Dragon Age: Inquisition has gone gold

Wasn't ME4 confirmed to be
an interquel?

Or are you not talking of this upcoming ME game but a future game.

I don't believe anything's been confirmed yet for "Next Mass Effect". I'm only assuming it'll be a sequel because they bothered to send out a questionnaire to ME fans asking what they would like to see, and the answer seems to be overwhelmingly "sequel." Obvious that's nothing approaching a safe bet but I think prequel is out of the question these days, so I think it'll be sequel or "another galaxy" type of thing.

Go back and rewatch media of the new ME and you can probably find your answer.

I'm beyond pumped to get this game. I've had the PS4 version preordered the moment amazon had it up and I recently bought a GTX 970... So now I'm thinking about switching over to the PC version. The 970 arrives on the 13th, same day as the EA access trial what a glorious day that will be.

So tempted to watch that first hour gameplay tomorrow. I. Must. Resist.

Of course reviews would come out while I'm asleep.

I really gotta stop visiting this thread, time is slowly crawling to a halt. The 6 hour EA Access gameplay is going to go by so fast too.

I haven't been this excited since ME2 pre-launch.

The 70 dollar version still going to be offered after launch? No reason for me to buy it until December or so when I've finished Overdrive and GTA (again)

They must be confident, that's always a good sign. Hoping for a DF face-off before launch as well so I can make a more informed decision on which platform (on console).

I'm also looking forward to reviews on which console version is superior since I own both systems though right now 1080p on PS4 is making me lean more in that direction but we'll see what the reviews say we still have time to make a choice!

The confidence is really reassuring because they know how much they fucked up with DAII in the eyes of critics and fans. I'm excited to read reviews and see scores.

It's not.
Nintendo doesn't put any embargo...

Yeah, but that is Nintendo dude.

Nintendo has a quality pedigree that other developers ONLY WISH they could have. So they don't have to worry about review dates ruining their launches.

Most 3rd parties are doing the day of release review embargo because they don't have that confidence in their developers.

Imagine if that single city concept had been just as fleshed out as the world of DAI seems to be. Imagine if Kirkwall had been a living, breathing world unto its own.

It hurts my heart. I appreciate that they tried it. But it hurts my heart.

They cracked that game out in a year. Cut massive amounts of content. Whatever the reason for such a quick turnaround, it was shortsighted, and I know damn well they will never do that again.

A week early embargo is quite rare. Last game I can think of that did that was Halo 4 and that wasn't a whole week as review went up the Thursday before the game launched.

Publisher wanted it out, it wasn't Bioware's fault. They did the best they could in that timeframe.

I think it's more about damage control than anything else.
If they were not confident they would've not founded their project.
But controling the mass and let out only good reviews, will make sales, imo.

That's what happened to : Titan fall, Watch dog and Destiny.
So the hype train won't fall before the release date.
The result was big sales and being n°1 in the top sales.

Anyway, maybe that's not the case for DA:I and they felt they're confident about it. We will know soon enough. Though, that's the last tile, I give Bioware a chance with rpg, if they rushed somewhere in the game (like bad endings in Mass effect 3). I won't forgive them and buy again their games.

When I play a game, I usually hit the crit path when I start getting bored. Usually happens pretty quick. Not the case right now.

At this point you can read between the lines. It's going to be a high scorer. Personally, I'm expecting 90+ MC all said and done.

Uhmm nope, that didn't happen, none of those games had reviews before release, there's no way to control the review scores beforehand.

Are these song lyrics?

I have a feeling this will be the game that most people will look back on when we talk about this gen getting started. (personally its Destiny for me)

ala Oblivion.

Bioware diverted their resources to SW:TOR because it was flipping Star Wars and KOTOR in an MMO. If it worked out, they wouldn't even need to do DA:I, and Bioware would be UO-ed like Origin Systems.

So our saves from the previous games don't really carry over, we have to use that dragon age keep to make our own previous game decisions to move to DAI?

The Keep is simple, though. It uses your Origin account to sync most of the major decisions you made in your previous save games..

Yes.

But to be frank, the Keep is a great way to concisely see what you did.
Also, it fixes a lot of plot holes from Origins.

thinking this game will hold me over until Bloodborne and Witcher 3...I can see myself playing this through January.

Just got through the Fade yesterday...what a pain. seriously..

The Fade isn't as terrible as the deep roads section. It's not even the dark spawn that bug me, it's those stupid deep stalkers that just keep popping out of the ground.

The coloring in the Deep Roads was just terrible to me. Like, as a personal preference. I love the design, but the colors were horrendous and awful to look at. Every time I think about replaying DA:O, I remember the Deep Roads and just... no...
