Dragon Age: Inquisition has gone gold

That's a good guess. 2.0 is the worst. Don't worry too much, though -- Sony/EA have promised a system update that will fix things before the game is out, so there's zero reason to panic ATM. I just don't know how anyone could feel comfortable delivering a thorough review of the game right now. I read Kirk's whole piece and it's really good (and discusses all of this), so I'll stop replying for now and just recommend you check that out at 3am. (I'll be back in the morning.)

It makes me wonder if some reviewers will punish the scores because of this, which seems to be Sony's fault.

How could you say something like that and expect us not to worry?

But I'm glad to hear it's being addressed.

From what I've read, the technical complications are that the PS4 2.00 update broke the game, so I guess the reviewers played the game with an older PS4 firmware, or the Xbox One / PC version.

It should be fixed tomorrow with the 2.02 tho, hopefully.

I have the PS4 version pre-ordered, but I also went ahead and pre-ordered the deluxe edition for Xbox One. Glad I did, just in case.

This is gonna sound stupid but, is there a guide for Dragon Age Keep?

I'm seeing and selecting a bunch of random characters and I have no idea why.

Dang, that's gotta annoy Bioware to no end... I know a Sony stuff-up shouldn't affect a score but a vibe is a vibe and could no doubt hurt some of the more rushed reviewer's scores.

We'll see in a couple hours!

Not cool bro. You're basically saying that any review that shows up isn't "real" without those complications written in.

Eh, cut him a break. Gaming media rushed to review DAII and ended up giving a sub-par product near-perfect scores. That's not to say i expect Inquisition to approach DAII in any way, shape, or form, but I have no problem with reviewers wanting to hold their impressions a bit longer this time.

Gotta say, that first hour was pretty hype.

Essentially the Angry Joe Show w/ the cutscenes still in, as someone said.

Honestly, the only thing I'm querulous on is
The former prisoner becoming the inquisitor solely based on a fade impression which may or may not be true, given that the fad can be manipulated by demons as shown from DA:O.

I strongly dislike "chosen one" tropes in general. I really hope they manage to make this compelling. Being able to close portals does not make one a leader. I hope your rise to power is a lot more complex than "this guy's hands glow, let's do what he says".

Is everyone reviewing this game on the PS4 or something? Plus I'm sure most must know it's a firmware problem, or atleast EA/Bioware probably let them know.

GentleGAF.

It is now exactly one week.

So I'm messing about in Dragon Age keep tapestry and trying to get this outcome like I did in my game.

- Alistair and my warden rule as king/queen.
- Alistair has god baby
- Alistair kills Achdemon

In order to set Alistair as the Archdemon killer it keeps forcing Morrigan to not have an old god baby, Anora is queen alone and it ends the Warden/Alistair romance entirely.

So it's stuck saying no dark ritual, that my warden killed archdemon yet is still alive and well.

Is this going to be working right by release?

If you do the dark ritual, it automatically chooses the Warden to take the killing blow.

Though, the situation you say its currently at seems... wrong.

IIRC, I think you need to be the human noble (or at the very least, human), in order to able to be co-queen with Alistair as King. That might have something to do with it.

Other than that, dunno what it could be.

I cannot wait for this game tbh. I have many fond memories of Origins (even the long
ass fade section
). I haven't tried Keep yet to carry over my 360 storyline to my PS4 but I fear I won't remember any of the fine details of my choices.

What happens if you don't use Keep? Will you get the official storyline from the first two carried over? I might use that over my choices for the first play through.

Yes, you get a default World States if you don't use the Keep.

Edit:Beaten

No, you want to use the keep. What the "Default world state" means is Bioware chooses the choices that will get you the least amount of extra characters and plot points as possible. It's so new people don't get quests that you need to play the prior games to get the juxtaposition. Use the keep.

Another gameplay question.

Do the companions get the same racial bonuses as the main PC?

Does Varric have a 25% additional resistance to magic? Do Cassandra., Blackwall, Vivianne and Dorian have an extra ability point, etc.
