Had a game on Saturday where a Void carried a three melee carry team (I was an Alchemist and we had a Spectre), but there was a hilarious point near the middle where he dropped a chronosphere literally a split second after the enemy Witch Doctor popped his ult, and he accidentally trapped three of us inside it, and we all died.

It was mostly a joke, but backtrack is one of the few things in the game that just makes me rage when I fight against it. Lifestealer maxxed out, rage'd, with trolls ult, and void backtracks half of the attacks and barely makes it away...hate that.

It is pretty rage inducing when he is low health and backtracks lion/lina ults or something..

Those are genuines, genuines are items gotten through purchased goods IE t-shirt, mouse, headset, ticket. But cluckles, snowl, just about everything in the game drops except for a small handful of items like Immortals.
 
Everyone's talking about first item on Void but no one's mentioned midas yet. I am shocked and a little bit disgusted.

midas -> boots -> maelstrom It's the best.

You're assuming people can farm a < 10 minute Midas.

edit: And survive easily in a lane.
 
Players know this is an issue, and need to do more about it. It happened to Bulldog the other day, and it seems like he hasn't done a thing about it.
 
I'm wondering if these DDOS think they are hackers or something, I mean ddosing someone is about as hard as going pro in league; it's not something to be proud of.

If you're going for a mask first you probably don't want to get it too late either, and it's definitely easier finding that 1900 at 10 than it is the 4350 for a battlefury at 14.

I think if you're on a team where you can't farm a <10 minute midas then you're probably going to rely heavily on your team during chronos anyways, in which case the best item build is crossing your fingers.

Early Midas with noobs just means bigger courier merry-go-round
 
Midas->Bfury is a lot better if you know that you have time to farm it. (or even straight bfury)
Midas->Mael->MoM is a build created for being efficient as soon as possible in team fights with void.
 
It'd be nice if someone crunched the numbers on midas versus bfury timings/farm. A bfury on void without attack speed to me is good for two things only, farming and split push. If you run too far past 14 mins on your bfury timing I feel the midas starts to win.

Midas into bfury is like the greediest shit I've ever heard. I love it.
 
I build MoM as an alternative to BFury, and use it mostly for farming. I also try to activate it early, so once your Chrono runs out so does your MoM, making it a bit less dangerous.
Also using MoM to farm makes getting Maelstrom pretty easy. Then stack attack speed all day. Mjollinir + AC.
 
I decided to give the game a try after watching the Giant Bomb videos with it the other night. I started with some bot matches and quickly found out that even against bots I stood no chance. Still really enjoyed it and am looking forward to learning some more and hopefully getting better but it will be awhile before I play against other people.

Without the guide feature I would have been lost picking items. I didn't use it the first game and just the quantity of available stuff was overwhelming. The second game I used a guide mostly for getting items and found it a lot easier to play.

But yeah, standard build would be bfury->mom/bkb->then probably bfly

There was a time I was in a lane with a KotL against a Void and he backtracked EVERY DAMN ILLUMINATE! We lost that game to the RNG. That Void would have ate so many Illuminates and we would have killed him if it weren't for him being extremely lucky.

Last time I was void against a kotl every one of them hit me.. in laning stage.

We lost that game.. (think I even maxed backtrack because I hoped to backtrack some of them)

Hmm, I really don't like that progression. What do you need the Morbid Mask for if you have the Perseverance? You lifesteal like 10 HP per hit on lower levels and if you are getting harassed, you can't go to hit more than once per creep anyways. Jungling is way too slow with just a Perseverance as well. If you're gonna go BFury, get it as soon as possible. On some heroes like Juggernaut you can go BFury after Phase Boots + Drums if your initial push fails and you want to transition into splitpushing, but in general, if you want a BFury, you get it before 15 minutes ideally.
 
I started playing DOTA 2 over the weekend. For whatever reason I enjoy playing support and went with the Warlock and really enjoy it. What I have found in my first few games is playing with a random group has been a terrible experience. 5 or 6 games thus far and no wins / nobody stays in the game for a full duration.
Anyone out there want to let me play with them from time to time? Here is my steam id. Also anyone have any warlock items they dont need?
