Just wrapped up an amazing match with Bristleback. It was all random, I was honestly expecting a loss. The other team had such a better team composition and LOTS of stun. I showed up late for a team fight (only one alive at this point) and they proceeded to chase me... it was game over from there. Within a few seconds Quills/Bristleback wiped them out and I just snowballed from there. Had a lot of fun running away all match and simultaneously killing everyone at the same time.
 
Oh other news:

My TA games always suck. I usually do well (or at least okay), but my teammates always end up fucking the game up to an irreparable state before I even have a chance to have much of an effect. Just hard, hard times with her.

Did win a Slark game today though - I think possibly my first win with him. Game was really close but we pulled it out. He really needs a solo or someone to combo with for kills and/or get easy farm early or else you'll really be on the back foot and be forced to jungle. He kind of has mana problems - might be worth considering Arcane Boots on him, but a drum + whatever (treads?) is probably good enough for most circumstances, especially if you have someone helping you out with the mana like KotL, CM, or someone else with Arcanes.

Edit: Na`Vi why u have to cancer?! Well Liquid does have the pick off build. Harder to execute though.

As far as I'm concerned, no one should ever jungle to start in a pub match unless it's agreed upon beforehand who's going to be soloing a side lane. Preferably, using one of the few heroes who excels at soloing a 2v1 lane. The 2-1-2 setup is standard in pub matches for a reason: it's the most flexible with regards to hero composition. Jungle and trilane setups require specific compositions, or you'll end up at a significant disadvantage.

It would be good if you could inject/emulate latency to the players.

What I mean by that is if you are going to be playing a competitive match online, you find the server that gives the best overall pings then the game itself or some third party software gives everyone equal ping. Which I guess would have to be equal with the highest players ping.

Sounds like it might be a small nightmare to average out pings to provide a consistent experience, but I suppose you could clamp updates to specific high values (ie +/- 25 MS).
 
Yeh... 9 rares incoming here. Well done Liquid. Sick play, start to finish. Happy with the result, happy with the items, happy with seeing the Na`Vi fanboys crying in stream chat.
 
I need to play Skywrath Mage, as I don't know the ins and outs of that hero yet. He seems really useful in different roles though. Mid he works well obviously, but I just had one supporting me as Faceless Void. His spells must have a good range on them, because he told me to just Chronosphere someone and he could drop his ultimate under the Chronosphere. We used this all game and it worked well, despite Luna running rampant on us early to mid game. I still got my farm and they couldn't stop us.

Happy for liquid, sad for navi. But had it gone the other way I would have been happy for navi and sad for liquid so no big deal.

Just wanted to warn every non-single man reading this thread to not even think about starting playing this game if you're not completely sure your SO is ok with you being unavailable to her for hours at a time. Turns out women really don't like that.

My girlfriend of 3 years(two of which living together) decided to break up with me yesterday and apparently me playing too much dota played a big part in it(along with the fucking guy she was courting behind my back for the better part of the month of course). Which sucks in numerous ways of course, one of which being that even though I a) now have all the time in the world to play and b) need a bunch of distraction, which this game would certainly provide plenty of, I don't think I can ever enjoy this game again(I'm weird like that).

Sorry for venting in this thread of all threads, but I don't have thread creation rights(nor do I think this merits a thread) and I didn't know where to post but felt like it. Feel free to ignore.

That sucks to hear - moderation is best for all things of course, but in this case if she didn't raise this issue with you and try to work through it then likely something would have happened at some point down the line anyway, even if it wasn't DOTA. Onwards and upwards, enjoy a bit of bachelordom :)
 
I had no idea that Lifestealer's Rage purges Magnus's Empower. That kind of sucks, but I guess it would make Lifestealer broken if it didn't.

If she was seeing someone behind your back, believe me, the game was just a lame excuse to dump you.
 
Any good Meepo players out there? Gimme your keybinds please. After this awkward all random incedent I want to practice with him to avoid such situations later.

It's not even binds, just need to practice him really. Bot games are great to learn the basics of Meepo without fucking up other peoples games.

I agree a bit but nah, the game was a symptom of my general lack of drive and ambition(which was partially fueled by her, I was content and felt safe and I'm lazy, I didn't let myself go but I was a little too complacent(?) I guess) which led her to introspect and explore if she could fall in love with another man(she hasn't cheated physically btw, though he'll probably be all up in that by monday). I learned most of that through "hacking" her facebook(not my finest hour, but I needed answers and got them and I deserved them imo). This all leads to her being pretty much over me already while I'm still full throttle.
The "funny" thing is this'll probably fix most of the problems she had with me while that dude seems to be literally the lamest fucker on earth. I'm just sad right now and dread the shit that's gonna rain down on me now(apartment and stuff).

In my over 500 hours of DotA Ive seen ONE good Meepo player. He went #YOLO mid and raped face, ended the game 40/1/30 or something stupid like that. Was lvl 25 at 25 minutes

I think they you just need to play tonnes of bot games with him to practice your micro skills
