Dragon Age: Inquisition has gone gold

What difficulty do people recommend playing this game on? I'm new to the series. I'd like a challenge and consider myself average at games. I usually play games on 'normal' difficulty but fear this game might be too easy on 'normal' due to party members assisting in combat. I think the difficulty in Skyrim and Fallout is perfect - very challenging in parts, particularly when doing side quests and going up against some very powerful enemies. I love that you actually need to level up and become more powerful before completing some of those side quests. If you don't, it's a massive challenge which can be fun too.

Normal might be your thing then but just play at whatever difficulty you find enjoyment with!

Myself, i had a horrible time with the first game on normal and ended up trading it in but repurchased it sometime later and playing on easy which led to a more enjoyable time and ultimately gave me more of a chance to play around and learn the mechanics. I mean i've played numerous rpgs but the first game kicked my ass. DA2 on the other hand was quite easy even on normal.

ERMAGERD!!!!! I hope this one is good, I've been waiting for a good action-based RPG for Xbox One that's not Diablo.

Dragon Age isn't action RPG but tactical RPG really.
EDIT That said, i actually have no idea how DAI differs from DAO and DA2, beyond having open world.

I'm wondering how often those Inquisition conversation perks come into play, and exactly how they affect things aside from the XP boost. Do they open up quest chains? Give extra background info? Allow persuasion options?

Okay, finally pre-ordered on PC. I wanted to catch the last bit of the Green Man Gaming sale ($47.99). Just FYI all, I think it ends tonight.

I also played around in the Keep a bit, which is pretty cool. My DA2 character showed up right away, but my DAO guy isn't there yet. Maybe it just takes some time. Is there going to be an option to create a character if it doesn't port your guy? I can't remember if that's already been mentioned here.

Importing your DAO Warden/Hawke to the Keep doesn't doesn't carry over their appearance, so if there is a CC for Hawke in Inquisition (and there should be) it's what everyone will be using regardless.

Is there a voucher or is it just on sale? I'm looking at it now and GMG shows $59.99 for me.

I cant pick between ps4 or pc. I know it has a lot of screen tearing, but im not gonna get the the gtx 980(waiting on the free game deals) nor my philips g-sync monitor anytime soon. But im traveling in december i might stay outside of the country for well over 2 weeks and i can travel with my ps4.

Its looking like im gonna have to double dip.

Screen tearing on what, PC or PS4? Also how do you know it will have screen tearing.

Depends on your specs. If you're at or above recommended you will be playing better than PS4 quality at 60fps, as opposed to 30fps on PS4.

There is also the multiplayer part to consider... if you have buds who you wanna play mp with on PS4, that could sway you. I'm actually going PS4 I think for that reason.

There was a bunch of tearing in one if the twitch streams... I forget which one.

Man I'm hyped. I'm rare as fuck in that I preferred DA2 over DA:O. Can't wait to continue the story. Gotta do The Keep tomorrow.

Yeah I love the way DA Origins looked, DA2 looked too flat to me, it looked over all worse. Sure there were probably better tech in DA2 but it seemed wasted due to how bland everything looked.

DA2 was a dull, brown mess.

And what do you think about this?

I should probably be more hyped for this than I am. Pretty much know nothing about it, other than they really put in some work to win back faith after DA2. At least that's the impression I got.

if this game didnt come out when it does, I would be all over it. Unfortunately, it does, so I guess ill check it out around january give or take

Any word on the total world size, in terms of explorable content?

Well there are ten main zones. One we've seen the most is the Hinterlands which they've said is larger than all of DAO combined and it's only a medium sized location. So likely pretty damn big. 10x DAO at least I'd say. Probably a good deal larger.

I just realized this and another big game I want are out on the same day. Ugh. Not sure what I'll do yet, I don't like playing 2 games at once, and both have big open worlds. There goes November...

And the good thing is it will most likely be cheaper the longer you wait.

well sure, but I actually wanted to get it at release. but alas, Warlords and all... its not even about quality of one over the other, any game would be the same, its just, if you play wow, you know that you play the xpacs at release, if only then (im fully expecting to be bored again after 1 month, hence my january comment about DA). That first month with all the newness tho...

Goddamn. It's been too long since Buoware goodness.

Did The Keep, the little video jogged my memory a ton. Got it set up just as I remember.

So hyped, but scared of spoilers, with EA access i'm sure some people will speed run as fast as they can into the main story in 3-6 hours w/e, and I heard a rumor that some streamers are allowed to start on the 11th O.o?

Media blackout time for me.

Same. See you on the other side, gaf brehs.

For those who pre-ordered the PC version on origins, do you know why it still shows the game as "Coming Soon" on the origins client, instead of the pre-load date?

While I was browsing the bioware forums I noticed that people who pre-ordered have their pre-load dates displayed on the client. So i'm wondering why it doesn't show on mine.
