If you're getting shut down by single target abilities then its a good item to get. Generally you want either 1 or the other BKB or linkens and not both (too defensive). I wouldn't ever get it as a first item in Dota though I used to in HON (probably because mana regen was higher, recipe cost was lower and single target disabling heroes were more en vogue).

Usually it'd be your second or third item, after orchid or scepter.

Personally I don't see a need for it on her.

edit ^ yeah. BKB is the better route I feel as in *most* games you shouldn't be getting targeted down by single cast spells. You'll be coming in with BKB activated to Scream + Ult, then back out again only to continue harassment after they've blown all their abilities. All, which will have done 0 damage to you thanks to BKB.

A lot of newbies in the GAF channel play with Meeru because they don't know he's Meeru / don't know what Meeru's done.
