DO NOT IGNORE ME VALVE pls fix

Really, we don't have that much conversation that we need multiple topics. We would likely be better off just having Trade Chat in here too.

How do we feel a about a Dota 2 noobs thread / GAF helps you learn how to play?

Seems like there's a lot of new guys at the mo and it might be difficult to sift though this thread for the stuff they need.
If you are new --> Read the OP it's quite good

I am speechless at how good a draft .cn was handed against this lineup. Guardian Angel, Ice Blast to turn off the four melee heroes of .int lifestealing the crap through teamfights...

Luna way overnerfed. She's not remotely OP in her current state, just very good.

While I LOVE a couple of the suggestions (AA buff for example), some others just seem insane.

Wisp can choose to instantly revert back to original jump point? CM buff gives you a percentage of your max mp back as her aura (and still doesn't get a MS buff)? Ursa's consecutive hits with fury swipes makes you lose 4% of your main attribute per hit? Sacrifice receiving a MASSIVE cd reduction on Lich? Sand King being guaranteed an uninterrupted ult channel after burrowstrike vs a single unit?

Some of that stuff is just completely unnecessary. I really can't imagine it getting through to the final game.

Never saw this before

Even if fake, its a good fake since basically everyone gets a buff and no drastic overnerfs. I just want the Axe buff to be real, it's exactly the buff he needs.

These are some pretty massive changes. Dazzle's poison touch becoming a stun is wild if true. I so want CM's ult buff to happen. Everytime I use it I am just waiting to get stunned or autoattacked to death two seconds into the animation. Though Dazzle's Shallow Grave being 1000 at all levels makes it seem like a fake to me. That means the only change via leveling it up would be a decrease in mana costs, which is so minimal for an INT hero. I'm going to pretend the Axe stuff is true though.

I've gone nearly 3/4 weeks without Dota.

I had laser eye surgery last month. So I took a week off. But then my computer stopped powering on so I had to send it back to the guy who built it. So far the issue is a mystery to him and he's had it 12 days and counting. He's says I might need a new case because switch is broken. Then my wife decides she's taking 2 weeks off so as to decorate the bedroom and apparently it has to include my games room. So all my console's have been packed away too. That's not the end of it though. What does the silly woman do? Cuts the bloody broadband internet cable by accident, don't know how but she managed it. Now an engineer needs to come round and he's been booked for next week.

When all is well I'm going to forget the world and it will just be me and Dota.

spend some time with your wife you grunk

I do spend time with her. We have set rules and stuff on time together. Like all meals together, always. Likewise all the shopping. We go for runs together.

I can only play games after 9-10 in the evening after she goes to bed. Although she allows me to play in general when ever I want, but once she's in bed it's guaranteed "me" time.

She wears the pants tbh as she wants to be running things. I'm fine with the arrangement. :)

Man sometimes after a long ass day I want to play a game of Dota 2 without going for some massive try hard set up. Too bad the bracket I am in is ruthless these days and no mistakes are left unpunished. I can't use unfamiliar heroes because then I might underperform and cost the game. Getting caught in the same ol' meta game. I am waiting for a patch, new hero or something to shake things up.

The server issues are compounding the matter, I think I need a break. But if I take a break and I come back I will have a massive lose streak and I will get demoralized further.

A lot of places are still catching up with the renaming, going to take a few weeks to get everyone to actually call them by their new name.

I feel like I'm at that level as well. I remember when i was still getting better and I could just try new heroes and things would go well, but I'm much less likely to do that now. I also don't all pick because I feel like I've gotten out picked every time.

I mostly just do practice against bots until gaf groups appear, since I feel I often get put in a slightly lower bracket, or if I'm playing with higher level gaffers, I can rely on them to be good. Of course practicing against bots just shows how poor they are at pretty much every function a dota player needs to be effective, but at least I'm practicing last hitting and can try weird item builds to see how they function generally.

Lost my first bot match in about a year last night. Feels bad man. But did help drive home the reminder that I shouldn't play hard support with my friends. Especially someone like Enigma that can't do much when his ultimate is down (and can't do anything when he gets a 4-5 man blackhole and his own team runs screaming for the hills).

Yea I don't play All Pick because it's filled with people rolling as a stack and they immediately pick the try hard stuff and dominate pubs with it. I almost always play RD or SD because even if they are stacks at least I don't usually have to deal with Nyx or Batrider non sense.

I don't really like playing against bots either but it's really the only option to be practicing heroes/builds. Too much vitriol is thrown around unconventional picks and builds... unless you dominate with it.
