Dragon Age: Inquisition has gone gold

Any word on which console this runs best, 1080p..etc ?

Got both on pre-order at amazon..let me know fellaz and ill cancel the weakling one.

thx!

BioWare says 1080p/30fps on both. No word on how stable either one is, though. If one runs better, the smart money's on PS4, but who knows? I'm sure Digital Foundry will have their analysis up in time for you to choose.

EDIT: I'm a dope. Xbox version is actually 900p.

EDIT: And I guess they haven't confirmed framerate, either? I'm just a sack of lies.

But really, c'mon. This ain't gonna be 60fps.

How so? I like watching lets plays of games I'm unsure of

I'm guessing he means because there have been a lot of gameplay videos shown already by multiple youtubers as well as a bunch of twitch streams that have showcased the game in some respect.

It was confirmed a few weeks ago in a BioWare twitch stream that PS4 runs it at 1080p and Xbox One at 900p!

Edit: Beaten to the punch lol

Consoles are 30fps. PC is whatever your specs can run it as.

Edited... due to some meme I'm not even aware of ?

Well... it will be 60fps on the official box of the master race.. but that's a story for another time brothers and sisters :)

That latest trailer is so delicious, I can taste the fade rifts being purged in my mouth.

that stupid ass meme is banned, so I would change it.

Has Bioware or anyone else addressed the question as to whether multiplayer will have an impact on the single-player game, a la Mass Effect 3's? mp?

Yes
BioWare began working within the Frostbite 3 engine to make the "dungeon-delve" multiplayer a reality.

However, these experiences and items will not transfer into the single-player mode. BioWare made the decision to keep these two modes completely separate, even so far as to not let the loot you grab carry over, because not all Dragon Age players may be the online team-game type.

"There's no gameplay connection between them," Lee said. "We wanted that because we didn't want to impact the story in negative ways, because some players may play both modes and some may not."

Any new information about the 360-version? Will it be released on two discs? I have a 360 and a PS3 but unfortunately no next gen console. Most times it's the best to pick up the 360-version, but who knows. Perhaps it's better on PS3.

The elves... I can't stand their design -3-

Doesn't mean the same here ?
http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/embargo

All games that are provided to reviewers ahead of time have an embargo that states when the review can be posted. Day before release or same day review embargoes are the most common these days. Bioware/EA is allowing the reviews to go up a full week before release. The speculation is that they are very confident that it will review well and want to let time for good word of mouth from the reviews to build.

My brain can't decide on whether to be more hyped about the SP or the MP, it hurts.

ME3 MP is my favorite MP game of last gen. DA:O is my favorite SP game of last gen.

I may actually spend all my 6 hours time on the Multiplayer with the EA Access. I don't think I want to start the SP and burn through my 6 hours in one day only to have to wait 4 more days to continue.

So I've never played a Dragon Age game and I have no desire to go back and play the previous titles. Will I be lost playing this game? Should I read up on the story elements from DA 1, 2, and Origins?

You probably won't be lost, but never hurts to read some lore. And Dragon Age 1 = Dragon Age origins

Can Qunari males have beards and hairs?
I don't want mine to go fully bald (although horns are badass) :(
Beards yes, Horns and Hair are combined so hair depends which horns you choose

Behead me if old.

Article from AusGamers. Goes to detail about beginning of the game, kinda, so if want ride spoiler free train then don't read this, but otherwise click.

Also another post from AusGamers, this time news article about DAI. It's about
blood magic
in DAI or
more how it won't be
in DAI. If felt secure enough to read spoilers then read more here.

They can have beards - there's a hilarious 'Qunari Santa' on one of the previews kicking about. There is also a small selection of hair for Qunari - not very many, and nowhere near as varied as the horn selection, but no - you won't have to be bald :)

I feel the same :D I love Dragon Age Origins but the ME3 MP was so good. It's my most played multiplayer game so far. If DAI's MP is similar I probably end up spending more time there than on the SP.

Is the combat as bad as it looks?
I saw Dark Souls being mentioned, but it appears more like consolized button mashing with neither the strategic swordplay or satisfying feedback of DS. I can't imagine myself sitting through 200 hours of that stuff, even if the story is good.

The combat looks great

Not sure what video you were watching

What does DS have to do with DAI?? totally different gameplay.
DA:I is aprty based real time action open world RPG with the optional ability to seamlessly pause and plan your next moves.
Here is a short video showcasing it

Serious? I expected the worse and was surprised that it made fun, but it was only a nice bonus in my opinion.
It was certainly the best horde mode of last gen, I'll give it that. Bioware did an awesome job with the ME3 multiplayer and DA:I sounds like it has something even better.

Still confusing to me. Dragon Age SP is an ability driven game. There's no active dodge, attack, etc. Is the gameplay just completely different in MP?

There is active dodge in Inquisition though it's an ability you unlock in skill trees. And attack is active, no aut0-attack.

DA: I is still an RPG first and foremost, though. Expecting the hit boxes and collision detection to be like a true action game will probably lead to disappointment.

Yay, getting a PS4 this weekend. I know I should wait for black friday, but I already have infamous second son to play. I don't really expect that amazing of a deal, so might as well get it now and be ready for DA:I!

But this is still all decided by dice rolls, right?

No, it's a true active dodge, but it drains stamina like any other ability so it cant be spammed. For the parry I'm not sure if it's a % chance to parry or not, actually. But you can also see in the demos people timing Cassandra's shield block with projectiles to deflect them. It's not going to be as strict on timing as a true action game might, but think of how Stonewall worked in DA2.

Damn it, the anticipation is killing me. Do you think it's too late to sell out and request a review copy of a big budget game for my return to semi-professional review writing?

Incoming: New Vivienne video releasing in one hour! #DAI #MyInquisition

Hmmm...anyone else get the feeling Vivienne is going to be an important part of Inquisition's plot?

Will buy it today.
Ill priorize this game over GTA V since only the 1st person is still not enough to make me double dip it.

Well, I do think that the Inquisition will have a Judas.

Never too late mate, if I had that option, I would be knee deep in Thedas ASAP.

Anyone else wish they would release a character creator demo, so you can create your character now and import into full game? Cause I know I'm going to take like an hour or more trying to get the right look.

So this is for people who have not played the first two games?

No it's more for people who have played the first two games and want to set/tweak the various decisions they made going into Inquisition. However the narrated bit is sort of a very non-detailed 'story so far' that, along with other resources, could help a new player not feel overwhelmed :)
