Dota 2 Beta Thread 4: Even Mike Ross Plays [Elder Titan]

So this happened yesterday
I was playing first time gyro since a long time. So i wans't sure if I'll be doing well. Turns out, watching all those pro matches and copying their gyro play turned out very well. Got 3 kills within the first 7 minutes into the game and continued my quest for glory.
Well, you know the story of Icarus right? Game was basically over and I was swimming in 13k gold.... Hell, I'll not buy one, but TWO rapiers ahahahha. That's what I was thinking at least. My team also encouraged me to do this. Well, I'm not completely stupid, so I wanted to take rosh first. Just as he dies, I grab Aegis, and suddenly enemies everywhere. I die, respawn, proceed to kill, but now the next aegis will spawn in 10 minutes and I don't have time to stall the game that long. I bought the 2 rapiers thinking this will be easy now. Push mid and win.
You know what happenes now: I go in, got permastunned before I pop BKB and die. 2 rapiers gone. Nightstalker picks both up. So at this point I think we are fucked.
But now check this: Nightstalker was comically underfarmed the whole game. So what he wanted to do, is give Lanaya the rapiers. Sure you can't drop them, but his plan was even more genius. GET KILLED BY NEUTRALS! Instead of going to the ancients, he went to radiant close hard camp. Problem was: We had a ward there! That whole thing was so funny to watch. Nightstalker getting lower and lower and as he was 1/8 HP lanaya gets close to take the rapiers:
Not knowing that I was already on my way. I pop Call Down, and every single other spell I have, go in, kill both take back my rapiers, take the next rosh, and finish that game. What a ride hahah
I saw what looked like a wall of text and was nervous, but then I read it and am glad I did. That's hilarious.
He should apologize for playing that hero

A lot of both, actually.
Most (all? - I don't remember anything that looked like Alchemist/Warlock/Rubick and a few others, but I just played Frozen Throne) heroes are some type or variation of some model/character in Warcraft. Some heroes had similar abilities (see: Bladespin from Juggernaut/Yunero) but they've been modified for the most part in some shape/fashion. As far as what an ability does for a new hero, it's just whatever someone comes up with. I wonder if you can find the old character creation threads... I'll dig around.

Looks like Alliance is the best chance for the west to win TI3. I think if a Chinese team wins again this year then the west should probably change their style to match the turtle/farm style of China. Sure it sucks and it's not something I will watch, but a million bucks is a million bucks, and in the end winning The International is what it's all about.

What a game! I was sure we were on our way to a game being thrown after you got stun-locked! I actually thought someone had destroyed the rapiers when I didn't see them drop.
When we got the 2 rapiers back I was really relieved...lol
First time in my whole time playing dota I feel like one of my wards was useful!

What on earth are you talking about.
No seriously, what are you talking about. Recently it's the western games that have been leaning more towards building around carries farming, while the Chinese and SEA scene has focused a lot more on early aggression and seizing early advantages.
Edit: We just had a game where Loda dedicated approximately twenty minutes to farming random shit up on his PL.

Isn't TI3 in August? That's still too long
99% chance it comes out within the next 4 weeks. Icefraud/Valve will want a stable meta for TI3 and so will give pro teams at least 2 months of prep time. He's not going to release a gigantic patch with new content (6.78 load screen was revealed awhile back, and it seems like it's going to be BIG) one week before the biggest dota tournament in the world lol.

Based on concept art, next up after this batch is Techies and Pit Lord. That'll be a wild ride. Techies is basically a meme, when they're actually added, it'll be pretty funny to see the reactions.
I have no idea what's holding Terrorblade back. No concept art or mentions or anything. Like he barely even exists, even if he's an old and popular hero...
