Dragon Age 2 wasn't bad (worse than Origins, but that's ok), and Mass Effect 3 is the best in the trilogy. I don't know what you're talking about.
Inquisition is shaping up to be the best Dragon Age, IMO.
Can't wait for this. I'm fully expecting it to be the highest scoring game of 2014 that isn't a remaster/remake, probably at a 93 or 94 average.
Come on, BioWare... I love you guys but enough with the fumbles: please hit an unqualified homerun again.
Bioware's still my favorite studio. The Mass Effect series is the best franchise I've played in my gaming years, and that includes ME2 and ME3. Everyone's free to feel the way they want on it, but it was an incredible ride in my opinion. As a Mass Effect fanatic, I can definitely concur that the ending was awful, no doubt about it. I still felt the other 95% of ME3 was fantastic though.Edit: Damn... The expectations in this thread are so high from some of you. I can't imagine having that kind of faith in Bioware at this point.
No way in hell that's going to happen. Either they add too much action qte shit to cater to the masses or too much "hardcore" rpg elements. Either way, one group will be pissed.
This will fucking deliver.

I can feel it's closeness.
That certainly appears to be a minority opinion, but hey, good on you if you enjoyed it.

Dragon Age Origins was also an excellent game to me, and yes, Dragon Age 2 did fall far short of it. However I still found enjoyment in it despite the incredibly repetitive environments, repeated wave attacks of enemies and lack of tactical camera options. The characters were enjoyable and the story was fun to me. I also view it rationally though. It basically had an 18 month development timeframe, was rushed to hell and back. The very first images that surfaced of the game were telltale all in themselves.
Dragon Age Inquisition is a different story if one cares to have kept track of it from the beginning. It was originally scheduled for Fall of last year, hell the delay alone is almost the entire development time of DA2 lol. Not only did EA allow them to delay a whole year for quality purposes, they delayed it again by over a month just to continue to polish as much as possible. They've been supremely confident with showing the game off, which speaks a lot. There's really no reason to even entertain the thought that this will be bad, or as disappointing as DA2. They've brought back the tactical camera and done away with wave attacks. Each combat scenario is hand crafted for tacticality. The game world is massive with 10 or more regions, with a few being larger than all of DAO. The game looks gorgeous in Frostbite, they've brought back multiple races again after removing them in DA2, including adding Qunari to the mix. They've brought back deep customization for party members, deeper weapon customization, combat has been improved, tons of areas to explore and discover...

One thing shinobi doesnt mention is that the combat has none of the depth of DAO and just continues on the hack n slashfest that DA2 was
DAO wasnt that deep to begin with, more like wrpg lite
Actually it has more. Enemies have vulnerabilities, you have to take into account that holy shit shields actually block damage, you need to position, etc.One thing shinobi doesnt mention is that the combat has none of the depth of DAO and just continues on the hack n slashfest that DA2 was

People need to keep timelines in mind. DA:O had over 5 years in development and Bioware built their own engine. DA2 had about 1.5 years in development. DA: Inquisition has had about 3.5 years in development and Bioware had the engine provided to them. So if it sucks, it won't be for lack of content. And writing, which is how ME3 was criticized, has no basis for concern IMO. People have called DA2 too limited in scope, but I haven't seen anyone say it's a step off in writing compared to DA:O.

Despite the criticisms of Bioware, their in the minority for the genre of game they make (AAA Heavily story driven RPG's).
I'm ploughing through Awakening right now, and am going to try my best to wrap up DA2 (a game I never finished past Chapter 2) before this lands. I am really stoked, but damn these games are long.

It's okay, you can say "shit" here.Dragon Age: Inquisition |OT| Escape from Sh!t Mountain
or
Dragon Age: Inquisition |OT| Return to Sh!t Mountain
I wonder which one it will be.

I'm sooooo glad they added controller support for PC this time so I can rock out on the couch.
Any word on Origin preloading?
