meh. i bet she doesn't even buy wards

I know that, your post confuses me.
Your commentary about his model not being broken down alluded to the a cosmetic issue, but our issue with Zeus isn't something that can be fixed with things that can be changed with the broken down model (cosmetics).

Perhaps I misunderstood what you were trying to say in that part.

meh. i bet she doesn't even buy wards

or any other assets. still cute, though!

I actually think the lack of Slardar sets accepted is because he's going to be redesigned. It's way easier to redesign and still keep the weapons he has working, rather than having to work around armor sets and stuff.

I wish they'd pull him and Veno off the workshop though, for now.

Yeah, I suspect the decision to redo Veno came after they already broke him down. So, I still have my fingers crossed for a Slardar redesign. Those older models really can't hold a candle to the new ones.

Also, Earthshaker has to be on the list because he as some excellent cosmetics in the workshop that got absolutely no attention.

Given the nature of Valve's design process, I don't think it's possible to have open communication with your audience. It's a trade-off for the work they do, unfortunately.

i think this got buried as the last post of last page for some. the more I see of clockwerk the more I want to play him, haven't given him a chance yet

I'd say that he's the most fun hero to play in dota. He really shines as a suicide lane solo, but it takes a while to learn how to balance farm/xp and surviving on the lane (or when you can go aggresive and pick of a kill). But when you get a hang of it, you can easily make a really big impact in the game. I play clock a lot, so if you want an idea of how to play him on off-lane, you could check the replay of some of my games: http://dotabuff.com/players/23127198/matches?hero=clockwerk&game_mode=&match_type=real

PS: Don't go vanguard like I did in my older games

i can confirm that kaz's clockwerk is quite good.

his offlane alchemist is highly questionable however

I tried to be nice and friendly and told my team to 5 man, because we were been caught 3vs5 , 2 vs 3, 2 vs 2 (but they had damage)

They chose to ignore my request for 30 mins. I was so mad at the end. We had team fight potential but some kept fighting without ultis, not full health, off position, making the others try hard to get there and make something happen.

i was in rage mode by the endm, but honestly I felt we were brain dead at some point

Just played a game where our mid pudge didn't call miss. When asked about it, he said "look at your map".

The match when as well as one would expect.

Little late but - played with 1.09, Dreams, and a couple of guys they knew. You know you're doing something good when people start calling your WR shackles hackles.

That said, I never realized how much of a counter BB is to her.

Haha, that was like a year ago. I won most of those games, but it was still pretty bad.
dat ~400-500 gpm alchemist, so bad
. I might try it again some day as dire now that I know that it's possible to stack ancient spawn with acid spray.

I have something I'd like clearing up. There are all these "nicknames" for lanes that get tossed around. Suicide lane, long lane, safe lane, etc. Which lanes are all of these referring to? It's very confusing to a sort-of beginner, lol.

Suicide lane = long lane = hard lane = off lane.
Dire - Bot
Radiant - Top

Easy lane = safe lane.
Dire - Top
Radiant - Bot

This should cover most of it. http://youtube.com/#/watch?v=54g5ej4NAek&desktop_uri=/watch?v=54g5ej4NAek

Suicide lane = top lane for radiant, bot lane for dire.

Long lane is aka suicide lane.
Easy lane = bot lane for radiant, top lane for dire.

suicide lane=hard lane(=long lane=short lane)
safe lane=easy lane(=short lane=long lane)
mid lane=mid lane

Safe lane is where the creeps meet close to your tower after the creeps spawn, hard lane far away. It's easier to farm on the safe lane, so you usually put your carry there. Suicide lane usually refers to a 1vX lane on the hard lane.
Short lane and long lane aren't good descriptions to use, because people use them differently.

edit: b34t3n like a dirty socialist

I don't like that article, historical revisionism. Historically short lane was always the easy lane, at least afaik. I had never heard anyone call the easy lane "long lane" before dota 2.

I've never heard anything other than top, mid, bot before DotA 2... lol. I miss my solo bot Furion :(

Eh, I'm more of the opinion that MIA calls are courtesy calls. It's really, really nice if you call them but every player should be periodically checking the map. Otherwise, it's far too easy to start getting into the blame game over something that, if you try and keep track of it yourself, will improve your personal play anyway.

No. mid missing call is essential, especially since most people never buy wards.
Depends on your skill level I guess.

Prolly the source of the confusion

Actually both. Ideally, people should call missing and people should also be aware of what's going on on the mini-map.

Oh, I definitely think you should call it if you see it. But there are way too many games where people will be like "WTF? Huskar in my lane! Where's the call?" when their mid player has been ganking as well.

Also, it's helpful to have everyone keeping an eye on the map so the chances of catching someone through your wards are improved instead of relying on someone else to do the pinging.

But yeah, be a good person and call it if you see it. Hell, I sometimes call MIAs for lanes I'm not even in.

Too hard to last hit and be checking mini map. No communication is gg

zzz, you should be calling gank/careful

Pretty much. Yeah it helps to call, especially when you're in the middle of a fight and a random Puck is making their way towards your lane, but if you're just normally csing it's pretty easy to keep track of the minimap.

9 minutes in, Pudge or NS gank a sidelane "OMG WHERE SS"

My personal favourite is when you call mia, they get ganked a minute later. "Where SS?!"

Uhhh, I called it. They still haven't come back buddy. Do you want a five second reminder they're still not in the lane? If I haven't said "re" they're still "ss."

Reported. Enjoy low priority.

Enjoy the depths of the trench.

Edit: VP really gunning for that loser's bracket final spot, eh?

Yeah, it's always been so confusing to me. I've always known short = easy, but when I came back to dota 2, short = hard? IDK ANYMORE

I just use hard/safe lane now anyway if I want to refer to them.

Man, you guys weren't kidding when you said the best feeling is beating a cheesy combo like KotL + PL. They went up against our Weaver + Dark Seer and got completely shut down. SD and I (Tiny) went up against Slardar + Enigma, which was pretty rough. They were extremely aggressive and we basically spent the first ~5 minutes of the match blowing all of our mana and beating each other up. It was fun but nerve-wracking because one mistake got you killed. Thankfully our Storm Spirit absolutely stomped their Morph in mid and started ganking other lanes, which led to us dominating the mid/late game and winning.

I am now on an 11 win streak. I'm getting so nervous for the eventual equalizer loss streak.

/random - Played a fun combo the other night. Dark Seer and Clockwork long/hard lane. We were vs an AM and whomever his support was (AA I think). Anyway, Shell + Surge on a Battery Assaulted clockwork is hilarious. AM never got the chance to blink away and just melted.

Yeah, saying long or short lane just breeds confusion. I never use those terms because they can be interpreted either way for a couple of reasons. Safe/hard/suicide are usually the only terms I'd use besides top/bot/mid.

And in reference to one of the other posts above (on phone so I can't quote it as easily):

Luna probably won't be redesigned - her model is pretty good as is. She just happens to be in the pool of heroes that never had a released break down, albeit probably one of the most requested/desired ones.

Imagine how small he would have to be? Because that bird is huge. He would be 1/2 or 1/4 the size of Sniper

Yeah that's actually what I was thinking it was and it would have been awesome. A little fairy size creature that rides a largish bird and evens the playing field with the power of his magic.
