In one game we were destroying the other team and got cocky.
We were messing around in their base and didn't realise they had troll warlord pushing bottom. He broke out ancient and barrack alone...
Never again will I mess around.

Hmm. WD having most of the kills on your team, and then building a Dagon with it probably contributed. Did they have a disconnect? that would just be feeding more gold to Alch.
You guys didn't have a great carry/semi-carry to compete with him - looks like Viper was having a bad game.
I have no explanation for the 38 mostly un-assisted kills though.

Yeah, that's what happens when you let an Alchemist farm... If you watch the replay, watch the XP / Gold graphs and just watch what alchemist does. He outfarmed you guys an unbelievable amount. There was nothing you could have done except called GG at the end.
Though, it's really obvious that you're in noob MM. That Lina is absolutely raw LOL
Somewhere along the fight, Alch has picked up Divine Rapier. That would do it.

No, lol. There are A LOT of fake Navi names in pubs. Also there is no Joshua in the Dota 2 Navi team... and even if there was I doubt he would be playing against you if you are new.

so i played like 3 matches of dota 2, it was interesting. Matches are long so trying to find a hero that works for me is gonna be difficult. I think i have the basic gameplay down but the item stuff confuses the fuck out me since there's so much stuff. I might keep coming back since it seems cool.

Read guides, watch videos, go for basic core item builds until you get the hang of it. Dota has a steep learning curve but once you descend deep enough into that rabbit hole theres no coming out.

I like Jakiro, he's fun to play. Granted the fearsome Na'Vi.Joshua dropped early after I got first blood on him, but I tried to take advantage of this to gank my lane opponent so that he doesn't get outsized XP and gold. Then I kinda randomly bought stuff from the store that looked cool and melted the opposition.

Usually with DS illusions, drag select them all and right click on the target. They have no abilities to use or anything, so as long as they are hitting the enemy team and not creeps, they're doing their job.
If you manage to get a copy of their carry, right click them on the squishy supports and watch the team destroy itself.

Haha. I think in low level matchmaking no one has a clue what they're doing so we're generally just running around pressing random buttons to fill the time.

If Alchemist start free farming/gone for long periods its auto-gg.
You have to keep tabs on his jungling or farming - especially ancients. IE wards/ganks
Its pretty obvious what happened. Alch is potentially a smurf. Your team just slept after 2 of their heroes abandoned early. Alchemist used this opportunity to farm up and starting killing the squishies. He has a passive that grants him bonus gold on kill which makes him a godly farmer, which is why you have to constantly apply pressure on him.Man fuck this game.

None of your teammates built appropriate items to deal with him. A Heaven's Halbred, Guinsoo with some team work would've won you guys the match. Killing him once would allow you guys to push to victory. Once the game went late there was no hope, Viper had no farm and even if he had equivalent items Alch would've smoked him in one stun.
I'm asking if there are any other items that modify animations?

I still have no idea what to do when I encounter an enemy hero, even if it's a bot.
When is the best time to heal?
Also, for some reason it looks like there's a vaseline filter over the whole game for me, and in-game HUD text is a bit hard to read. I'm playing in 1440 x 900 resolution (native monitor resolution) if that's part of the problem. My framerate probalby sucks but I don't really know how to measure it without going through the trouble of booting up fraps. Does the source engine console command for that work?

The settings work just fine. It's the people selecting languages other than their own that fuck it up.
