Dragon Age: Inquisition has gone gold

This is the only thing I can share because it's content from the preview session (embargo over).

Are those screens from PC or console?

I WANT TO PLAY THIS NOW!!

I still remember when DA:I was announced I was hyped as fuck, but thought it was an eternity away, and now, even after 2 delays, it's finally here!

Only problem is I don't have a PS4, but I don't want to play it on PS360 :/

The PC/PS4 are pretty comparable right in performance and graphics? Other than interface? I guess should just wait on the digital foundry to found out.

I suspect PS4 version to be mix of medium and high settings when it comes to graphics. Performance differences fully depend on specs of your PC.

Well, PC can go 60+ FPS. Consoles are locked at 30.

We don't know enough about graphics settings to say just how much better PC is.

BF4 ran at a combo of medium high and Ultra PC settings on PS4 for comparison with a game running the same (Albeit an older version) engine. And this engine hums on PC - it's a PC engine. They've done a great job with Frostbite. My 780 ti can run BF4 at 1440p (so almost twice the number of pixels as 1080p) at about 100 FPS vs the PS4's 900p at avg 55 FPS. Of course the 780 ti alone costs more thana PS4 ;) But my point is this engine is super well optimized.

Well, from what I saw of it on streams, it looked damn good. I saw some light pop in on the PS4 version. It should look leagues better than the PS3 version anyway.

I was sorta set on going 2-handed warrior since I've never really run that before, but man from that footage it doesn't look that fun in battle. Just kinda hacking away.

Probably will go back to Mage. Knight Enchanter looks really cool, at least you can summon blade to deal some melee damage as well.

Judging how fun a class is based on the beginning of the game. SMH

Mount-summoning looks like a skill so we most likely could simply put it in another slot. However, what's so hard about pressing "="?

Your hands (well people that use w/s/a/d) are no where near the "=" key, when I play games I try my best to put skills used most often around where my hand is so I don't have to pick it up and move it across the keyboard.

Sure it will be easily remappable.

Nice to hear that.
Well, it's far from my fingers, and summoning a mount is likely one of the most used keybind in the game.

Ah, I see. I inconveniently use my mouse to click on skills (also, "right-click --> Cut" instead of "Ctrl-x") so this doesn't occur to me at all. Haha.

I have this pre-ordered for PS4, but I just caved and also pre-ordered the deluxe edition on Xbox One and am pre-loading now. That 6 hours of early access is just too much to resist. Besides, I had originally planned on getting this on Xbox One anyway. But now I'll have both versions, lol.

You do know that the 6 hour early access for XBO is tied to EA Access, right?

ok you preorder xbox bastards are CRAZY

I can wait for the 18th

I can wait...just. Looked over my Steam account yesterday for something from the backlog to fill the time until Dragon Age: Inquisition arrives and realised I just can't bring myself to play anything that isn't DA:I.

Looks like a fortnight of movies and GAF until then.

Ardor, Elf Mage Inquisitor

Party will likely consist of Blackwall, Cole and Vivienne/Dorian.

My objective, beyond saving the world, will be to do my best to restore the elves to their former glory.

Qunari Templar will be called Hollywood, or Red. Not sure yet.
Qunari Warrior (my Hard run) will be called Webster.
Dwarven Warrior will be called Riley, or Tuxin. Not sure yet.
Elven Archer will be Perry, Riley, Red, or Thatcher.
Human Mage will Wozdzowski.

Or I'll end up going Lovecraft and calling:
QT = Nyarthanotep
QW = Yog-Sothoth
DW = Nodin
EA = Dagon
HM = Keziah Mason

For TLC:
Huntress = Ceilidh
Scholar = Lord Boner

I'm exactly the same, just looking at all my games thinking "You're not Dragon Age: Inquisition, neither are you, or you, or you"

Man I'm really struggling with the choice of human or elf for my inquisitor. I guess it'll depend on how not so bony/pointy I can make the elf. It was an easy choice to make an elf in DAO because I liked the idea of the city elf. But a dalish elf isn't as exciting.

I mean the pro of elf is a more interesting reaction in the story than human. But I don't know if it's enough to make me choose it over human.

you hated the first one? O_o

I think it's an objectively bad game.

Small environments loaded with invisible walls, load screens everywhere. The gameplay is nothing but fetch-quests and cripplingly unfun dungeon crawls. The story is crazy unoriginal, the art is bad, the game is ugly and glitchy. I hear people say "play it on PC", but there's one enjoyable aspect in the whole game frankly and it's done better in every other BioWare game (besides maybe Dragon Age II, which I only briefly played). Claudia Black only gets you so far.

I have high hopes for this one, though.

How much of my life am I going to lose if I buy this, and how easy is it for a light RPG player to get into?

Am soooo tempted as I think it looks great, but between this, Mordor, DC & GTAV I have to remember I have a family...

Con: Elves can't grow beards.

What is the trade-in value at gamestop of a family these days? I'll trade in my family if I get 200 bucks off, of the Sunset Overdrive Xbox One bundle. But seriously, don't sell your family for one game. Two new ones at least. The make major dough selling prepurchased humans and items.

Given how disappointed* I was with both Dragon age 2 and Mass Effect 3 I had been feeling "meh" about any new Bioware game and especially this up until the last couple of weeks.
Thanks to this thread though I'm already starting to feel much more positive, the sheer fact that my eye is inexorably drawn here every couple hours means I must be mired in the hype like a kid. I fully expect a preorder to be made before the end of the week, I'm so weak willed.

*Not angry or anything, just disappointed

I even have Mordor waiting practically finished and I'm still procrastinating doing other stuff now.
