for everyone.

Yep. Troll is probably the best laner in the entire game. It's so easy to crush 1v1 or even 1v2 lanes as troll. He has every tool necessary to completely dominate a lane and get a shit ton of kills. N'aix is also a strong laner.

I'd say something Like Dark Seer and Lone Druid are the best laners, Troll is really good, but he has no safe way to farm unlike those two in case things go south.

Though he is an amazing carachter though, he has every tool to be a potent force at all stages, and I look froward to see it in competitive.

Yeah well going by dota 1, the creeps do not follow the lanes, there are some points in the map they are ordered to go so the catapult went to the point just before the dire tower, then due to agro went back a bit. The next point the game ordered to go is in the middle of the way to the tier 2 tower, so it went through the shortest path.

This was easy to exploit in dota 1, if you destroy the trees near the bottom 1 tier Sentinel (Radiant) tower the Scourge (Dire) creeps would skip that tower altoghether, going directly from just before the range of the tower the middle of the way to the tier 2 tower walking through the now non existent trees.

I really wasn't getting the Troll hype until this match a couple days ago, where I played against a competent player. I was Huskar and he absolutely shit on me because of that stupid axe move that makes your attacks miss. I hadn't realized how well Troll counters right-clickers.

Edit: Also, fuck our 0-9 rage-quitting Anti-Mage. Why is it always the fucking Anti-Mage?

Yea there are very few heroes Troll loses to head on in a "fair" fight. You need MKB to hit him all the time and even then you never know when he might stun you.

It looks like they emulated the Dota 1 Pathfinding for creeps pretty well.

The creeps are just set up to walk from check point to check point, it had reached the check point in front of the T1 tower, and the next check point is the T2 tower. Going though the Jungle was a shorter path to the next checkpoint, which is why it skipped the T1.

This game is so streaky. Last week and a bit I was on a horrendous losing streak. It didn't matter if I played well or not, whatever team I was on just got face rolled. Initially I tried to take pride in the games I did well in but it started to get to me. Dipped below the 50/50 mark I've hovered at ever since I leveled up from being incredibly terrible to only somewhat terrible, so I stopped playing for a few days. Now I'm on a nine game winning streak. Been lucky to be randomed with some good teams/players.
